Delivered my vehicle to U **** Auto Repair on 3/22/2024 with an issue of a cylinder 5 misfire, the mechanic informed me that the cylinder is misfiring due to a computer malfunction in which I found the part and ordered it and paid $107.44 online for the part. A couple of days later (4/01/2024) a different mechanic informed me that the computer wasn't the issue and that I needed a top end rebuild on my motor. I go by the shop the same day ask what all was needed and how much to get the vehicle fixed, I paid an additional $1600 to get the job started and parts. On 4/08/2024 I go to the shop to put down another payment to lessen the amount due for the job and was informed that the original mechanic working on my vehicle ordered $1000 worth of fuel injectors under my account. 4/15/2024 while making another payment I find out that my ** was dissembled and that it'll need recharging, but they didn't have the equipment at that shop. From 4/15 to now 5/8 I have cylinder 1 misfire, faulty charging system (which was fine prior to dropping it off) and no **. I picked up my vehicle on 5/7, informing the owner of my doing so, he gave me my keys and no less than 10 miles the truck cut off and had to be towed. No resolution could be found to fix my vehicle and I've missed out on business opportunities with it sitting at their shop. I requested $1000 refund due to coming in with one issue and leaving with 3 and was denied. While it's been there all they've been saying is that they waiting on an outsource to look at it and apparently haven't been able to reach the individual. They've took accountability for the ** system, denied responsibility for the faulty charging system, stalling or can't find resolution to the cylinder 1 misfire. Now they want me to have the vehicle towed back to their shop to get fixed or lose all the money I've invested with them getting it fixed.

******************** did bring in his vehicle. The issue he brought it in for was fixed. Yes we have taken responsiblity for the A/C. The other issues as for the Misfire he is speaking about was being working on however, He said he came and picked up his truck knowing that we were trying to get the cylinder misfire that he mention fixed.

I am rejecting this response because: I have taken my vehicle back to this business in hopes of receiving a resolution to this issue and today I stopped by to see my vehicle unattended to. I was informed that theyll be taking my vehicle to another shop to try to find a reason for my issues out how to fix it. Their first idea of taking it to the dealership failed even after I informed them that due to my mileage the dealership will not work on my vehicle so Im still waiting on how they plan to rectify the issue.

      Sincerely,

      Tyre Sherwood

******************** rejection is not valid as he stopped by and found his vehicle unattended  because an appointment had to be made with the dealership and he has come by and was told this as well. In ******************** previous complaint he stated he was only drive only 10 Miles  before his truck let him down. We have not had any issues with starting and driving except his truck dying on us which we were able to get it back running and drove each day that we had it. We have tried to explain to ******************** that because of his stereo equipment this is cause his issue with charging system he states this was not happening before he brought it to us and that because we were leaving the door open while working on his truck this was causing his running board to engage which was draining the battery We have been able to start his vehicle despite what he stated. The dealership that he spoke of was not able to receive it because of he mileage however, we were able to take it to a different dealership. We are doing our part to get this matter resolved. We have been keeping ******************** informed. We are just waiting on the findings from the dealership. So despite what is being stated we are doing our part.

4/5/23 / 4/07/23-5/23/23 I took my car in on 4/5 to get an oil leak from timing cover looked at he fixed something else it stopped leaking from the bottom and started shooting to the top of hood. I drove the car back on 4/7 after the oversite on the mechanic part. And when I went to pick up car on or after 4/11 it wouldn't start. *********** agreed to cover expenses but on May 25 he sent me an invoice for **** dollars for repairs. he didn't even waive his fee. *********** should not only waive the fee he should at most cover half the parts considering his oversite could have caused the issue.

      Good Evening, This is *************

In referance to *************. I worked on her car. Before she came to the shop she called several time asking if I could go the work. I told her that I would have to see the car first. She brought her car and i checked her car to see where the leak was coming from. When I found out where the leak came from I ordered the part and put it on the car. When *********** left the shop happy. Two days later she called me and told me the the car was leaking again. I told her to bring the car to the shop. She did bring it and I again checked the car and i knoticed there was a leak up higher, I had to take of the Belt Tensioner and I saw a couple of long gashes on the timing cover. I removed the cover and showed her where the timing chain was rubbing the inside of the timing cover. At that point she starting telling me that it was my fault (the loose timing chain). I told her that we need to put new timing parts and she told me that she can't pay for that.

      Customer response

      06/20/2023

I asked *********** after he removed the timing cover was anything else needed to be replaced. *********** in turn said the Guide. I asked is that was all he said yes he checked all other parts and they were fine. *********** preceeded to put the car back together told us we could pick it up. **** arriving *********** stated he couldn't get the car back started. That's when I asked how was my car running when I brung it but now it can't start. I also stated I had no more money to give me and that he would be responsible because it doesn't make since why he stated that everything else was fine and now he it trying to charge for something else. I also asked him if he knew once he fixed whatever issue he claims was wrong if it would work. He said he would run test and do whatever he had to. To get car back running. I responded you should because this is on you.

