They work with ******** and they dont communicate and help themselves to your money when it comes to fees. I have documentation and proof of everything and would also like to be part of a class action. Honestly this company shouldnt even get one ??Review from Jeff W

My 93yr old grandfather has dual citizenship with ****** & the ** - he recently visited after many decades away and was eager to set up online banking in person. Roadblocks have persisted in the past due to his hearing loss, time zones while calling internationally, and the phone number associated with the account no longer being accessible. At the ****** St ************************** kindly greeted us. She did her best to help us even though the branch's iPad was out of battery and the signup system was down ***********************, head bank teller, had advised for us to use instructions they could print for us and set up the online banking at home (why would we physically go to the bank if this couldve been done at home?!) indifferent!Fast fwd a couple days and same signup issue with phone verification. After e-mailing *******, he provided a number for us to call. Nobody answered on Saturday so I proceeded to the call center. Unfortunately, rep **** didnt understand our issue, so we moved to her supervisor, *********************, who said I couldnt translate for my grandpa or speak on behalf of him given security issues. She eventually agreed to speak to my grandpa directly, where she asked for his account number. He didnt have that and offered to provide his SSN. He was then asked for the branch where the account was originally opened - correct answer. ***** then asked my grandpa for his Hawaii driver's license number but this is not something he can provide. He lives in ****** and no longer drives. ***** wanted to end the convo. The call was placed at 2:22pm and lasted 29-mins (their scheduled closing time, 3pm). I proceeded to complain and express my frustration. She hung up on us. Poor service and extremely unprofessional - hanging up on customers We were finally assisted by *************************** and **** at the branch on *********** that Monday. The patience they gave us is a ***** contrast to the customer service given by other employees. Even with this, the bad experience lingers.American Savings Bank Response

I opened up a deluxe business account with them back in February 2022. According to the brochure, all wire transfers over 5k had a ***** fee. After running the business for the last 6 months I noticed all my wire fees were *****. I walked into the bank to make a complaint, grabbed a business brochure that they had there in the office to show a discrepancy. I was told that they changed their fees back in February but had not updated their brochures yet. I was basically lied to while opening the account, now paying double the fees that I was initially told I would pay. Their response was pretty much can't help you. I would like to file a class action lawsuit against ASB numerous customers myself included have had this bank take advantage and steal our money unjustly I had my security deposit box broken into July 6 2021 money loss.of 10K in family jewelry from my late husband plus my ID and cc, I should have filed a report sooner I did in August 2021. but the police do nothing as does the bank. I wired **** to a scammer for a deposit for ********** car and lost my money and they said nothing they can do 8/21 My social security checks were placed on hold by ******************* ******** Branch a government issued check they tried to keep!!! I told them Im coming back with the police They said ***** put a hold on my account for my behavior! My behavior in ******* branch I went to my other security box to make sure nothing was stolen from there and the manager *************************** forged my signature twice So when I confronted them about the fraud they closed my account with the money still in it and BS charges to keep more of my money and put my account on hold which only ********************* can get into these people are the biggest scammers in Hawaii dont be fooled by ACH, checks online banking their employees have told me they can see your password and all your account info told to me by the cust serv rep ****** ****** Foodland branch Sepr 21 once I got my money out what was left of it- a total loss of *******KAmerican Savings Bank Response

Like many financial institutions, we are governed by federal and state regulations that have checks and balances in place to protect our customers and ourselves. For your protection and ours, we do not possess the keys necessary to open safe deposit boxes, only lessees can access their boxes. Since September 2021 ASB worked with you on addressing your claims, by which all remain unsubstantiated. After your recent November 2021 branch visit, ASB felt it was best we part ways. This bank did not work with me. They closed access to my online inquiries and were extremely rude and criminal because they forged checks again and again and changed my address so I had no way to get into my bank account via online and my statements were mailed to another address the safety deposit was accessed at ******** 7/6/2021 I never came into the bank that day and my jewelry and ID and credit cards were missing the box was empty they wouldnt even check security cams. ***** the Branch Manager was very h helpful as well when I discussed without attitude what was happening and when people lie and forge your signature steak your jewelry at the ******** and ****** branch you dont even do an inquiry when you can see the money was withdrawn. The ** couldnt even get into my account no one can Only ******************* lol. The teller was ***** which I only saw once in February 26, 2021. The box was accessed 7/)/2021 ***** gave them access to my box. Its all documented the forgeries are documented I dont think that is working with your customer May ******* my bank card was used to purchase airline tickets which was not me and confirmed through Hawaiian air and the bank refused to make any further inquiries and closed my account. So if you want someone to hijack your money your identity and send your financial matters to unknown addresses and block you from accessing your money and agiIm Im talking over a hundred thousand dollars the biggest mistake I made in Hawaii financially was with opening up an ASB account I have long term banks I have used for twenty years my credit is stellar. Do you think Im making this up? This is the attitude of the bank and the provide no protection for your money I have even given them police report information they dont care and basically I will have to hire an attorney and forensic accountant which will cost me $200000 to recover $200000. So that is the ONLY ONLY reason why I am not taking further action cutting my losses as a horrible ****** LEARNED to NOT trust this company with my money!
