In November 2023 I decided to have All Transmission World rebuild the transmission in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was originally quoted $5,500 then I was called and told it would be $7,000 for the exact same job which was to include a ******* mile warranty. I was also told the job would take one maybe 2 weeks. I called at 2 weeks and it was not ready but told it should be ready the next week. I called after 3 weeks and told still not ready. I called a few days later and told the reason it was taking so long was that a thorough and complete rebuild was being done. I picked it up right at 4 weeks and the restart light was on and was told it was not related to transmission but started coming on at same time transmission started shuddering. I brought it back about a week later due to the exact same shuttering I had before and their recommendation was to put a tube of shudder fix in a transmission that was suppose to be competely rebuilt. They also claimed at that time to reset the programming of transmission which turned off the restart light which I was previously told was unrelated. The transmission never fully stopped shuddering and slipping and now, 3 weeks ago the allegedly rebuilt transmission locked up at a red light in a busy intersection and would not come out of park. I had it towed back to All Transmission World only because it supposed to be warrantied for 3 years/******* miles as stated on my copy of the shop receipt. It has now been over 3 weeks and no update on my vehicle and I'm not calling cause tired of being lied to and talked down to by the guy behind counter as soon as I brought the vehicle back and explained the problem. I suspected he may have been getting defensive cause the vehicle was driving like it had $7,000 of shudder fix instead of actually being rebuilt but this is speculation based on paying for a $7, 000 repair and getting it back with the exact same problem. At this point I'm looking past the awful customer service and just want what I paid $7,000 cash for. I also was told that they could not give me a military discount even after I called and confirmed I could get it at another All Transmission World location again now I just want what I paid for. Prompt payment was made but failure to provide service paid for. I didn't understand what was going on when I first went there but I now understand why another customer was arguing with the guy behind the counter now.

The transmission was rebuilt and warranty by American Transmission. We have to follow their guide line for the warranty work. The codes that are in the vehicle relates to the valve body  inside the transmission. They are sending us a rebuilt valve body to install first. We should be receiving it no later 4/24/2024. We will install it and hopefully that will take care of his problem. If not this transmission will have to be removed and picked up by American transmission for further repair. We only have a labor warranty with the customer. American ********************** will cover all parts needed. We are sorry for his unconvinced in this matter but this is the warranty that was provided to us and the customer. We will be updating the customer.

I am rejecting this response because:  I am rejecting this response until a simple question is answered.  I was originally told by All TRANSMISSION WORLD that they had to source out the repair because they were not able to get the valve body mentioned in their response so it was suppose to have been replaced but like I mentioned the vehicle had the exact same shudder and hard shifting from park once I picked it up which is common for valve body issues.  The valve body is also a part that can fail but is known to last a long time which would not explain it failing so soon if replaced at first.  I ASK FOR ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD TO CONFIRM WHETHER THE ALLEGED VALVE BODY WAS ORIGINALLY REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE SINCE IT WAS A PART THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT GET.  I ALSO REQUEST A ITEMIZED INVOICE STATING WHAT WAS ACTUALLY DONE AND REPLACED IN THE TRANSMISSION AND WHETHER IT WAS A NEW PART SINCE I PAID IT TO BE COMPLETELY REBUILT NOT PATCHED WITH TUBES OF SHUDDER FIX OR USED PARTS OR EVEN A FLUID OTHER THAN THE MANUFACTURER SPECIFIED ONE.  THIS IS A OFFICIAL RECORD REQUEST IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR ACT and concerning a repair in the amount of $7,000 cash and paid by someone with veteran status as any violation of THE FLORIDA MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR ACT can provide harsher penalties for violations committed against seniors and veterans?

