Thank you for sharing with us a complaint submitted by one of our patients on 08/23/2022 regarding their recent experience. We would like to assure you that we take these concerns very seriously. An investigation into this matter included a review of this patients health record and discussion with her treating physician as well as review of the billing records. Based on the findings, the patient was seen for a chief complaint of Right Heel Pain. The first appointment was on 04/22/22. Symptoms have been present for 2 years. The patient previously saw another podiatrist for heel pain. The patient has had x-rays, injections, shoe inserts, and change of supportive shoes without relief of symptoms. The decision was made to initiate EPAT (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Therapy ) and the patient received 5 treatments. On 07/26/22 we received an email from the patient stating that she will not be continuing with the treatment. The physician tried to reach out to the patient several times to inquire and offer further advice, but the calls were never answered/returned. Since the phone calls had not been returned, the doctor sent an email to the patient asking to speak to the patient about her condition (offered appointment, telehealth or in office visit). Additionally, a written letter was sent to the patient, a copy of the letter was scanned to the chart.Upon investigation, it appears that the patient made a decision to discontinue the treatment and declined to consider any other treatment options. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information in regard to this concert and thank you again for bringing this to our attention.*************************
