I went to the store to send packages out. It was my first time ever using **** The packages were paint buckets that I needed to return because a company sold me too much material. I brought the packages to the UPS store in the same packaging in which they were received by me. They accepted the packages, taped them up, and took them. I was not offered insurance or asked the value of the packages, the value of the packages were approximately $1500. 2 of the sent packages (totalling $800 in material) were severely damaged, 1 sent back to the store, and 1 delivered damaged. I made a claim, the people at the store told me it wasn't their fault, and *** rarely takes responsibility for these things. Upon further investigation, they denied my claim because they said the material was not packaged correctly, although it was in the same packaging that I received it in, and the people at the UPS store inspected the contents and taped it up anyways. After I found out, by calling the store, that the claim was denied, I was told there is nothing else I can do about it. I later found out that they should have assisted me with a dispute, but they wouldn't. I will NEVER USE *** AGAIN, they treated me like a number and not a person. I am now out of about $800, and nobody on their end is willing to take any responsibility for it. I was not made aware that they should be packaged differently, I do not have packing equipment or material at my home, I should have been informed of this at the store so it could've been handled at that moment, but there are a few young teenage kids working there, and a manager who really seems to hate his job. I can describe that store and *** as having 0 ethics, professionalism, or accountability. These people have no business handling peoples packages, as they do not care about their profession. They treated my packages like garbage, and in turn treated me like garbage when I seeked out a resolution.