      Business response

      06/23/2023

Yes, ************ contacted me over the phone. My wife and I talked to her a few times. We told her that it would better if I looked at the car then I could get a good estimate.
Mrs, **** told me that she took her car to other shops and she didn't like their prices. I looked at her car and she had already told me the one man at one of the shop that she went put a hole in the timing cover. If they put a hole in it why did you take it back to have them to fix it.
I looked at the car and I saw oil leaking from the crankshaft seal. When I finished the car it was running and not leaking. At this point she was happy and she insisted that we took extra money for doing the work. She drove the car for two day.  She called and told me that the car wouldn't start. She waited a While and the car did start.
So I guess she was pouring oil into the engine. I also told them that you must understand the liquard takes the least path of  resistance.
I have been in business and this is my first complant. I told her that I will do what I can to accommodate her. I see that she hasn't said anything about using my car.
I Called the ****** dealer and talked with two of their techs. I asked them about useing the same timing componets that I took out. They advised me that they will never use the old parts. If you do you will be doing it again. That engine is in interferance engine and if you open it up you will need to replace everything.
I updated the invoice and to show the parts that the dealer said that I need to put in. I emailed them the invoice along with the parts and prices of the parts for the car.
Now ************* drove the car for two day and when she brought it backed to me. Yea, the engine was oily. I don't know how much oil was in there and how fast and far she was driving. If the car was leaking oil again, I wouldn't be driving it.
************* is blaming me for the timing cover. When she told me that the guy in other shop put the hole in the cover.
I've done what need to be done up to this point. The other shop told her that they would not do the work unless you replace everything. I refuse to put these parts back on without me and the ****** sign on the dotted line in front of a notery.
Again after **** years I have never had major a complaint.

      Customer response

      06/23/2023

I drove the car home, to work the next day and back to *********** that morning. Once the car was home it wasn't moved I made *********** aware of that. Before *********** touched the car the leak was always from the bottom. After he replaced what he replaced the oil shot to the TOP. I  told *********** that I didn't recieve a leak until I got an oil change. I'm not blaming that on him but he is responsible for the fact that I told him from the beginning what needed to be fixed he told me it didn't. Still til this day *********** hasn't told me why the car wouldn't start. It took him about 4weeks to even send a quote of things that was never discussed along with things he told me should never mess up (timing chain) and should never have to be replaced.  *********** didn't start speaking to I guess ****** until after he couldn't get the car started after he told me he would take care of it. After I told him I couldn't keep dishing money out to him for guesses. *********** also never told me if the car would run with the old parts in. Because my car was running when I brung it to him. I would like my car back running when I get it back. *********** agreed to something and the had his wife state Miscommunication after a **** dollar bill. That ****** mechanics told you to do. If  ****** had to tell you that means you must didn't know what to do in the beginning.

      Business response

      07/13/2023

the customer if they look at thier complaint the things that they are complaining if they look at the estimate that has been sent to them it is the same issue that they had taken the car to be checked on for previously. As for the car not starting when they came back is becasue as ************* has stated she could not afford to get these items repaired. As for me contacting the ****** dealer was not for them to tell me how to fix the car as we know how to fix it. The reason was the customer wants me to put her car back with all the old parts and that will not work. If you have a person who is a mechanic look this case over they can tell you that to put her vehicle back to gather as they would like will not work. Also, there was nothing put on Mrs. ***** car with out permission and conversation with her or her daughter as i was explaining what the finidng were ************* daughter stated that she had did her research and found out that other people was experinceing the same issues. We did not just do work on her car for the part that was put on was a needed parts as that stopped the leaking that she was dealing with down in the wheel seal. I have tried to explain the pathof resistance as for the oil which we she stted was all on the top of the inside hood which do not see at all thier and this could be due to the reason she was supposed to have gone and gotten an oil change thinking this was going to be the fix and when this wasn't I guess our hands being the last one to touch it the blame goes to us.  According to the customer complaint is she only drove it for one day away from here and thier were no leaks. She stated she drove it to work and at some point she tried to start it and it would not start so this was not a new issue with the car not starting, Customer wants to say that if she had not driving it to work than the issues that the car has now would not of been. It just so happen after she brought it to me this time it would not start. Again, i kept them both informed about what the finding was. Her driving the car away from the shop one day according to her would not have cause the issue for the work that is needing to be done as you can see from the invoice. I never agreed to cover any expenses as an automotive repair shop why would I be paying to repair her car when I did not do anything to affect the car. If they look at the invoice and she claims the things that she ask to be fix is all that is on the invoice. The issue with the head was as stated before customer had been driving this car a while in this condition before bringing to us to work on. They want me to either take on some of the cost or wave all the cost and this can not be done. They also, want me to put the car back to gather with again all the origional parts only to have it still not working and then we are back to square one.Again, the customer was speaking about her finance company. She paid for some of the work and as we continued the daughter said, "Let me know what the balance will be" hence forth the invoice that they have.  Customer also, wants us to give her receipts for each and ever part that is purchased. If they had went to another shop and got this work done they would as we do with any customer give them a final invoice with the balance and this is what will be provided to *************. ************* did not want to pay to properly repair her car and we did what she would allow us and we see where this has gotten us and now want us to just put her car back any type of way I would not have been in business for **** years if we just did what we are being accused of doing to this customer. ************* nor her daughter has been a voice of resoning as I am trying to explain these events to them. I been cursed and ****** to very beligent and still to try and appease and get the work done I have even given them a loaner of my personal vehicle so If we were in the business to take advantge of her then we would not have done this and when they are saying that I said," I am going to cover the expenses once again is not corret. This is why we asked if you want us to put this back together with the old parts please sign a notarized authorization given us permission to put it back together with the old parts and we will they want a guranetee that the car will run as before and we already know that this will not happen because the parts would be bad stretched timing chain etc....

