      Do not buy a Rheem water heater. I drained my 2 year old Rheem classic gas water heater as recommended and it would not restart. In troubleshooting I discovered a known issue with the gas control valves. I contacted Rheem as it was still under warranty and spent almost 4 hours on the phone going through their troubleshooting and warranty process. They finally admitted the known problem was due to a faulty Italian part (GCU) they used when they ran into supply chain problems during the pandemic. I scheduled an appointment with one of their certified/recommended partners and got an estimate on $800 in labor. I received the part from Rheem and installed it myself in an hour. They do not stand behind their products but did give me free shipping as a "courtesy."

      We purchase a rheem hotwater heater about 6 months ago. We have had techs out from the company that installed it 8-10 & 1 from a second company ( $175 out of my pocket) they all throw parts at it .....yet another weekend with out hot water $3800 hot water heater is a waste of time and money

      My HVAC from Rheem is only 5 years old. I have had so many problems with my AC costing me hundreds of dollars. The warranty doesn't cover labor. My technician gas already been to my home 3 times since October 12 2024.Terrible system

      Horrible service, no responsibility, employees chuckle and think it’s funny when lying to a customer, advisors do not know how to not interrupt people, warranty sounds great but when having to use don't expect parts to be shipped out until you have called for a third time in a week span because they did not do their job and actually shipped the parts. Horrible service, don’t buy a Rheem hot water heater as it is a waste of your hard earned money.

      0 , customer service has been good, quality of product is garbage, 3 hot water heaters in a month, keep sending parts to supposedly fix, same exact issue after 12 hours of use, gas control failure, exchanged entire unit, same problem, venting has been checked , gas has been checked, installation has been inspected, last parts sent lasted 19 hours, Ive only had hot water 6 times in a month

      Have a 12 year warranty and after 3 years it's sucking more amps then it's supposed to (verified by local power company). Sent the info from the power company and got nothing but headaches in return from Rheem. Plan on buying a tankless on demand unit but definitely not gonna be there brand. Very VERY disappointed in there customer service. I even tried working with them on paying for 1/2 the price of the replacement parts and still nothing but headaches

      **** M I'M A VERY VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER, I BUGHT A 40 GALLON GAS ********************** HEATER ON SEPTEMBER THE 16TH AT THE **** DEPOT STORE, THE PLUMBER INSTALLED AND AFTER THEY TURNED IT ON, WE STARTED TO SMELL A LOTS OF NATURAL GAS, THE PLUMBERS DOUBLE CHECKED THEIR CONNECTIONS (1) TO MAKE SURE IT WAS PROPERLY DONE AND THEY STARTED AGAIN AND ONCE AGAIN THE SMELL OF NATURAL GAS, THE PLUMBERS INSPECTED IT AND FOUND THE PROBLEM, THE MAIN LINE TO THE GAS HEATER WAS BEND AND BROKEN, I TOOK PICTURES AND VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM, SO I ASK THE PLUMBER TO UNINSTALLED AND TOOK IT BACK TO **** DEPOT AND HAD TO BUY A NEW ONE 50 GALLON THIS TIME CAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE SAME SIZE TO REPLACE IT, MY PROBLEM IS THE I HAD TO PAY DOUBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A WATER HEATER, BECAUSE THE FIRST ONE WAS DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS TO SAY THE LEAST, I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE 6 TIMES ABOUT 3 HRS OF TIME ALL TOGETHER, UNFORTUNATELY THE DAY I RETURNED THE NEW DAMAGE UNIT I DID NOT WRITE THE SERIAL NUMBER AND SOME HOW **** DEPOT DIDN'T NOT LET ME KNOW THAT WAS GOING TO NEED IT IN ORDER TO FILE A CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE SECOND INSTALLATION TO THE PLUMBER, APPARENTLY THEY BLAME EVERYTHING ON ME CUASE I DIDN'T CALL FIRST BEFORE RETURNING IT, BECAUSE THEIR POLICY OF FIXING BEFORE RETURNING IT.BUT WHAT ABOUT MY FAMILY, HOW LONG WE WERE GOING TO WAIT TO GET. IT FIX OR TO GET THE PARTS TO GET IT FIX?? I DID THE NEXT BEST THING FOR MY FAMILY WHICH WAS RETURNED IT AND BUY A KNEW NEW ONE. I'M VERY SURPRISE FOR THEIR RESPONSE:THEIR PRODUCT, THEIR FAULT MY PROBLEM FOR BUYING IT AND LOSING MONEY FOR THE DOUBLE INSTALLATION. AND **** DEPOT.... THEY SAY :: SORRY YOUR LOST!! WHAT A WAY TO DO BUSINESS.I SHOULD PERSUE COMPENSATION DIFFERENT WAY .

      Another unhappy customer. Would give a 0 if it was an option. They don't stand behind their products. Purchased a 2 ton A/C and air handler and a 5 ton A/C and air handler to upgrade our ********************** ******* one year ago and the 5 ton A/C is leaking refrigerant and Rheem gives the run around as far as warranty goes. Because they only warranty parts I have paid $1,200 in service calls after paying over $20k last year to upgrade to these POS products. Why bother having a warranty at all when you won't also cover the cost of fixing the parts on your POS products. I should have stuck with Carrier brand.
