i received a quote for floor install, the quote was based on square footage and pictures, when they arrived to do the job the owner said that the cracks in the floor were going to cost 600$ on top of the original quote to repair, i accepted that and when the job was finished he instead charged me $800 on top of the original quote, i later learned from another company the the cracks and floor prep is supposed to be included in the original quote. I completely got taken advantage of here. also they did some damage to my tiles in the hallway and paint was lifted off the stairs because of a sticky plastic floor protector that they used. the owner said that it wasn't his fault the inferior materials were installed on my floor and that it wasn't his fault that there was cheap paint on the stairs, he called me asinine and i was shocked when he spoke to me like this. also, one of his crew members stated he is 13 years old. and this young boy was carrying tools in and out of the house and banging the tools against my walls and door ways. isn't it illegal for a 13 year old boy to be working? and last but not least i was never given an receipt or any warranty informationBusiness response

These here are corresponding messages between *************************** and I on August 15th and the following Friday the 24th. At the initial install I pleaded with him to take care of the tile. We install concrete coatings and when we are installing A floor that is not immediately accessible we put down plastic that is used all across the world all 50 states by contractors. It is sold at every Menards nationwide. We put down this plastic that is in the path of traffic from the garage where our trailer is to our job site. When mentioning he spoke to another company about the pricing regarding the cracks being included, he cannot mention what another company is stating because all companies very in terms of what they include in said service. The morning of the installation when he expressed that he would like all of the expansion joints filled I let him know that he would be avoiding his warranty because he is filling something that is a structural part of the floor because saw cuts are for expanding and contracting of the different joints. And I explained to him that ****************** is that they could crack back joints and he said thats no big deal. I did tell hom it would be 600- to $700 to fill the joints. We never ever touched on it again and at the end of the day instead of it being 6 to 700 it ended up being 800 $100 more. Which, at the time of payment he did not express any disagreement with the extra hundred or ask why the extra then we discussed . My explanation for the extra is before we arrived that day. We didnt factor in filling in all of the saw cuts so once I started utilizing the repair product that was needed to fill all the joints, we used much more than 6 to ******************** charging 1000 which is what a lot of the crack repair costs and we utilized a full kit here . I just met in the middle and charged 800. At the end of the installation, we spent at least 15 minutes in his laundry room, where the one tile was up And I pleaded with him to allow me to fix it He told me that the space was old floor and need updated. I think *** for the opportunity and we took off. Immediately following the installation which was a Friday that Saturday I received a text from ************************* stating that the floor looks beautiful and he was very pleased with the work and that we left a led light that we need to retrieve when we come back in two weeks to do his garage. Because the loved the the Basment floor and our services so much he moved forward with scheduling the garage for the coming weeks after the drywall in the garage was finished. At the Friday Basment floor coating install he never mentioned any mention of the paint that may have transferred from the Basment steps to our protective plastic roll we use to protect the traffic we walk during the install. I have before photos before we staryed our job that morning and it clearly shows ***** spots on several steps with paint missing which was before we ever put down our protective role because these are the before photos before we ever started or carried any equipment down. This new message is so strange because we just spoke as I referenced the screenshots of the messages above where I re-attempted on the 15th to try to come fix his floor and all of the jpg screenshot messages show above that he told me he was sorry for ever contacting better business and that everything is fine there is no big deal that he has a bunch of more working coming up at the house and he found extra tiles laying around for the one tile that was effected/ also mentioned that he clearly has been planning to paint those steps prior to even our project so that indicates the steps have needed a refresh / painting. When I First reached out to **** after this transpired I clearly expressed that I would do whatever I could to make better of this situation. He assured me that there was nothing else to be done. I am completely surprised to get this notification in my email. If we wouldnt of just Friday the 24th Then I could understand, but this is completely strange. April 19th my floor in lower level was supposed to be grinded to a satisfactory level of being able to acid stain on my own. This company came and did grinding too quickly and left scratches all over the concrete. Patches of concrete not even grinded. The owner wanted 10 percent down and the rest when he came to do the job. I tried to communicate that it did not look all the way done and patches were not ground. He kept saying I was insulting him and his knowledge. He advertised on ******** for his company and that is how I found him.Business response

