In December 2021, I spoke with the then manager of customer service (she has since left Zpacks). There was an issue with an order that I placed in November 2021 and I received the wrong item. I had to unfairly incur the cost of return shipping to send back the wrong item. In light of this, I was told that the next time I placed an order with ZPacks, I would receive free shipping (I was okay with the cheapest method, i.e. mail over courier). I was never advised of any expiration date and this telephone call was recorded and reviewed by Zpacks staff. I was offered free shipping on my next order and no expiration date was ever provided to me. In May 2022, I tried to order a Zpacks product and when I spoke to the new manager of customer service, she advised that the previous manager had left and she would review the call. While the new manager advised that I was told that I would receive free shipping on my next order, it expired after six (6) months. I was never told that the free shipping would expire, which was not really free shipping but rather it was to compensate me for having to pay for return shipping that I shouldn't have. Indeed, it is trite to say that I was merely advised I would not be charged for shipping on my next order. I then spoke with the COO in May 2022 who was hostile and rude. This male advised me Zpacks would not be honoring its previous free shipping compensation offered to me by a previous managerial staff member. The COO stated that the free shipping promotion expired; however, when I tried to convey that I was not using or otherwise relying upon a free shipping promo but rather compensation for having to pay return shipping for a wrong item received, I was hung up on. In the end, I am the victim of a negligent misrepresentation by Zpacks. By any objective measure, ZPacks has manifestly committed an unfair and deceptive business practice and ought to be compelled to honor its word and representation.
