I had my car towed to this body shop because I rear-ended someone on April 27th. My check engine light was NOT on when they got my car and it was not on after the wreck nor any of the time before the wreck. When I picked up my car, it had a check engine light and I immediately called the shop. They claim that they saw the code and that it was for a camshaft position sensor and that insurance would not cover it because it was from before the wreck. I don't believe that because it was never on before they got it. They never called me during the process to even offer me the opportunity to let them fix it even though it happened while it was in their possession. I would have paid for the part if needed. But this happened while they had it because it was never on before. They obviously knew it would happen because they were able to tell me immediately what it was on. On top of being told three different times it would be ready and leaving broken pieces all in the back of my car, the least they could do is give me my vehicle back the way that they got it. They either broke the sensor or got it dirty, but it happened with them and they should have replaced the sensor. For almost 6 thousand dollars of repairs, that was horrible service. So now I am expected to put out another 7 or 800 dollars for Kia to fix it, when the body shop did it?

Sorry for the late response ******** I would rather received a phone call if this was a “High importance” situation. I am not normally sitting at my desk checking emails.

This issue has been resolved and was not part of the customers claim. We are in good standing with the customer. This was my first and only complaint in 20 years. Please do not let this tarnish my standing.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I made this complaint immediately at the time the situation happened. The owner reached out to me since then and resolved the situation. I just did not know how to get back into this claim to update it.

      Regards,
