The service department customer service is ridiculous. I’ve been calling for a month to speak with a manager and I never received a phone call back yet to this day. Customers should not have to wait months to received a service on their vehicle.Review from Destyn G

I brought my car to Hyundai AutoNation of Savannah on January 12, 2024, due to a check engine light. It has taken nearly four months for the dealership to diagnose the problem and inform me that the engine has failed. Initially, I was told the issue was the camshaft, then the rod bearing, and finally the pistons after they found a warranty for the rod bearing. The shifting explanations were confusing and frustrating. When I inquired about the root cause of the engine failure and why the reasons kept changing, I was told, "we are all human," which is an unacceptable explanation for such significant and costly issues. Furthermore, none of the information about the rod bearing problem was communicated to Hyundai's corporate office, despite a known recall involving over 129,000 vehicles, including mine, that required engine replacements due to premature rod bearing failure. The dealership's communication has been consistently poor. Questions about my vehicle are often met with defensiveness and lack of clear answers. Additionally, I have been given four different estimates for the cost of a new engine, adding to my frustration and distrust. Despite appealing to Hyundai Corporate for assistance, their decision was based on inaccurate information provided by the dealership. As a result, I still do not have my vehicle and am deeply dissatisfied with the service at Hyundai AutoNation of Savannah. The entire experience has left me believing that this business is severely corrupt and lacks the professionalism and integrity expected from a reputable dealership. I strongly advise others to be cautious and consider alternative options for their vehicle service needs.Review from Jay M

My wife and I purchased a brand new 2024 Tucson Hybrid. We had went to 7 dealerships in 4 states looking until we got what we wanted. We bought it October 2nd and we went through 3 temporary tags! They claim the holdup is with our state of North Carolina and they sent tax, tag and title requests on 10/23. I went straight to Raleigh and was informed that the dealership charged ME the appropriate taxes, but didn't pay THEM a dime! The state sent back correspondence 10/30. Now here we are in 2024 riding on a THIRD temporary tag! When I contact them, I keep hearing that the tag specialist is out on leave (umm...ever heard of a backup contingency plan?). When the tag specialist FINALLY got back I find out she is in the Volkswagen building and that "it takes time to get to her". Meanwhile, I've paid months ahead of time on this vehicle and call after call, text after text, my wife and I hear nothing. The only response I get are that "around the holidays, things get slow". Which holiday was it that prevented your dealership from paying taxes that you gladly took from me at the sale? Columbus Day? Halloween? Veterans Day? Thanksgiving? Hannukah? Christmas? New Years? Because we've seen them all come and go with no answers or legal plates. I swear these people should never have to pay for a colonoscopy! They should be able to see what's up there for free since that's where their heads are! Speaking of free; if I ever do get a plate, if it comes with a bill, you can bet I won't pay for it and drive this thing to the dealer closest to me and tell them to send it back with my lawyers information for breach of contract and buy locally from a reputable dealer! If you live out of state I have two words for you...CAVEAT EMPTOR! Just like everyone else here, I wish there was a zero star option! UPDATE: Finally got the tag after dealing with the local tag office who sent a demand request from the Attorney General offices of both North Carolina and Georgia.Review from Hallie B

If I could give them a zero rating I would! My 2022 Elantra was taken into service on June 9th due to my sunroof leaking. To this day (08/28/2023) my sunroof has not been fixed and the dealership is not willing to work with me on getting the issue resolved. Between June and August, my car was in and out of the shop 3 times trying to fix the problems, and every time they claimed to have "fixed" it. But when I would do my water testing, the sunroof was still leaking. Throughout this whole process, I constantly had to come in and get a different rental car pretty much every 2 weeks I had to switch out (some might think that is a big deal, but a single mother constantly moving a car seat is a big deal). Throughout this process, I was never able to get in touch with anyone. I would have to call back to back for hours to get to someone. When I received my car back they claimed to have detailed it. But when I got my car it smelled and the headliner was disgusting, with black fingerprints and orange stains. Some of my seats had sticky residue on them as well.Review from Kyra G

If I could give a zero star rating I would! This dealership service department does not meet customer needs and service needs as they say they do. Maybe my experience is a little different from others that *** have been to this location in Savannah , Georgia. But since the drop off of my vehicle on May 11th or 12th - till now( July19th) and counting. The experience has been TOTAL BS!May 11th or 12th ***** First they tell me the the diagnosis normally takes **** days to complete, we waited patiently , and no call back within that time frame,We continuously had to call ********************** back to speak with advisors , they either dont answer or say they will call back and never do. I understand the busy hours of a dealership and service cars and setbacks that *** occur! But you cant keep your customers on edge and with not communicating the updates to keep them from worrying about what is wrong with the vehicle. That should be a top priority in CUSTOMER SERVICE!The car was eventually diagnosed for a bad turbo around end of May to the beginning of June the service advisor tells us they will order parts under warranty that is covered*They Ordered the parts and waited to be called , once again. Had to call the service department myself no call backs , no updates from anyoneWe call back In 2 or so weeks later and the turbo arrived and was ready to be installed by a technician assigned, they say it should be ready in a couple days from then .We are notified that our car should be ready for pickup on a Friday ,Friday arrives and we drive 4 hours away to finally pick up our car , believing that the car is in great shape to be drove back home. But to our surprise June 24th, 2023:We get to the dealership and the car has not had the turbo installed by the technician for some odd reason and we have wasted gas and time FOR BS Being fed to us over and over again!Review from Jamie B

Good people at first, but when you need them again they won't help. Bought my 2021 Hyundai Sonata February 25, 2023. Today is April 12th, 2023. My temp tag is expired. They didn't have my title when they sold the vehicle to me. It was with the previous ************************* bank. So now I have a vehicle to make payments on and I can't drive it. They don't care. I called corporate and they don't even care. Please help me.Review from Diaminique M

To summarize this whole review, DO NOT CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH AUTONATION HYUNDAI in Savannah, GA.I bought my Hyundai when it was Peacock and those were some fantastic individuals. AutoNation? Absolutely horrendous, and its all to do with the service department. What it boils down to is they do not have the staff, or so they claim. The point of an appointment is that I have a spot reserved that day to have my problem addressed. On two separate occasions, I was either told they did not have someone to look at my vehicle or they werent sure if they did. This was only amplified by the fact my appointment was made over a month prior. Long story short, it seems they cannot handle the workload, which is okay if they managed this appropriately and had a better form of communication with people. I was told by an employee that they handle 40 plus vehicles a day, but somehow when it was my time, no one could address my problem. I have found a new Hyundai dealership down the road a bit, but they told me they just started accepting appointments again because they were so backed up that they had to stop accepting them. My problem was diagnosed, a part ordered and I was on my way within two hours. That seems like a smart way to run a service department, but Im not in that field of work so Ill digress.Simply put, do not get a vehicle from AutoNation Hyundai in Savannah unless you plan on using a separate service department. Heaven forbid you have any troubles with your vehicle, you will waste days of your time and they will NOT fix the problem you are having but merely say we dont have someone to look at it today despite today being the day you scheduled and was given an appointment for.Review from Theresa G.

I purchased my 2017 Hyundai Sonata off their lot. The car was brand-new. Fast forward to now, AutoNation has had my car since April 09th and would not give me a Loaner or rental.Autonation Hyundai Savannah Response

We have spoken to the customer multiple times explaining that the part (ECU) that is needed for her vehicle is on backorder until the end of June. We have also informed her to reach out to Hyundai ************************ ************** to see if they would reimburse her for a rental car. We do not have service loaners at this time because of the shortage across the country of new vehicles.
