We signed a contract with byDesign films on 11/15/21 for wedding videography on 10/01/22. The video was released to ** on 1/19/23. the project manager that was supposed to be in touch before the wedding to get details and wish list for the day never did They sent 2 videographers, 1 for drone footage & 1 regular. Once we received the video back, we realized that we got scammed. The video they gave us was awful and nothing like the videos they use for advertising. Mics didnt work - cant hear vows Bad camera angles During the ceremony the camera is on the ground angled up and a female guests crossed bare legs which is in the frame the entire time. It had the ENTIRE ceremony, speeches & 1st dances. It should be going in and out of the different parts of the day while doing voice overs from the ceremony, speeches, etc. The video was thrown together in a thoughtless and sloppy manner. It wasnt put together and edited well The camera is shakey. during the first dance, its literally the sound of the entire reception venue After we complained, their solution was have us go through and edit the video. With the footage available, a video worth $3,600 isnt possible. I couldve done a better job with my iPhone We paid the extra charge for drone footage. That drone was flying around ALL DAY LONG!!!! In fact it was a bit annoying during the ceremony. hardly any of that footage was included. After going back and forth with them for 4 months, we sent an email on 6/5/23 asking for a refund or an acceptable video of the quality of their advertising in a timely manner. They returned to us an edited video 3 months later - 9/8/23. It wasnt any better than the 1st, and they tried to fool us into thinking they got the vows by layering in someone elses voices. Communication has been HORRIBLE as you never have anyones contact info. You are given a generic email address and phone number and get passed around cause no one wants to deal with you. We had a virtual consultation with *****. She was very friendly and ensured us that they have a photographer who is perfect for us. The prices were great and some of the work I saw on their website was great. We then signed the contract on 2/14/2023 and paid $1,419.60. Our wedding date is 2/24/2024 so we have a few payments set up. After we signed the contract we were told a Project Manager would reach out to us to book the second photographer and our engagement photos. Never heard from anyone. I reached out numerous times to schedule a time to speak with someone. Never heard back. I then read other nightmare reviews that sound exactly like what I am experiencing. This is only a month in and already no communication once I signed the contract and paid the deposit. I asked to cancel the contract and be refunded the deposit. This is a year out and only one month into the contract, zero communication. They originally said we couldnt get our refund back, then they said they will refund us minus a $500 cancellation fee, that their cancellation fee recently changed. The cancellation contract stated we couldnt speak badly about the company or they will *** us. This is very bad business practice. This company is a complete scam. The only good reviews are fake. They are forcing people to sign a contract stating they will not speak badly to get some of their money returned. We want the rest of our $500 back, zero work was done on your end. On 10/4/22, my fiance and I signed a contract with ByDesign Films for photography and videography for our wedding on 9/23/23. We paid a deposit via credit card on October 11, 2022. The same day, "****************" advised that "********************" would be the main POC and we would hear from a project manager and receive a link to our portal within 10 days. That was the last correspondence we had, despite numerous attempts to follow up via email and phone calls. On 12/7/22, we emailed both parties listed above to request cancellation of the contract and a full deposit refund. Further investigation showed that the address provided to us for the "contract photographer" is a fake address and doesn't exist in ********* City property records. The contract we were provided does not list an address for ByDesign Films and we are unable to locate an address through online records. On 12/7/22, "********************" reached out to her "team" via email, however the company was ****** Street Photo, not ByDesign. On 12/21/22, "*******" said she sent a cancellation document via email, but no refund would be provided. They indicated that they were already making a concession by allowing the cancellation of the contract. After review and multiple attempts to call, we sent an email on 1/25/23 requesting a revised contract showing a deposit refund amount. We paid $1,750.06 for services never rendered. This is a fraudulent business practice and seems to be a trend with ByDesign.Initial Complaint

In January of 2022, I signed a contract with byDesign to shoot my wedding photos and videography. Since then I have paid them $2,924.85. It is now 9/07/22 and nobody has been booked for my wedding day. They falsely advertised their services and now Im less than three months from my wedding with no photographer or videographer. I have asked several times for a refund and I keep getting passed around to different project managers who say they will help but then never make contact again. We had a phone call with a project manager and she blamed their poor customer service on ********. I simply want my money back because nobody has been booked and I need the thousands Ive given them to book another photographer and videographer. They know Im unhappy and are not doing anything to process a refund. I had a call with a representative who said she would have a resolution for me by 9/2/22 but since then I have been unable to get in contact with her. The company has had 9 months to find a photographer and videographer for my wedding day. I just want my money back. Ive been in contact with other people who are working with them and have the same issue. Its impossible to get ahold of anyone and I have proof of their shady business practices. *** contacted an attorney who is reviewing the contract and records of communication because they are not holding up their end of the contract. I told them I want to solve this amicably but nobody responds to my pleas.Customer response
