I dont understand how this company is till open for business !!! The customer service is horrible !!! American home shield need to reevaluate who they offer business to !!! I was hung up on twice by the same customer service rep !!!! My part was delivered for my ac a week ago and peidmont mechanical wouldnt pick it up ! The company installed the wrong coil to my air handler unit / HVAC system in the townhouse and the third floor portion of my property hasn't been cooling or working correctly for two months. AHS has been working with me on this issue for 2 weeks. I need this issue to be resolved asap.Help Help HelpReview from Ashley L

Not surprised they only have 1 star reviews. If I could rate them less than 1 star I would. The completely incompetent supervisor that I spoke to started yelling at me over the phone because he could not clearly communicate how an A/C unit was supposed to properly work. I constantly had to ask for permission to speak because he very rudely kept interrupting me. And then he hung up in my face! Needless to say we have been dealing with PC since April. They have been to my house at least 7 times by now. My current A/C unit with the issue does not cool below 75 degrees and I was told thats what I should expect since it is so warm outside. This has never been the case and I have never been told this until I started dealing with this company.Piedmont Mechanical Contractors, Inc. Response

We have been dispatched to this home multiple times and have explained to this customer that their ac is working as it should. This customer was rude, abused our staff verbally, and is welcome to use any other company that she would like.Review from Vee S

The technician from PMC that came out to service my AC was very thorough. PMC was a second opinion requested through American Home Shield. The technician told us that the compressors needed freon and that was why the units wouldn't come on. Two days later, they recalled the repairs back to the 1st company that said a power surge was the issue. I was on the phone every other day with AHS trying to see what the issue was. PMC didn't submit a diagnosis. AHS left 2 messages in which PMC confirmed that were not responded to. The individual I spoke with told me that she would look over the notes and give me a call back. The next day the ticket with AHS was closed. When I called back to PMC, I was told that it was referred back to the original company for repairs. I asked several times for the diagnosis and was told just that it was being referred to the original company. I expressed that this felt like some type of scam because the technician stated something different from what I was now being told. She then hung up on me. I'm going to just pay 100% out of pocket, but will never use or refer anyone to use this company! Their business practices are untrustworthy.Piedmont Mechanical Contractors, Inc. Response

Respectfully, this is not accurate. We were dispatched to this home simply to give a second opinion diagnosis to this persons warranty company. We have detailed notes of our diagnosis that we provided to the warranty company the day we were at the home. We were not authorized to make any repairs by this persons warranty company as we were instructed that the work was being dispatched the previous company. This customer called our office screaming and demanding that we come and make repairs that we were not authorized to make. We will not tolerate being shouted at and kindly refer them elsewhere.Review from Michael F

If PMC ever bothers to respond to me after more than a week of calling, I will amend this review to reflect any courtesy they actually extend.PMC does not return calls. PMC does not provide requested information from voicemails left, since they are consistently unavailable to answer calls. Can't hardly reach a human and when you do they refuse to help. I think their business model is to get the service visit fee from American Home Shield, then state they cannot do the work itself, so they make $125 or whatever from AHS just to visit the properties for 10 mins per. Doesn't seem like a lucrative business model, but why else simply refuse to do the repair and not provide any backup for why you cannot do a very routine furnace blower repair. ************* claims against our company are simply untrue. Our company reported our findings to *************' home warranty company who denied his claim. Our job is to make a diagnosis and report what we see and can only make repairs if we are authorized to do so. Regarding his claims that we do not answer the phone, this is simply not true. We spoke to ************* on Friday, and he continued to call after our normal business hours.Review from RUSSEL L

Very unhappy with Piedmont service. After four trips to work on and or replace my AC and heater I thought all would be working satisfactorily. When we turned on our heater this year, we found out it does not work. Piedmont installed a unit without heat strips. In north ******** strips are essential. Piedmont said they installed the equipment that the warranty company, American Home Shield, sent them. *** told me they replied on the technician to order what was needed. Both are pointing a finger at the other. Bottom line, the Piedmont technician installed a unit knowing that all of the parts were not there. I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone for any repair. That goes as well for American Home Shield. NO stars at all.Piedmont Mechanical Contractors, Inc. Response

