      I was charged for no work actually being done. I asked for a diagnostic done on wiring that burnt out several lights. They spent all of 5 minutes looking at it to be told that they guessed the problem lay with the 3 different lights that were installed and all burnt out within 3 months of installing each of them. Their guess, not actually rooted in any fact or effort in true diagnoses, cost $250. I also asked for an outlet and wires to be removed. They took off the face plate and plug and charged me $300 for that.

      Yes, I called Mr. ********************** to set up a time to come out and switch one wall socket. My space heater knocked out power to my bedroom and didn't trip the breaker. My wall sockets are ****** chained in the main bedroom. They told me it would be $49.00 to come out plus parts and labor. When the tech arrived he told be it was $175 to switch out on e socket and if that didn't solve my issue he'll have to move and switch out another outlet at $175.00. I told him no, thank you.I purchased 10 wall sockets from amazon and switched all the sockets in my bedroom for less than $20.00. So I paid $49.00 for the tech to tell me it's $175.00 per socket.

      Good afternoon,

      I am responding to the below complaint from ******************** at ***************************************. My tech went out due to outlets not working in his bedroom as the letter states. The tech offered him to fix the issue with multiple options and the homeowner refused the services. Is it true that he can buy the outlets off amazon, yes. The issue is he called a licensed electrician out to his home who gave him the correct repairs with *** and ul listed material. We are required to install a tamper resistant outlet per the *** code. I apologize for him being upset but when a homeowner completes work on their own it is always going to be a lesser price. If you need mor information from me Ill be happy to reply. Have a great day.

      Thanks

      On February 28, 2024, I was contacted by the office of Mister Sparky for a request that I filled out on Thumbtack. I requested the following to be checked: The outlets throughout house, panel box, wiring in crawlspace, and the outlet on the wall where the cord from the electric stove plugs in. When the lady called me, all of that was explained to her. She made notes as we talked. She said that she could have someone out today. She told me that the service fee is $49 and would be waived if I hired them to do the repairs. I agreed. They came ontime. I explained what I needed them to check. They tested all the outlets in the house except the wall outlet behind the stove because I needed to explain the problem that I was having with the stove. I was told by ********* that all of the wiring in the outlets need to be repaired because the house is old. I took him to the panel box. After taking him to the panel box, he stated, this box is not up to code and asked when was my house built? I told him 1967. He said he needed to take the panel box off the wall and check it. Then he said it would be $99. I told him that I don't know anything about $99 because I was told the inspection was $49. He asked me who told me that it was $49? I told him the lady in the office told me and said the $49 would be waived if I get the work done. Also, when I went online to request services, it was listed as $49service fee, waived if hired to do the repairs. Nowhere in the statement stated $99. That's when the problem began. ********* handed me the pad to sign for the $49. I asked him about the outlet on the wall behind the stove. He looked down at it and said it looks fine, but I would have to pull the cover off to check it and that would be $99. He refused to check the wiring in the crawlspace. He told me the problem is in the furnace when I told him about the furnace being gas. I reported all of this to the office. A man called me Tuesday but refused to come out unless I pay him $99.

      Mister Sparky contacted me when I requested someone from Angis list - even though they are not on this list. The issue was a simple GFCI issue, & the tech found the button and pressed it and never fixed anything. They told me the charge to diagnose the issue was $49 & charged $219 after doing nothing. It is deceptive to state one charge and charge a different price when you arrive on site - especially if you dont do anything. Before stating the work, the tech assured me that I wouldnt be charged $219 if the issue was simple and he didnt have to do any work. After he completed the work he pretended that this conversation never took place. After multiple attempts to contact them I never heard from anyone. Im requesting a full refund from this deceitful business. Do not use.

      After reviewing this correspondence, we will be refunding the $219 to the customer.     Thanks for bringing this to our attention and apologize for any miscommunication and follow up on our part.

      On August 6, 2023 we had a lightning storm which hit a tree and surged to our detached garage. The strike damaged gutters, soffits and all electrical in the garage. The damage then traveled via underground wires from detached garage to main house circuit panel box. Mr. ********************** assessed damage on August 7, 2023 and gave an estimate of what needed repair to restore power. They also suggested we bring our house up to code which we opted to do.Mr. ********************** has sent us two invoices (#s ****** and ******) for the work which was completed on August 17, 2023. Although the invoices list all work, they do not give a breakdown of the cost for each item. We need additional information to provide our insurance. We have made multiple calls to Mr. ********************** over the last couple of weeks. Each time we have either talked with someone who assured us we would get a call back or we have left detailed messages on various voice mails. We have not received any return calls. At this point, our insurance company has closed the claim without any pay out. We cannot appeal the claim without information from Mr. **********************. We would like a detailed explanation of the damage of the lightning strike including how it entered house and the full damage caused from the strike. Mr. ********************** documented the damage including pictures when the assessment was made. None of this has been provided to us or our insurance company. We also need a breakdown of the cost of each item repaired so our insurance company can separate the costs of the actual damage and those we opted to bring our house up to code.

      We have reviewed this complaint and we are contacting the customer to support the effort of submitting detail to the insurance company for their reimbursement.      *********************************** who is the technician helping our customer will call today 10/19/2023 to assist in this effort.        Thanks, *********************;

      I am rejecting this response because: Mr. ********************** did not provide requested information. Insurance will not pay without a breakdown of the repair work. The breakdown must separate charges necessary for the repair from the lightning strike and charges for the upgrades to bring the house to code. We also requested an explanation of how the lightning strike entered the house and the damage caused. This will allow insurance to determine the necessary charges and justification of same charges.

      We did receive an e-mail on October 19 stating, "*********************************** from Mister Sparky Electric of ******* will be visiting you today." There was no visit and no messages were left on our voicemail.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

      I hired Mister Sparky to install an outlet on the ceiling in a room as prerequisite for my custom office. ******************* was dispatched to my home on May 2, 2023 for a consultation/estimate. He advised the rate would be $511.75. I felt the rate was too expensive and advised I would consider it. I was charged $49 for the dispatch. After receiving a few estimates I found Mister Sparky was by far the most expensive but I decided to move forward. On May 10, 2023 **** back. He initially advised it would be an easy job, but while trying to scope out the work he was visibly agitated and seemed unsure as to how to complete the job. So much so that I had to ask him if he knew what he was doing. Ultimately, he installed the outlet in the ceiling and confirmed the outlet was working by plugging my lamp into it. After which, I hired a guy to repair the hole in the drywall. On May 11, 2023 (the next day) ************************* came around noon to install my custom office. They installed the bottom half of the cabinets and without warning my internet shut down. I asked if they unplugged it and they advised they did not. At that moment, all the outlets in that room plus the lights in my pantry and kitchen were not working. We checked the breaker box and there was a red dot on the fuse for the room and I was unable to turn it off/on. The Closets by Design contractors assured me they drilled into wood so they could not have caused the issue. On May 12, 2023 **** came back to my home and advised the issue was between the outlets on the bottom on the wall. He blamed it on the Closet by Design contractors. They came back, cut holes in the wall where they drilled to proved there was no wiring there. We all checked but the **** insisted he did nothing wrong even though he could not prove it. I have been advised I will need to pay over $800 to fix the issue. Plus pay someone to fix drywall again. **** left for another job and will return tomorrow. 5/13/23. This is not fair! Horrible
