We Hired Drees Company *******, ** to for our home renovation project May 2023 to March 2024. This included all new heating, aircraft, plumbing and electrical. For the past week our wired fire and carbon monoxide detectors have been going off randomly. The first issue occurred on Monday July 22nd about 1pm. When we initially notified the company, we were told by ***************************** "What do you want us to do about it" while the alarms were going off. They did not send any technicians over or give us any support. We eventually contacted ****************** to ensure there was no carbon monoxide issues to which they immediately dispatched someone. Finally on Tuesday morning Drees send some "kids" out to replace all the smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detectors to try and resolve the issue. We did notice them putting the ones they took done back in the boxes of the one's they bought which makes me wonder if they are reusing them. Starting on Friday July 26th we have the alarms going off, twice for a short period of time then now going off constantly. The first response from **** Drees at the company was "we had the same problem and we had to vacuum then out to get construction dust out of them" This seems to be their standard response to issues, yea it happens try and fix it yourself. By the time I am writing this **** is not responding to us and the fire chief in on his way to see if he can silence the alarms. We have communicated that this is a life safety issue, and the house is basically unoccupiable at this point. It seems to me a company the size of Drees should have staff that can be dispersed for emergencies. The level of service and the issues we have had are unacceptable. I would expect them to test and potentially replace any defective wiring and breakers associated with the detectors, change from Kidde Detectors to another manufacturer across the house refund the money we paid for this as well and for the inconvenience it has caused.Business response

We started a project with Ed ***** ************************* in the early months of 2023 doing electrical, plumbing and hvac work. Ever since the beginning of this project, ********, especially ******, has been extremely rude and mean to our employees. Threatening with calling their boss, making mean comments to them, and generally harassing them. We have had to replace the employees working there several times because our employees refuse to work there in those conditions. It has gotten so bad that employees also refuse to take their calls. An employee stated that "they don't even treat us as human". I made all of our employees aware that I will be the contact person for them because I don't want them to take the harassment anymore. I made ****** aware to contact me directly.
Last week - ****** made several calls regarding her garage door opener. We did not install the opener but did install the remote key pad at no charge. She said that we never programmed it correctly. After she harassed several employees again here, I reached out to ****** about it. I asked her if she purchased the opener through us - which she hadn't. She said our technicians should have told her there was a remote in the box of the garage door opener - how would we possibly know that since we didn't install it? (see attached)
****** called in that her smoke detectors were beeping every once in awhile. She was concerned about Carbon Monoxide. I called ****** at 5 pm to tell her to call her gas company. She didn't answer and I left a message. i explained to her to call her gas company so they could check for carbon monoxide. I told her in my message that they will do this at no charge and after hours - it was better to be safe then sorry. I never heard back from ******. The following morning she called myself, her husband sent a threatening email to Howie Drees, she called *****************************, *******************, ************************* and our service dispatch. These are all employees at Drees Co. harassing all of them. The smoke detectors were beeping again randomly. We sent two technicians, not kids, up to replace every smoke detector at no charge. This is discrimination regarding their age.I reached out to ****** again at 11:54 to see if everything is working. She said she thought so or her dogs would be going crazy. After she notified me again that it was still beeping, we reached out to the manufacturer. I suggested to ****** that the remodel dust could be affecting them as we had that same issue at our own home. We were trying to figure out why it was beeping.
I then went to visit my 91 year old dad at his assisted living. For some reason, I do not get cell service there. ****** couldn't get ahold of me for this hour and left a threatening text and voice mail. I apologized to her for visiting my dad. I told her we would have a technician there at 5:00 pm - who we also had to pay extra to go because all of the other technicians refuse to go there. This technician replaced the detector in the garage again and I assume this took care of it or I know I would have gotten several more nasty messages from her.
We feel that we have gone out of our way to take care of these customers. I can forward so many attachments - from so many different employees here that have gotten threatening emails and texts from them. We now understand why they went with our company, because no other companies will work with them.

I am rejecting this response because this is simply not true, we have had to contact numerous times because unless we reach out repeatedly our concerns have been ignored or not taken seriously. We also feel that Drees company staff have not taken my wife seriously with her concerns because she is a female, if there has been bias and discrimination it has been on the part of their employees. I am literally shocked by this response and fine it extremely offensive. Instead of actually addressing the facts of the complaint they have proceeded to personally attack us at their customers. None of the response address any of the requested methods to address the issue.

Here are just some of the email correspondence we have had with ********. (I was not able to attach all of them but can provide them if needed.) Every time they contacted us, we responded.
We did change out all of the smoke detectors last week with new ones. We did put them back in the original boxes so that we could send them back to the manufacturer for warranty - we don't sell used products.
These detectors are working and we did all of this work at no charge. We will not be compensating for something that they were never charged for.
