Will scam you out of your deposit and rent, because you don't want to live in a house that was NOT DEEP CLEANED before you moved in, and there literally are roaches in light fixtures, under the stove top and in the hidden spots. The maintenance they offer is a joke. Then when you refuse rent, but have it, they evict you. Get a lawyer, because they will. They have him on speed dial to intimidate. Worst business I've ever dealt with. **** that collects HUD somehow.Hartmann Rentals Response

We are sorry ******************************* was not happy when she rented from ** in December 2018-June 20**. We applied her deposit toward the balance due for rents, legal fees & damages to the property on their move out. (See attached tenant ledger) The issue of cleanliness to the home was never brought up prior to move in and was not mentioned when the home passed occupancy from the City of ***** on 12/28/2018 the week they moved into the home. (See attached occupancy permit) After a prolonged legal battle, on July 11, 20**, Madison County case #******* dismissed any claim for withholding rents for cleanliness and agreed they owed the past due balance in full. (see attached) We thank them for making payments toward the balance and we hope in time this will be paid off and removed from their credit report.Review from Joshua C

They wont complete maintenance requests. They are insulting when you speak with them. I had very terrible air quality when I moved in, I ran an air cleaner for days and the filters clogged up almost instantly. Very bad place, do not come here. Not nice at all.Hartmann Rentals Response

My husband and I rented from Hartmann for 6yrs. They were Very good to **! NO complaints here! Just pay your rent on time and keep a clean house while living there and moving out. They are very easy people to work with. Online portal for maintenance was Great also.Hartmann Rentals Response

BE AWARE THAT YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. They put that in the application, but it says to hold it and once its off the market its non-refundable. Me and my boyfriend looked at an apartment and we are seriously just ready to be on our own together with our daughter. The woman who showed us the property asked when we were wanting to move in and we said as soon as we can because we want out of where we are. She then said I have 2 appointments after this and all someone had to do is hand me the check and you guys are out. So obviously we were on a time schedule and needed to make a decision fast. So we decided to go ahead and do it. Well we go to the office to give our deposit and the lady on there (not sure her name) told my boyfriend it would be more expensive to move in right now and to wait until the 21st and come get the keys and sign the lease then. Therefore basically making us hold it. The next day we got a call from an apartment WAY more in our budget and closer to family. So I call immediately to tell HARTMANN RENTALS. They also told me to call back Monday to talk to ***** the property manager. Then ** told I cant get my money back. That is $725 they get to pocket. When we also havent even signed the lease or moved in, but if we were to move in and stay a full year we would get our money back.Review from Shonta J

They are very rude when you are calling to inquire about a rental property. They are very dismissive and arrogant. They will push you away before you've even had a chance to look at the property. I've never lived there, but I wouldn't recommend based on how rude they are when you call to inquire.Hartmann Rentals Response

Sorry you were treated briskly. Sometimes when the phone is ringing, we hurry thur the requirements. We try to pre screen residents looking for a home, since we know your time is valuable. & to avoid ***************************** we explain they would need income- NET 3 times the rent, explain there is a app fee to run a credit & criminal check. And a total of a month's rent + a deposit equal to a month's rent to more in. we explain all future residents 18 & older must apply. these requirements on our web site & all emails Again sorry for rudeness