      Sincerely,

I am sorry for the confusion of **************.  I don't know what he has been reading or who he has been talking to. We explained to him up front that we can not get parts for an internal repair of his **********************. So we would have to sub this job out. We gave him three different options to replace his **********************. One through the dealer which was very expenses, one thru Jasper ********************** which was also very high and one thru American Transmission which was a lower price and (HE) elected to buy that ********************** from American Transmission. We bought it for him and charged him to install it on11/14/2023 or 5moths ago. He was suppose to come back in two weeks after he picked up the vehicle for a recheck but never showed. Now he is making all these accusations that it never worked right. He brought us his vehicle because it was over heating and there was water in the ********************** as you will see we had to put a condenser on his vehicle see Exhibit (B). He talks about putting shudder fix in it. Most people should no shudder fix will not take the water out of a ********************** and make it start running and shifting OK again. The he talks about he paid for a rebuilt ********************** and wants an items list. Don't know who he is talking to. He elected to buy a rebuilt ********************** from American Transmission as you see in the invoice they sent us a complete rebuilt and  priced it out as 1 unit. When a unit is completely rebuilt not every part inside the ********************** gets replaced, but they cover everything in side that ********************** for 3yrs or ******* miles which every come first.  See Exhibit (D).  American Transmission is in the control of this warranty repair. We have to follow there lead on this. They have just pick up the valve body and it is on it's way for them to do what every it needs to get right.  ************* we are on top of theses repairs. We have served the ************* area for over 35 years. We will make it right for you.

      Thanks for your business

      Complaint: 21596062

I am rejecting this response because:  Keys areas of the business response are not correct.

      1)  I did not receive nor did I need to receive a dealer recommendation because I had the transmission diagnosed at Central Florida Jeep before coming to ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD and do not know where that information is coming from but could take a good guess and I told their manager this and the only reason I chose to do business with ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD was that I was originally quoted a price $3,000 less than dealership and was told I would have the same warranty I had already received from dealership and I was told by the ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD manager that there was a shortage of cores so my original transmission would be rebuilt and that is also why I was told it took 28 days to repair the first time.  Its been 33 days this time to date.  I also receive military discounts at the same dealership if more than the coupons on their website so no conversation of a  dealer option was needed as I intentionally brought that info to them first to get their best out the door and repaired price.

      2)  I also came in during the checkup period.  It was on this day I informed the manager of developing the exact same problem after 2 days.  He was immediately disgruntle and defensive and asked one of the other mechanics to check it out.  I drove my vehicle with the mechanic to demonstrate the shudder and slipping and the mechanic agreed it was not right.  This same mechanic also stated that "shudder fix" sometimes can smooth out such eratic shifting even in big trucks.  At which time the manager claimed he was calling the company they sourced it out to and came back to me and recommended allowing them to put some "shudder fix" in it and had another employee reprogram the transmission which I stated in my first complaint had made the auto engine restart light go off completely which was a good thing but could have been done at first.  Instructions from the manager was to drive it like that for a while and if it was fine then there was no reason to come back and if it did not smooth out then to let him know so he could have the transmission pulled again and sent back to the company they source it out to.

      3)  The first alleged repair took exactly 4 weeks.  This time it has been 5 weeks with still no courtesy update to "why it had the exact same problem after paying them not some other company" or a eta for completion.  I suppose this is the 35 years experience at its best.  If ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD HAS TO GO THRU THIS PROCESS JUST 1 MORE TIME A FULL REFUND AND DAMAGES WILL BE WARRANTED  so I guess a thorough rebuild is actually being done this time.  By law all itemized repair invoices should be forwarded to the customer not ******************** so the listed email ********************** is where I would kindly appreciate the itemized repair printout for the first and current warranty repair and since they have 35 years experience I'm sure I can expect a update on when the vehicle will be ready which the dealership would not have to be asked to do,  I know this cause all my service is done at the dealership even the new pirelli tires on my vehicle from the dealership.  The manager also stated if I had to come back again that he would try to "help" with the long term rental expense cause of the inconvenience as I also told him the dealership would have provided a loaner or reduced rate long term rental. He also told me he wanted the business to have a good reputation since the death of his friend who was manager there and that he was taking credit for the shop doing $1,000,000 in revenue since he been manager.  I'm not trying to protect my job or piece of the pie so I would have nothing to gain in submitting false statements but at this point a lot to lose.  These facts contradict the business response and are true and correct just in case the owner is concerned about something called truth.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

