I went into the store on a Monday after noon, trying to return 2 pieces of rompers and some shoes as well and eyelash glue. An associate got a manager to help out with the return because the tags that were on the clothing werent matching up to my receipt, but I havent been to citi trends in weeks so its beyond me how I could just come up with old tags and swap them. Basically the manager copped an attitude and told me that we cant do anything for you because the tags didnt match the items I were returning.To my understanding, the manager that check me out August 3 that day was the one that scanned all my clothes that were on the receipts? So this raises major red flags to me because why would I sit here and bring you guys completely different Citi trend tags like it just doesnt make any sense. So I came in there with no issue, no attitude. But usually in establishments like this where theres a lot of black females working there will be attitude, and there will be something said that doesnt make sense that shouldnt even be said. I told his manager that either her or her staff is the reason why these tags dont match up to the items that I bought. Either that or the Manager switched out some items and made it seem like I bought what I had when I actually did it and I probably bought something that she wanted. When I had my back turned to get the code for the extra 10% off. So the manager raises her voice and tells me that ** lying and tells me that I got these tags from somewhere else, and she even goes out her way to say that shes old enough to be my mother. Which is an absolute insult because Im 30 years old and my mother is light skin. My mother isnt dark skin like her so the fact that she even said some crazy like that raises more red flags and she doesnt need to be a manager with that type of attitude at allInitial Complaint

I purchased some jewelry for a specific reason and ended up not needing it. I went to return the items and was told there’s no refunds on jewelry. I was not aware of this upon purchasing the items as I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE JEWELRY IF I HAD KNOWN. There was no signs posted and the sales lady said nothing when taking my money. The persons working today informed me that someone had taken the sign down and said it was printed on the receipt, which it is not. I took a video noting there is nothing stating there’s no refunds on he jewelry.i have no income coming in and I do not have money to just be giving away. I just want my money back.Initial Complaint

Yes 1 day last week first week of month I went to a Cititrends in *********** **. I bough a sweatshirt and matching pants when they were taking off security buttons they put hole in bottom of pants when I contacted store they were very nasty and rude and hung up phone 3 times on me saying I couldn't exchange them because they didn't know who put the hole in them 1st of all I had just bought them that day and why would I put a hole in them! No sense first wanted exchange but when couldn't get a response I bought same bottom pants at there stockbridge store so now asking for a refund on the ruined pair have all receiptsInitial Complaint

I was charge twice and I have try calling and email and no response I went back to the store and i was told to dispute the charge with my bank and it have been 4 days and they still have not resolved the problem I was told something was wrong with they machine and that’s why I was charge which don’t make sense I feel like they stole my money and I call the Corporate office I never get no one I have email but no response I would like to get my money back so I pay twice for my layaway and on the the Receipt it show that I paid once but my bank show twice and I show it to the manger she said she didn’t know if it was still pending but it show that it had posted and she pretend to call Corporate but did not give me the name of the person she spoke to or an report number or phone number to call I just need my money backInitial Complaint

On Saturday 1/21/2023 5:33:49pm store number ***** Reg 03 tran:****** assoc: ******* total $51.69. I wanted a refund that same day (1/21/23)for (2) pack bras and one pack of boxers. They were not worn and the tags are still attached. Asked for a refund and I was told to come back because all the systems were down at all Cititrends. I left came back on Sunday around 2 ish pm. The same guy proceeded to tell me the same thing. So I told him that I called another location. And they said they can do refunds. He being to walk to the register. And he said I can check. So we looked in my bag and said we can’t return these items. I asked why it is not stated on the receipt. He said that they were under garments and we can’t take them back. So I will like a refund on my items. I can not use them and if I would have known this information before this I would have made that judgment for myself.Initial Complaint

I purchased only a suitcase and nothing else .anyways on my way to the airport the wheel broke off i immediately called manager and sent pictures of suitcase and my bank statements of purchase. He asked for receipt and I explained that I was on a trip for 30 days and would not be able to give him that but that I did have proof of purchase he said his supervisor said it was not excepted. Is this how society is doing things these days I completely understand you need to be cautious because of so many scammers however I have all the proof.Initial Complaint

Purchased a pair of boots on 4/2/2022 from Cititrends on ********* ***** in ************ **. After purchasing the shoes took them home and wanted to wear them that evening. Placed my left foot in boot and was immediately cut by a sharp metal object sticking out of sole of the boot. Looked in the boot and saw what appeared to be a staple like object protruding from boot. At that time I immediately attended to the injury received to my foot. Afterwards, I turned boot to see if object was present from bottom side in which it was not able to be seen. I was unable to attend my function that evening due to the injury, pain and some swelling. Woke up the next morning was still having redness, pain and swelling. Was unable to walk on that foot. Decided to go to doctor’s office for above complaints and to deter any infection. Was seen on 4/3/2023 in which antibiotics were ordered and couldn’t return to work for 2 days. Called the headquarters office starting Monday morning left messages and was finally able to speak to someone after continuously calling on 4/7/2022. Spoke with *** **** ****** who referred me to *** ******* ****. Have had a few conversations with them both *** ****** initially then *** **** by phone and e-mail. Was lastly told by *** **** that due to the fact that they cannot get manufacturer information from Cititrends they cannot proceed cannot give me an estimated time frame of when this matter can be resolved.Initial Complaint

Hello my name is ******* ******* I need to contact someone regarding a employee not refunding my dress at Citi Trends located at **** **** ******* ***. I never wore the dress and the tag was still attached. The refund policy states that a refund or exchange can be done as long as the tags is attached. I kindly asked her name. She said her name is ********. She wasnt even the one at the counter assisting me. She was standing across the room and told the cashier not to let me exchange my dress because lent/fur was on the dress but I told her that I bought the dress that way. And the fact that it’s a black dress, lent is gonna be visible. I felt very embarrassed in front a lot of customers. That was bad service that I will never forget. I wanted to exchange my dress because the size was too big and they don’t allow customers to try on clothes. They don’t realize that’s inconvenient enough having to go back to the store to return something that’s too small or too big. When she told me I couldn’t return my dress that hit me so hard til the point I don’t want shop there nomore. I would like this situation to be resolvedInitial Complaint

I went to return my daughters new jeans she got for Christmas. She didnt like them bc they were itchy to her and she is autistic & has issues with certain textures. I thought it would be a quick in & out errand. I had my receipt. Ive never been so disrespected in all my life at a business. I was at Cititrends ********. I waited 25min w no one in front for a return the cashier said she wasnt trained on. I was polite to her. But the manager i opened the associates back door & said the wait was ridiculous. She then proceeded to scream at me & lie & say i went in the back room. When she came to the front it was about 35mins & she refused to do the return & told me i was banned from her store. All while yelling at me. Of course im going to yell back. I said it is not your cashiers fault shes not trained to do a return. & its not my fault you had a truck. She continues to yell & told me to leave. All i wanted was my small refund. & id never shop in that store ever again being treated like that. I called the cops & she claimed id be arrested over nothing. They tried to convince her to give me my refund but she refused & lied about me. I said check the cameras. I didnt do anything like going all the way in the back room & cursing at her. She yelled at me so of course i defended myself. This manager & location is a disgrace! I just want my money back for poorly made jeans.Business response

My apologies but this is the first notice I have received about this complaint.
Once I received this and looked up the complaint I had the Regional Vice President immediately contact the customer in order to resolve their issue.
The Regional Vice President, **** ****** has tried to call her but her phone is not in service. He then sent her an email with his phone number so she can call him directly in order to resolve this issue.
We will re-train our associates in that store along with making sure that she receives her refund for the defective merchandise.
