I answered an ad for a 2013 dodge grand caravan offer up on 2/4/24 the ad stated no issues with the vehicle whatsoever. It also stated that the transmission oil was changed prior to sale. I looked at vehicle and test drove vehicle briefly and it seemed fine. Immediately after I purchased vehicle literally on my way home from the purchase the transmission began to slip and a check engine light came on. When a obd tester was put on vehicle it indicated a P 0470 code which is well known as a torque converter issue usually requiring replacement. A job that requires removing transmission and the cost for that is about 3000 dollars or more. I tried communicating with the dealer who sold me the vehicle asking that he make it right and he acted a** if he knew nothing about this problem. Obviously he knew something was wrong or he wouldn't have has the transmission oil changed prior to sale. I then offered if he would meet me in the middle if the costs and he refused still acting stupid and claiming he had no idea about this problem and refused to take any responsibility for deceiving me and refused to be honest and help me fix the vehicle.

The morning following my complaint to the BBB the dealership in question contacted me and said they were aware of my dissatisfaction with the vehicle, and wanted to take steps to see to my satisfaction. I told them that I wanted to dissolve the entire deal and return my money to me and I would return the vehicle. They were not willing to do that. However, they told me to get a few estimates to fix the transmission,  which I did. I sent them several estimates and we settled  on them returning  $1400 dollars to me. So I still have the vehicle and it will soon need transmission repair and it will cost me more than double the amount they gave me back so I will still lose out  on this deal. Please feel free to contact me further if you need to.
