Additional business information
Consumers report that TLS, LLC's ads are appearing on well-known employment websites such as Indeed.com, promoting opportunities to work from home as "Warehouse Inspectors" and "Warehouse Supervisors."
Consumers who applied for the positions were asked to repackage shipments, relabel them, and forward them on to new addresses. They were told that they would be paid after their first 30 days, however individuals contacting BBB have reported that after performing the work, the company failed to pay them and then became completely non-responsive.
One consumer reported that the job listing claimed that individuals could earn $2,000 a month plus a $40 bonus per package shipped for an anticipated average monthly income of $3,800.
While the company offers a website at www.tls-post.com, BBB believes the site was developed only to attempt to add authenticity to job promotions. Website registration shows the site was just launched on January 3, 2021, and the address listed on the website belong to a distribution center in Tifton, GA that is not believed to be connected to TLS, LLC.
BBB is continuing to investigate TLS, LLC further and will be updating this report as warranted. In the meantime, BBB offers the following tips on reshipping scams:
The US Postal Inspection Service reports that employment offers to repackage items often involve packages containing merchandise bought with stolen credit cards or counterfeit money orders. Keep in mind that if you get involved in a repackaging scheme that does involve stolen merchandise, your address will be the one showing as the point of delivery of the goods.
Pay attention to unusual procedures. Job offers without interviews are a red flag of employment scams. Be very suspicious if an unfamiliar "employer" or recruiter asks for your Social Security number, birth date, bank account number, or other private information that could be used to steal your identity.
Ask questions. If you want to take advantage of a work-from-home opportunity, you'll need to do your research. The FTC's Business Opportunity Rule has safeguards in place to make sure you have the information you need to tell whether a work-at-home opportunity is a risky business. Under the Rule, sellers have to give you a one-page disclosure document that offers key pieces of information about the opportunity. Use the information in the disclosure document to fact-check what the seller tells you. Get as much information as you can about the job before accepting the offer.
Report the bad actors. You can report employment, reshipping and work-at-home scams to BBB ScamTracker, the Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and your state's Attorney General's Office.