I have an active restraining order against this women. I am starting to fear for my safety and well-being. At this point In our correspondence, when **** reached out suggesting that this floor may not be properly prepped I first asked her has she tested a small area with her little test kit to see if in fact the floor was or was not prepped correctly and she has not done that . I explain to her that I have over 2,.700,000 ft. of concrete coating installation experience today with zero warranty related issues today. I have zero problem with grinding and prepping concrete satisfactory to take codings to have semi drivers 18 wheelers forklifts every single day on them I was willing to Contact this woman next week which I communicated with her. I told her that she cannot keep emailing me every day about this until that point the very next day she sent me more and more antagonizing correspondence between her. between her and People that she finds online that suggest they are familiar with concrete prep or staining or etc. I am a real life person that has done almost ********* ft. of prep and coatings. I have no issues to date with this and that is not a discrepancy. That is not by luck.
After this woman reached out to me and suggested that the floor was not prepped properly and I asked her has she tested her stain test kit on it to see if it in fact works or not, and she is admittedly saying that she has not tested it all she is doing is going online and researching and getting other peoples opinion that she doesnt even know have experience in concrete coatings / prep . I would be more understanding to the fact that she would say she has tested the stain and it is not receiving. But she cannot say that. We merely did a favor for this lady. She has another quote from someone for almost double to triple the cost of what we charged her to do this you cannot even rent the equipment that we used for the price that we charged her for one day to grind this floor . After she reached out And said that it was not prepped correctly I told her I would get a hold of her next week. Before next week could even come she started. Emailing me more opinions between her and other people she found online.. She has been harassing me since this happened. I told her I would get a hold of her next week and please do not contact me again about this because theres nothing that I can do about it until next week and the very next day she went on yelp ****** and **** business and reported us to all of those things. This woman is starting to scare me for my safety and well-being and that is why Why I have went and put a active restraining order no contact order on **** from myself or my company. We do not owe her any money if you please submit the contract we sent to you. We came and did exactly what we said we would do. There is not a of how much a floor is or isnt ground we said that we would come diamond profile your floor and that is what we did if it is not to your standard then you doing the project yourself need to then go rent a grinder beyond what we did and grind your floor more but we did not wrong. You in anyway you have left three negligent defamatory reviews of our services because youve never received our services our companies name is SS Concrete coatings our companies name is not SS Concrete grind and prep! we coat concrete floors thats all we do thats all we offer. we merely came and did a favor for this woman but in the process of doing this favor, she has made the family defamatory remarks on public platforms about our companys
I would like no further contact with this woman, and if she continues to harass us, she will be arrested

I am rejecting this response because:He is lying I never harassed or threatened this man. He is completely unhinged. I simply wanted my concerns to be addressed he tried telling me things in terms that didnt even make sense like the shrouds will help make the floor look ok. How does that even make sense?!He didnt know what he was doing plain and simple. He wanted money and thought it was a quick ****** job. He basically worked for 1 hour for ****** and told me I dont know what Im talking about.

I am rejecting this response because:The business is deceitful. He said he would even do the staining of the concrete and wanted too! So him saying only coating floors that is a lie.
He showed me a picture of a stained floor and it was a stock photo from the internet.He did not take time to address concerns before he left and after consulting with a few others in this profession I was even more certain the job was left unfinished. I would like a full refund since he did not complete this job and my floor was NOT ready to be stained and I wouldve had a bigger mess on my hands if I tried to do staining with the concrete not being ready.

