Wife and I went to the Total Wine in **********, ** on 3/14/22 at 7:25PM to each but a bottle of store pick bourbon they just released. I went to ask an associate to see if they had it in stock since the shelf did not have any. That male associate said they just sold out. I stuck around for **** more minutes after that to see if its truly sold out or not. Lo and behold, a Caucasian guy that came in after me got a bottle. I asked the guy where he got it from and that an associate told me 5 minutes before that they sold out. The guy told me a female associate grabbed him a bottle and that she was getting another case of it. When the associate came out with the case, she handed this guys friend (who came in with him) a bottle. Then he told her that I was looking for a bottle. She very reluctantly with an attitude gave me a bottle then proceeded to go to the shelves to stock it. My wife followed her to get a bottle also because the sign clearly said one per customer. The female associate proceeded to hand out four more bottles to four different customers (who were all Caucasians) including a couple that came in together. She then proceeded to tell my wife that only one per household is allowed. But she clearly gave two bottles to the couple right before. So obviously it was not one per household and especially since the sign says one per customer (and not household). I do not know if she was intentional discriminating against us because we are Asians but this whole situation was very unprofessional and uncalled. I am highly disappointed that two different associates at the Total Wine ********** location lied straight to our face. There was no pushback to any of the other five Caucasian customers they had when they asked for a bottle. I am very very upset with this whole situation and that it is almost, if not, borderline discriminatory.
