Reservation was made with Hi Valley RV park in January 2023. Full months payment was made at the time of reservation of $525.00. My husband needed ************** surgery in April of 2023. ( he was electrocuted and was having foot problems). I called Hi Vally Park the beginning of April 2023 to notify them of this emergency, possible amputation and requested to cancel my reservation for June 10th 2023. I was told that my reservation would be canceled, but there would be a cancellation fee of 20% of my first months payment of $525.00. Upon questioning this, I asked if there was anyway for them to refund the entire amount, being as we had an emergency that couldnt be prevented, and, since Id contacted them so soon after the emergency, I was told absolutely not. I then questioned, if I contacted them the day of arrival would my cancellation fee be the same, I was told absolutely not, that in fact had I waited until the arrival date, my entire deposit would have been kept and nothing would be refundable. I have nothing in writing from Hi Valley RV park to warrant such a charge. Hi Valley RV park has indeed already booked the ** site I that I reserved, according to them the day after the day in which I cancelled, due to an emergency medical situation, , but still refused to issue a total refund which was made on my Discover card. I contacted Discover, they referred me back to Hi Vally ** park to try work out a refund, based on the circumstances, which i did, but was denied 20% of my $525.OO first months rental. Id certainly appreciate any help and communication that the BBB has with Hi Valley RV Park. All Im seeking is the 20& that Hi Valley RV Park kept due to an unforeseen emergency. I had a nice phone call with *******************************, I apologized and gave her a full refund. I also gave her a free weekend on us. customer was happy.
