On February 6, 2024, I contacted ************************* at Northern Wildlife Services to trap and remove skunks from my backyard. I paid $275 for each skunk removal and we agreed to two. On February 7, 2024, ****** and **** (his coworker) put two traps on my property to trap skunks. I sent them daily updates on the state of the traps. On February 12, 2024, I noticed something was in one of the traps and the next day (February 13, 2024) they removed the trap and the skunk, leaving one trap behind. When they dropped off the traps, ************************* assured me that we would keep the traps until we caught two skunks, in his words "no matter how long it takes, one day, one week, one month, or longer." Today, February 26, 2024, after weeks of no activity, I asked ****** if they would refund me for the second skunk removal since it appears there may have only been one skunk. Without any notice or communication, ****** showed up to my property, broke into the backyard without any notice, and tried to remove the trap. Our agreement was verbally and over texts. Northern Wildlife Services needs to refund me for the second skunk removal and they are not welcome to break into my backyard and trespass without notice or communication.Business response

I, K. ***************************, the owner of Northern Wildlife Services, went and set 2 traps with the understanding that I would have 24/7 access to the traps set as per law requirements. I collected one trap with a skunk and left the 2nd trap. We had a family emergency that required us to leave the state when my daughter was sent to a hospital in ******. Since I would not be able to get to the trap within a 24 hour time period, as per law requirements, my employee (******) notified the homeowner that I would need to pick up the trap and I would reset it once we get back to our home state the following week. When I arrived at the location to pick up the trap, I noticed it had been moved. The homeowner informed my employee that he was keeping the trap until he received a refund. My company charges for the number of traps that I set and service, regardless of whether an animal is caught or not. The homeowner was notified of this up front, hence the purpose of collecting payment at time of the traps being set. I reached out to Fish and Game who advised me to file a police report with ******* ***************** (****************) since it is illegal to pay someone to set a trap then move it to an unknown location where the *** (wildlife control operator) doesnt have access to it. Its also illegal to refuse someone possession of their own property. I filed a police report and an officer went and picked up my trap from the homeowner. Upon receipt of the trap, it was empty of the bait and dirty inside which indicated to me that there had in fact been an animal in it and the homeowner is just trying to get money back. My company will never do business with this individual again.
