I sent in my 1911 pistol for refinish ************** job in May 2023 to ***. I received the 1911 back from *** in Aug 2023 thru my FFL. I received the **************************************** a carton box. Upon a quick inspection at the **** i took it home and kept it in the way I received the 1911 from *** in a safe. I finally get a chance to finally cleaned the oil off the ******************************************************* Nov 2023. Once the oil is wiped down and further inspection I noticed a imperfection on the finishing of the 1911. I contacted *** about the imperfection that I found but they said they would not fix the issue unless I pay them again for the refinishing work. They said they are confident that their gunsmith would not have missed the imperfection but cant provide any proof thats the case and blaming me instead for the imperfection.Really disappointed with their service and their handling in the matter.Business response

In response to the complaint, we chrome plated the complete pistol. And we shipped it back in August of 2023, he received the pistol in early August of 2023 and said a quick inspection was done at the **** Then he took it home and was going to shoot it in November of 2023. You can rest assured the damage to the chrome plating was not there when the pistol left here. Somewhere between the dealer and the customer damage to the chrome was done. We do not ship any of our custom pistols with damage to the finish. If he wants to send it in for inspection to us here, Les will inspect the pistol. We do not perform below par work here at Les Baer Custom!Customer response

I am rejecting this response because I already sent them the pictures of the imperfections so they knew whats the issues and what they need to do to repair. I am attaching it again for them to see. Its more visible on certain angle that probably why their gunsmith missed it since I missed it when it was drenched in oil. Only after a thorough cleaning offf the oil you can see it under light.I will only send it back to them if they would confirm they will repair their work with no additional charge on my end. The last thing I want is to them to take my ********************************* to pay for the work that they didnt do right the first time. If they would repair it free of charge I will ship it back to them and I will pay for the shipping cost which I think its fair.

I am rejecting this response because Les Baer Custom STILL has NOT answer my question is they would provide the rechrome service of the pistol FREE of CHARGE.Please reply with a Yes / No Answer to my propose T&Cs Below:
- I (***********************) will be responsible to pay for the shipping of the pistol from my FFL to LBC and return shipping.
- Les Baer Custom will rechrome the pistol to the original ordered refinishing service (polished chrome) FREE of Charge.

I sent a pistol to Les Baer Custom with a cover letter dated February 16, 2021. I made numerous telephone calls during 2021 and earlier in 2022. The business did not follow up on their verbally promised delivery dates and I sent a registered letter dated June 21. 2022 requesting my property be returned within ten days. It was not.I telephoned during the week ending on August 5, 2022 and was again told the work would be completed soon. Les Baer Custom has not given a verbal or written estimate.Enough is enough! Please help retrieve my property.
