Made reservation for parking in August 2024; plans changed and attempted to cancel reservation in September 2024 for parking in December 2024. They referred me to their policies of not giving refunds. Does not appear to be legal when I've attempted on multiple occasions to cancel the reservation and they have sufficient time to fill my 'reservation'.Business response

On 9/19/24, I used The Parking Spot app to reserve a spot at the *********************** location from 9/30 - 10/2 for a business trip, they charged my Amex card $69.27. I was able to get in and out of the lot with no issues On 10/14/24, I used the app again to reserve a spot at *********************** location from 10/22 - 10/24 for a business trip, they charged my Amex card $103.91. When I went to the lot to check in, they said my QR code to enter had already been used. I was in a hurry and needed to catch a flight, so I had to swipe my credit card to enter. I used my ***** bank card for this. I emailed The Parking Spot on 10/22 about the issue, they responded back that it seemed my prior reservation from 9/30 wasn't "closed" on their end. They were going to kick my request up to a "specialist". After that, I never heard back from anyone. When I went to leave the lot on 10/24, it accepted my QR code, but charged me $919.30. There was a lady at the gate and I explained the issue to her, she got on the phone and had them "close" the prior reservation and I had to swipe my card again to exit and I got charged $142.30. I didn't have time to argue with them again, there were people behind me and I needed to get home. I emailed them AGAIN on 10/26 about this and I haven't heard back from anyone yet I shouldn't have had to swipe my card and I shouldn't have been charged the $142.30 because all my reservations were made in advance and charged to my Amex card. I want my $142.30 back and I'm also going to dispute this charge with my bank,Initial Complaint

100 dollars has been taken from my bank account for **********************. I did not reserve and parking spot and I do not even have a parking spot account that I am aware of. I 100% did not reserve any parking. I wanted to call and deal with issue, but I literally can not find anyway to actually call anyone at the company. I need this taken care of ****. I don't have an extra 100 dollars that I did not spend.Business response

I purchased a car wash from the parking spot and parking services. When I returned they had left my lights on and my battery was completely dead. I had to go buy another battery, they owe me compensation for this battery.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:Not only did I sent the information to customer services. I got a call from a manager to speak to me about it. I couldn't speak at the time and asked him to call me at noon, which he did not do, have not heard from him since.
I have submitted this to the email they sent me and received response of receipt but no action.

I emailed customer two times no response regarding i needed to modify my reservation because my flight was cancelled on Thursday due to the hurricane reservation *********. I was double charged on 8/29/24 for a parking reservation. My account has subsequently been cancelled with no record of my reservation. This is a fraudulent business practice and despite numerous attempts I cannot reach anyone from The Parking Spot.Business response

Discount codes from this company do nothing. Received discount code in email. Followed instructions to redeem: logged in to my account, entered code and received rate. Then opened different browser, requested reserve price for exact days/times (as guest, no login) and received exact same rate. Then on another computer, logged into my account and entered AAA member discount code. You guessed it, exact same rate as other 2 attempts. This company is scamming people with false discount codes. Whatever code is entered will yield same rate. Even non-account holders get same rate. Isnt this false advertising or bate-and-switch? I honestly cant understand how this company still has a good BBB rating. Makes me severely doubt value of BBB.Business response

You have AAA linked to your AAA. It is VERY hard to beat a AAA discount. They are offering more than 30%. Our system compares all discounts available and applies the highest.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
While I still feel that the various codes offered make very little difference to the final prices with or without codes, there is no way to challenge their explanation. So, until I have more concrete evidence, I must drop the complaint. Thanks for taking the time to investigate.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

This issue was resolved. We do not offer phone support & our response time for Gold members is 48 hours. We have a Contact us article and Contact us button on the bottom of EVERY article listed on our website.

On 6/12/24 I made a reservation on www.theparkingspot.com for The Parking Spot South location (Reservation #*********). I paid $86.29 upfront for this reservation.I then realized I should have booked The Parking Spot North location so on 6/12/24 I modified my reservation on www.theparkingspot.com to change my reservation from The Parking Spot South to The Parking Spot North. I was refunded my original $86.29 and charged the new price of $179.01 for the North location. My reservation number remained the same.When we arrived at The Parking Spot North on the day of our reservation (7/17/24), the ** Code provided on The Parking Spot app for us to use at check in showed our reservation still being at The Parking Spot South. The attendant wouldnt allow us into the North parking lot and informed us we had to go to South. We went to South, scanned our ** Code and parked there.I am requesting a refund of $92.72 which is the difference in amounts that I paid to move my reservation from South to North which was not honored.I have included screenshots of our reservation as well as the ** Code we were provided for check in.On 7/18/24 I reached out to The Parking Spot through their Contact form on their website, I received no response.On 7/23/24 I followed up with The Parking Spot regarding the lack of response to my request. I received no response.On 8/1/24 I called The Parking Spot North location directly and asked to speak to the manager. I was informed that the manager had been out all week and they had no idea when he would be back. I explained the situation to the employee who informed me that it was an IT issue and I had to email **************************************** On 8/1/24 I emailed **************************************** and as of today (8/4/24) I have received no response to my email.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:The customer service representative did reach out to me but it did not resolve the issue. Below is the message I received and my response to The Parking Spot:
EMAIL FROM THE PARKING SPOT CUSTOMER SERVICE:
"Thank you for reaching out to us! We sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We have been experiencing higher-than-usual demand, resulting in a delay in our response time. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
I am showing that your stay has been fully refunded. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to assist you."MY RESPONSE TO THE PARKING SPOT:
Thank you for your email. Since first contacting you regarding this issue, we had to pay an additional $105.66 to exit The Parking Spot South as they charged us for the drive up rate due to our reservation being at North and not South.
I called the manager at The Parking Spot South the next day. I explained the situation, he was very helpful and apologetic. He agreed to refund us the $105.66 difference we paid for the drive up rate.
This amount (and refund) was in addition to the original refund request I am requesting.
Summary of our charges we have paid:
6/12/24 - $86.29 paid to The Parking Spot South online (Refunded on 6/12/24 when I modified our reservation)
6/12/24 - $179.01 paid to The Parking Spot North online
7/27/24 - $105.66 paid to The Parking Spot South at location to exit facility (Refunded on 8/2/24 by manager of South)
The amount I am contesting is the $179.01. I am asking for a refund of $92.72 which is the difference between the amount I paid ($179.01) for covered parking at North and the service I actually received ($86.29) uncovered parking at South.Sincerely,

The Parking Spot is intentionally and willfully price gouging consumers at a rate $26.25 per day during the holiday. This is before taxes and fees. According to the attendant the daily price is actually about $35 per day. This pricing is much different than the phone app which I could not get to work. Please investigate this price gouging. I will exhaust all means to go after this companyBusiness response

At The Parking Spot, our rates can vary depending on availability. As our facility can fill up quickly, we may have limited spots available, resulting in higher daily rates for the last few spots. To secure the best rate, we recommend making a reservation at least 2 weeks before your check-in date. Please keep in mind that the best rate is only guaranteed with a reservation. We do not have a "normal" daily flat rate as our rates change daily.
