Hired them to move my things from ********* to *********. The estimate was $2000. I had to give them $1100 down. They only took a check or cash. When they came to pick up items they charged me $2400 on top of the $2000. I was very stressed and didnt look over the bill carefully and after they left I realized they charged me $775 too much. They were suppose to minus $775 and they added it instead. When I try to call them, the number on the bill and also the number on their website rings and then disconnects. There is no way to get ahold of anyone at this company. When they got to ********* they said they couldnt pull up in front of the apartment cause the semi wouldnt make the turn and wanted another $800 to move the things in. I paid them to move the things in the apartment and set up beds and furniture. Now I have to rent a small truck so they can move things on the small truck and I have to move my things and set up beds myself. I want money back from them. $775 they overcharged and $150 for stairs when their are not any and $1000 for not moving my things in or setting anything up.Initial Complaint

I used **********, which is a moving broker, to handle an out-of-state move for my mother's belongings from Chicago to *******. ********** contracted the job out to Day and Night Movers.The move out date from my mom's Chicago location was Tuesday, March 29. I paid 2/3 of the total cost of the move, with the agreement that the final third would be paid upon receipt of the delivery in *******.Weeks went by, and when I contacted ********** to try to get an update on delivery time, they said they were having trouble contacting or getting a response from Day and Night movers. Usually when I call their number for Dispatch to get an update, no one answers the phone, and if I try to leave a message, I get a recording that their voicemail is full. Any phone number or email address I try to use to contact them goes unanswered.On the rare occasions I am able to contact them, they give me a delivery time that comes and goes, with no response or explanation or further information when they miss that time. It is almost mid-May, and my elderly mother's clothes and belongings are still undelivered. Their most recent promise was that her delivery would be by May 11 at the latest, but that date is tomorrow, and we've heard nothing from them, as usual, and of course, can't contact them.Business response