It is a professional disgrace for the owner of ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD to state that I did not bring my vehicle back for a checkup,  Besides my response and the 3 employees involved in what was done when I did bring it back, I have multiple parents from my son's varsity basketball team which were aware of the issues I was having at that time and I dropped my son off at his high school and he was aware of all the shudder and slipping after the work was done and I informed him I was going to ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD on that day and that he may need to ride with one of his teammates due to me not knowing how long I would be at ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD AND THE PARENT WAS MADE AWARE AND AGREED TO TAKE MY SON HOME AND KNEW WHERE I WAS.  I also have copys of texts talking about the situation and the person I asked to be available if I needed a ride if they kept my vehicle on that day which was approximately 1 week before Christmas.  The employee who went to purchase the "shudder fix" is believed to have purchased it from Advance Auto Parts which is walking distance from ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD.  SO AFTER 35 YEARS EXPERIENCE NO ATTEMPT TO HELP WITH RENTAL EXPENSE AS PROMISED BY MANAGER DUE TO HAVING TO BRING IT BACK A WEEK LATER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, NO ACCURATE UPDATE, NO EXPLANATION FOR THE PROBLEM, AND A GROSSLY FALSE STATEMENT CLAIMING I DID NOT BRING THE VEHICLE BACK.

THIS IS MY SECOND REQUEST AND PERTINENT TO A SUCCESSFUL RESOLUTION TO THIS CASE:  IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR ACT,  I REQUEST THE FOLLOWING

      1)  A ITEMIZED REPORT OF ALL WORK AND PARTS FROM DECEMBER 14, ***************************************************************************** DECEMBER 2023 WITH ALL OF THE DETAILS MANDATED BY LAW.

      2)  ANOTHER ITEMIZED REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR ACT FOR ALL WORK AND PARTS FOR CURRENT WARRANTY WORK STARTED ALLEGEDLY ON MARCH 28, 2024 AND REPORT SHOULD MEET ALL DETAILS MANDATED BY LAW AND THIS ONE SHOULD NOT NEED TO BE REVISED AS ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD IS STILL IN POSSESSION OF VEHICLE AND HAS NOT CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER WITH A DELIVERY DATE AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE THIS TIME FOR OVER 30 DAYS WHICH COULD BE UNLAWFUL AS WELL.

      3)  BOTH REPORTS CAN BE EMAILED TO ******************** for review once revised to Florida Motor Vehicle Repair Act specific guidelines with no omissions.  The customer still has not received services paid for 4.5 months ago nor the rental car assistance stated by the manager if I had to bring the vehicle back again with the same problem.  Perhaps this was just stated since it was right before Christmas nevertheless it was verbally stated but an amount was not specified.

BY LAW, ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD IS NOT COOPERATING AND ABIDING BY THE FLORIDA MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR ACT FOR THE FOLLOWING:

      1)  The customer-business relationship is between myself and ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD and not some other business.  The itemized report by law should come from ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD and should speciify what they did or what they sourced out and all other details mandated by law.  Plainly this is something which should have been presented to me on December 14, 2023 and ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD still has not generated a detailed report of their own which meets state guidelines.  I did not do business with some other company for this repair I did business with ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD and they were paid $7,000 directly for the service.  THE OTHER COMPANY STATED THEY DO NOT EVEN HAVE MY INFORMATION WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO CALL THEM AND DEAL WITH THEM DIRECTLY DUE TO IRRESPONSIBLE HANDLING OF THE SITUATION FROM ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD.  YES, THE COMPANY THEY MENTIONED CLAIMED TO NOT EVEN HAVE MY PERSONAL OR VEHICLE INFORMATION AND REFERRED ME BACK TO ALL TRANSMISSION WORLD TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

I have spoken with Brain about this matter. The two attachments that I have sent shows on both my invoice were he has signed an accepted that the transmission was coming from American Transmission and the warranty was through American Transmission. They have his vehicle in ************ and they are doing the warranty repairs on this vehicle. We should  get the vehicle back to ************* on or by May 20th. I have talked to ***** on 5/14/2024 and advised him of the warranty repairs. He was understanding and ask that the vehicle be towed back to his house by American Transmission. I told him that I would be talking to them on 5/16/2024 and make that request. American Transmission will have to OK that request. Hopefully this matter will be behind us as of the 20th.
