Our mom passed away ******** ** 2024. On ***** ** 2024 we entered into an agreement with Preston Brown of PD Brown Memorials to place a granite slab and headstone at my mom's gravesite. His services/work came highly recommended and initially was a pleasure to deal with. My daughter and I viewed and selected from his presentation, and he was paid him in full with a cashier's check for product and services as were trying to expedite the settlement of estate matters. However, to my regret and much disappointment, every month since May, I've tried making contact with Preston Brown who has done nothing more than offered excuse upon excuse to include the company he works with closed for a ten day vacation, he's waiting on the ability to pick up a full load, , he's had ***** and been 'down" for three weeks, and had a ****** ** ****; slab and stone is ready he's goin to pick everything up "next"; well next week has yet to come, etc. He has taken the liberty to no longer accept calls and continues to ignore text messages and all points of contact. The finished production of his skills are great, and yes, I pray that he would honor the agreement and complete the job, however, at this point, this disservice has brought about more grief than my mother's death!Initial Complaint

May 2022 I Purchased a headstone/ Marker from Preston company. The stone was for my mother-in-law ********. ** *****. I was told that it would be down in six weeks max and that I would receive an email for me to approve that it was right within a week. However I called for over a year never got a response or call back from Mr . Preston. I sent a certified letter for a full refund to him in June 2023.He called once he received the letter. and stated that he had a lot going on, to give him another chance, that he would give me partial of the money back. He didn't state how much. I said ok. He then ghosted and wouldn't return phone another month sent him another certified letter asking for full refund and that he was no longer needed. He wrote an email state why he didn't respond. I responded with an email stated that the Family hired someone else and that I was just the daughter-in-law as the family wanted to make sure she had one before her b-day and that I wanted a full refund!!! Mr Preston didn't response. Two weeks later while out of the country he emailed that he would be putting the stone down. I had someone to go check and he did put it down after being told not to and also the stone was not what I order. I would like a full refund and for the stone to stay down because this is just too much to be dealing with. I haven't heard anything else from Preston Brown since last week. I have all the letters, email, and receipt. I have a picture of what he put down also. i tried to upload it here but it says files are too large.Business response

The marker has been received and placed. The delay was in shipping as these are handcrafted and go through many avenues before completed and shipped. I cannot refund as the marker is down and in place. I am more than willing to speak with her she can contact me at ********** and work something out with her.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: he was ask not to but he did anyway. I have tried contacting him and he is not answering my phone calls or email! Plus shipping don’t take a year plus when I was told 6 six for the completion! It’s not what I order!! He can take it up and refund money. I want this to be done it over it been too long and stressful!
