I live at this property and I'm filing a complaint because I was wrongfully charged a $35 fee twice for having an expired renters insurance document. My renters insurance has never lapsed and all required documentation were sent on time. I've talked to the property management team about this numerous times in person and via email. After speaking with the management team, I've been giving no solution to my issue instead I'm told they'll handle it and it has not been handle. Im writing this complaint because I want my reimbursement for both fees I wrongfully paid. I have all necessary documents to prove my renters insurance never lapsed in case they're required to receive my money back, I'll gladly take credit back on my next months rent.Initial Complaint

I have been in this apartment for about three years now and everything went to h*** almost after the first year. I have had floods from the bathroom from the rave outside. I have no AC and I havent had AC for about two years and I have submitted maintenance request with nothing being done. I have also, had a mold infestation that is still ongoing that they have done nothing about. I have also put in maintenance request for that issue also. The maintenance request are put in a completed status when no one has ever came to look at anything. They do not have an adequate maintenance team. But they want you to keep paying the rent when they are doing nothing. These conditions are unhealthy and I have small grandchildren and great nieces and nephews that cannot come to my home because of this these apartments need to be shut down!Initial Complaint

To whom this letter is received by My name is *************************** On 03/13/2023 | relocated to the state of ******* ** to provide a better living for myself and close ones around me. Four days later a close friend of mine suffered from a stroke. I had then become a caregiver and provider for myself and others. During the later part of April it was time to find a place to call home. On May 1,2023 I signed my First ever lease.Exciting I thought it would, a Nightmare in reality. I have 4 gapping holes in the ceiling, leaking pipes from all four points. These entry are all in major areas of the living space and extremely Hazards. 3 months the Property has known about existing issues and still nothing done to rectify them. At this current date three months have been reserved not paid to the property for the lack of. I have contacted code enforcement, they were denied by office management access to the unit I have contacted an attorney to represent on my behalf. I've been served with an eviction letter and now can not believe this scandal this property has put upon me. I have resorted all my resources so now I'm here in the hopes you can turn things around.Initial Complaint

Ive been a resident at legacy at riverdale 1 1/2 years and its been a horrible experience. When I had first moved in October 2021, the apartment was a disaster because the top of the ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room werent fixed and the wires are out in the open and they threw away a counter for my bathroom and they left one of the bathroom lights not repaired. Ive been paying my rent on time and theyve been over charging me for rental insurance but I already had rental insurance and I told them that I had changed my insurance policy and Im still getting charged and they never communicate with no one about the stuff and want to quick to evict someone because of something unnecessary. The maintenance men take forever to repair stuff in the apartment and they dont respond quickly to the service request. I had to wait a whole year and a half for them to fix my hot water but it still isnt fixed because they were waiting for a part and whatever long thats going to take. The apartment buildings are very old and theyre charging too much but havent fixed any damages. It took them so many times to actually fix my kitchen sink and I had put in a request for my patio blinds and no one came to fix that. Theyre awful and the worse apartments to stay at.Initial Complaint

I filled out an application for an apartment back in June of 2022. I was told I would hear from someone in ***** hours. I paid the application fee of $275. I waited a few days and never heard back from anyone. I called for several days and no one at the office would answer the phone. They dropped all communication. I even called back two weeks later and they would not answer the phone. I called my bank because I thought it was fraud and they took my application fee with no response or decision. A lawyer later called from ***************************** threatening me and stating I better pay the complex. The complex turned me over for collections. I am still unable to get them to answer the phone now. It is almost like they are screening my calls.Business response

We apologize if there was any confusion regarding this matter, but the fees paid to the property all came back to NSF due to non-sufficient funds in the account provided. I've attached copies of the ledger.
We have tried to contact you multiple times between 7/15 and 7/22 but never received a response from you. Please let us know if this information is incorrect so that we can help you clear up this conflict with your bank.

I am rejecting this response because no one tried reaching out to me. I received no phone call. I tried to call back several times with no response. I issued a claim to my bank after not hearing from Legacy. There were funds in the account. I filed a claim after not hearing or getting a response from the company. The *** is incorrect. You all did not try to give me a call or pick up the phone when I called over a period of time.

on Monday June 13th the head of maintenance called me and said that Wednesday I was getting my tub refurnished and to remove everything from the bathroom. Wednesday the whole entire day no one showed i didn't leave home this time because the last four times i left home for this they didn't show up again. June 15th at 3:36pm i was home about to go to my sons birthday gathering he was having. **** the rent office lady knocked on my door with a familiar maintenance guy that approached me one day at the mailbox asking for my number. I had company. First of all I feel like that's rude and very unprofessional that she not only came to my door but discussed my personal business in front of others I'm sure my neighbors were listening in the walls very thin. That is very embarrassing. The questions she asked at the door were. so ************* what's your plan do you have a plan on how you going to pay your rent? my answer. Didn't the lady that was helping me with rental assistance pay you already she replied. yea but it wasn't enough so we cant accept the payment so what's your plan cause you behind i replied well can we discuss this in private cause at this point i start feeling a kind of way. I've been calling cooperate for more than 6 months trying to inform them that they kept lying to me about the tub being refurnished. I was leaving my house every week almost everyday trying to make sure they fixed the tub no one ever came and wouldn't take anything off my rent. please help me get in touch with their management team because I cant reach anyone and even though they cant help me with rent they should know about the kind of people their working with. Before they walked off she gave me a piece of paper with a picture of peoples things by the dumpter saying dont let this be you this could have been handle totally different I am bipolar i have anxiety depression and ptsd.Initial Complaint

My sister, *************************** has been living at Legacy at Riverdale in Riverdale, Ga for 3 years and since the beginning the complex has been having emergency water outages, emergency plumbing repairs, water shutoffs and water inspections. The average length of time when this happens is about ***** hrs. A few dates are as follows: 10/26/20 (emergency water repair), 9/20/21 (water was shut off to building ****), 11/12/21 (water repair- ******* countys water authority was involved), 11/18/21 (water was shutoff due to a property emergency and wasnt restored until 11/19/21), 3/28/21 (emergency plumbing repair which the notice came out 10 mins before it was shutoff and no notice as to when it was coming back on), 4/29/22 (emergency water repair from 11pm-11am), 4/30/22 (water to building H will be shut indefinitely and tenants were told that they have until Friday, 5/6/22 to move out of their units permanently). As of 4/30/22, Legacy at Riverdale will be housing all tenants in building H at the Comfort Inn Suites and Country Inn Suites until Monday 5/2/22.Initial Complaint

I've been asking the apartment complex to fix the pot holes in the neighborhood, they're are really bad they keep filling them with rocks. I've had to replace two tires on my car they are literally all over the apartments. Also, I've been begging them to help with an infestation that I have had since they moved me in, it has become worse, and worse I wasn't allowed to see the apartment during Covid now I'm living with a really bad infestation. They told me that I can go buy the products it's totally unacceptable! Also, my lock is loose you can see into my apartment it looks like it was tampered with I called 2 days ago and asked the rent office to send someone no one never came I had to get my Dad to fix it, when I called today to ask why they did come out, she was really short had an attitude and disregarded my safety. I need help. I have videos the format is too large to send