      Complaint: 20173953

I am rejecting this response because:

Just because someone been in business **** years doest mean all business is good. As stated before *********** is trying to twist mine and my daughters words. *********** said after taking the cover off that only parts that needed to be replaced was the cover and a broken guide. If the timing chain or anything else needed to be replaced why would he say it didn't. *********** also replaced the guide and timing cover put the car back together to find out he couldn't get it started. If he knew everything needed to be replaced why didn't I recieve this invoice before he put the timing cover on? That's because he stated everything else was ok. My daughter also never told him she would cover the rest she said she would pay him for the guide because she was approved for 600 dollars. Even the financing company waived my fee because of the issue. And as far as my daughter looking stuff up online she did. And it stated that sometimes after the cover is replaced if it won't start the cover could have been replaced incorrectly or could be missing something. Like I said from the beginning if *********** was truthful about the cost and what was wrong I would have never left my car to be fixed by him. He did provide a loaner car because he was trying to figure out why my car wouldn't start. My sick daughter was struggling to get me back in forth to work along with my granddaughters. Once he contacted ****** he started running test that they told him to run. *********** didn't contact me I always contacted he to check the process. And he communication started to get short. All he would say is we still checking. If he knew what he was doing it wouldn't have took over a month to recieve that invoice. If he didn't feel like it wasn't his fault why would he offer to put in a new engine? I could look for an engine myself. *********** cannot even say what he fixed is actually fixed correctly because the car never was test drove. If he new all those parts needed to be replaced for it to run. Why was he confused about why it wouldn't start. And let's not forget about the car stopping the day after he fixed it the 1st time. That was the 1st time it ever stopped working which I told him that. He offered to have it towed but the tow truck guy wasn't there and he didn't know when he would return I told him I would try to start it later and if I could get it home I would. He said that would be great call and let him know and bring it in the next morning which I did. He has had my car every since. He hasn't even said exactly what parts are needing to be replaced all he says is ****** recommends everything be replaced. And this is after I was told everything was fine.

And as far as my speech goes I  am a grown adult. I have been frustrated, lied to and hurt by this whole situation. I  trusted them with my vehicle and was told I wouldn't pay over **** dollars. For me to come out with a **** dollar invoice and 500 for something that I had already had replaced. I've had my words twisted and changed. So yes I'm mad and frustrated.

The Bells came to pick up the car on yesterday. The car was in the shop and I started and pulled it out of the shop for them as they took pocession of the car. The drivers of the car sat in the car with it running as Mrs. ************** was backing out which took a moment. Then they drove off as for the invoice they have the orgional invoice and they have an itemized invoice with all the charges for the the parts that were discussed in the arbatration. What else they are looking for I am not sure. As for a s**** falling out as stated we drove this car in and out of the shop everyday unitl it was picked up and it started with out fail and driving it, it never cut off. As for anything being cracked we are not aware of it.

I am rejecting this response because:

The car started we drove the car 2.9 miles from the location and 2.7 the car jumped and slows down we costed until it completely shut down. It will start and cut off. A guy stopped and said he would try to drive it home for us until the s**** fell from the bottom. On top of that The cover over the engine is broke. There is a piece that is loose when you start the engine it shakes. I can also send a video if you like. We had to get the car towed I have a picture of that too. As for the itemized invoice I would like a recent invoice showing what new items were repaired so a invoice showing the timing cover, guide, engine, timing chain. All the parts that were replaced only.
      Sincerely,