As we have attempted to explain to this customer, we are a sub-contractor for his home warranty company. Our job is to diagnose and report back our findings. ************** determined that there was a leak in the air handler, which we then reported to his warranty company. His warranty company supplied the equipment that the wished to have installed. We installed that equipment and it has been working since this summer.
For this customer to state that their heat was not working at all is incorrect. Heat strips are a secondary, back up heat source that are not to be used as a primary heat source per GA code. While it is best to have heat strips, it is not uncommon to find air handlers that do not have them installed.
What this customer is failing to say is that before reaching out to us about a possible solution, he had another company install heat strips in his working air handler at an highly inflated cost that he now wants to pass on to us. As he no longer has his home warranty, he now wishes to point the blame our way when will simply installed for him what his warranty company supplied. Had he reached out to us prior to paying someone else to install the heat strips that he desired to have, then perhaps we could have reached out to his warranty company and come up with a solution.Review from karsten t

Thieves. Crooks. I mean, really bad. They were selected by American Home Shield to come service my AC system when it went out. Of course, all I have to pay for is freon, per my contract. And then imagine my surprise when this company wants to charge me three times market value for freon. And worse, and the criminal part, wants to charge me for twice as much freon as my system will hold. But don't worry, I'll be letting everybody know. I'm dedicating the next few months of my life to letting people know this company is nothing but dishonest shysters.Review from Melody B

My heart is truly broken I have never ran across a company that is so heartless. I have been informing them that I was having an event at my house due to the passing of my beloved mother on June 3rd 2023 and I needed my part to fix my AC unit. And they Refuse the part and call American Home Shield and had me transferred to another company to ensure that my unit would not be fixed for my event. All because I called a mean rude receptionist out on her behavior. She was very unprofessional and hung up in my face twice. Then she wants to say I'm harassing them and to stop calling and texting them because they 100% don't ever want to deal with me because I told her she needs to be trained on how to treat customers and don't disrespect them and stop being unprofessional. They were so mean to me but one thing they don't understand they will reap what they sow. God is a just God and he will give everybody just what they got coming to them. Now I'm going to have to wait on another company to come out diagnose the situation wait on another part before I can get my unit fixed. My company will suffer this weekend and so will I. This message is in regards to your ******* office. I have a warranty with American Home Shield and a technician came out on 4/15 because my AC units wasn't cooling. He told me I needed a new compressor and my out of pocket expense for the coolant would be $1245. I got a second opinion and imagine my surprise when the technician showed me that my compressor is working find and my unit has coolant and is working! I have contacted American Home Shield to alert them of the technicians deceptive diagnosis and requested that you never be assigned to service my unit again. I wish I could give this company a 0! My AHS home warranty offers a free A/C tune up for one unit and I paid AHS $100 for the other unit because I have two units. AHS referred Piedmont who came out on yesterday Monday 4/3. Nothing is wrong with either of them, I only wanted my routine maint check up done. The tech was here for all of about 1 minute. He asked where my thermostats were located and showed him both down/upstairs & where the two units were outside. He went outside for 30 seconds came back stating the unit on the right is a little low on freon. I would have to place a separate w/o for someone to come back & put freon in the unit. (My warranty has unlimited freon at no add cost. I just pay the deductible.)He never checked the filters to see if they were dirty, he never went in the attic to check anything, coils, plugs, evaporator coils, condensor, capacitor, contacts, or anything. Every company who has ever done a regular tune up, checked everything and provided a full report before leaving. I received nothing! They weren't here long enough to check anything. I told AHS to refund my $100 and I have already scheduled with another company. They showed me who they were. (I wish I had read reviews beforehand because I would've asked for a different company from the start.) After speaking with ***** @ Piedmont, I can see why this company is horrible and not trying to change. I only hear excuses but no resolution or effort to make things right. She said he couldn't fully check the system because he found the system needed Freon and he could damage my system if he continued the ** check. So that prevented him from checking anything else. That is BS all day! Every single company I've had do a regular ** tune up were able to complete the check up after finding a Freon issue. The customer service from the top down is abysmal. Crisis averted big time after reading these reviews. AHS can never send this company to my house EVER again for anything!
