September 21,2022 $350 rental deposit To return my money once I moved out Ascent at Riverdale initially stated that I broke my lease, which was eventually overturned by the *********************** ******* that they hired. Ascent at Riverdale decided to keep my deposit, and applied it to the rent, that they say I owed, even though NCS told them I didn't owe them. It was a total of $1258.83, that they were seeking to recover from me, which included $360 for damages and cleaning, $893 for rent. I have work orders dating back to 2017, when I moved in about damages to the floors, and I moved out in 2021, which was caused by the multiple leaks. I put Ascent at Riverdale as a reference when I moved to my new place last year, because I just knew we were in good standings. The apartments told NCS that I terminated my lease, which was the first falsehood, because I signed a Notice to Vacate, and Non Renewal was checked, with a zero balance. The leasing agent did change the 60 day notice, which was required, to a 30 day notice. Leasing agent refused to walk unit because of Covid. Once I got my new apartment, I deleted every picture that I had, which would have showed that I cleaned the entire unit, I mean I lived their 5 years, which would have been normal usage. I've been Supervising the cleaning at ************ Dormitories for 15 years, so cleaning is my passion. I just don't understand how they can just take my money, and do whatever they want to do with. I was willing to not even worry about the deposit, because I knew the leasing agent did a favor. Just say, if I did not clean the place, or caused damages, then my deposit should go towards that, and not the rent, which the ******* that they hired, determined I didn't owe them rent, so they strong armed me, and took it.