Once the floor was able to be walked on we saw the poor workmanship which is now where our cost and issues truly begin. We took pictures of the work and he said there were "No issues to address". Then read his warranty statement saying it's not discoloration, delamination, or peeling. We asked him for the warranty information to fill out the warranty card he gave us and he said he changed companies who he got the product from and told us to have a nice day. When trying to address the problem areas just days after the install he refused to say that there were any warranty related issues and then we invited him to come look at his completed work which he hasn't gotten back to us. We were fortunate enough to have another company come finish the job and the difference of the workmanship is day and night. The other company said he did not want anyone to know he did the other portion because he did not want his work associated with the poor quality work of SS Concrete. The following week we met with a 3rd company in the industry and they gave us their profession opinion on the work of SS Concrete and what they would do to fix it. They pointed our problem areas where the floor is already failing and where it will eventually fail in the future. They damaged our metal trim by throwing flakes on them, they coated overtop carpet strings, they did not take the top clear coat to the edge making it not water resistant, and there are other areas that are just "poor workmanship" and they would never leave a job looking that way. We now just want our floors fixed and no one else to go through this mess with SS Concrete Coating. Unfortunately in our story coming out we are hearing of other customers having similar issues with SS Concrete Coating.Business response

This is completely false allegation and is starting to seem like harassment! This job was schedule for months. They changed the date a few times due to something with their insurance and we were very accommodating in moving dates around, etc. During the walk through they had several areas that were covered in carpet, and a tiled area. We made them aware we can coat over tile as weve done before and they were aware from seeing on our previous jobs photos where we covered tile, but doing so we cannot warranty the floor. Everything was clearly explained. Come to the day of the install. They removed all of the carpet except in the mens locker room which the mens locker room was supposed to be ready and available to coat that day but couldnt because lockers were existing and carpet. So we werent able to do the mens locker room on the day of scheduled install: they also had the tile still existing the day of install so they explained that they didnt have the means to remove it so just coat over it! They had us knowingly coat over an existing tiled area that was a raised portion of the floor. At the end of our install that day the daughter(************************* ) of the owners of fitness lifestyles withheld and denied us payment as all our contracts states payment is due in full at install date. She claimed that we had no legal binding contract at first,or obligation to pay and then suggested theyll withheld payment until we complete the job meaning the mens locker room, but the only reason we couldnt complete mens locker room day of install was because they didnt have it readily available for us as was supposed to be ready for our scheduled install. This leads to an hour phone call of ************************* suggesting that we tampered with there security system and was making for a very hostile situation. At the start of the install I was informed a ************************* approached one of my crew members and was to making sure that I myself **** was going to be on-site the entire day. Which I dont have anything in any contracting that states I stay and partake in the installations as the owner although coincidentally I do install every floor. This was merely a way to undermine and question the ability of my crew that so happens to be an entire ********************** And I am Caucasian. So I dont find that coincidental after all her other behaviors towards our company came to life.
the next couple of days after floor cures they notice an area raised that isnt level with the rest of floor, which for one we dont guarentee in our services/ processes/ work that we level the floor! In the area where the floor that had existing tile meets the rest of the sq ft , It doesnt meet evenly. Because that area has tile beneath it And the rest of space doesnt. The floor isnt peeling, failing, delaminating, in any way. It simply is a few millimeters thicker than the rest of the floor in those spots because it has tile beneath it versus the rest of floor doesnt have tile beneath it. They knew this would be the case because they knowingly didnt remove the tile.
I have text messages from ******************* the owner of fitness lifestyles and a ********************************************************************************************************************************* the door ways where the flooring area that has tile meets the rest of areas. I asked him if he wanted me to come install the transition strips and fix the is*** and he said no way he could have his maintenance guy do it. Even goes as far as texting me right after we get off the phone saying hey guys just got off phone with **** everythings is good then texts me right back informing me he meant to send that to someone else.
the very next morning after the owner and I came to an agreement regarding the is***. He relayed the info to im assuming his daughter *************************. And Instead of the is*** being fixed and done.
the daughter ************************* got on there conpany ******** page fitness lifestyles and defamed / slandered our company and made a post stating they just had there floors redone at the business and there all having is***s and they need professional helping fixing. And this is all outright lie.
And we already came to a resolution 10 hours before with the owner.
there daughter ************************* has some vendetta out against us now ever since the hour phone call after the installation when she denied payment and started making things very very hostile .weve installed over 2million sq ft and have zero complaints regarding our workmanship, our quality of work, our worksite cleanliness. Weve never had someone deny payment and breach contract, this is all a first here this ************************* is married to an fbi agent which is completely unrelated but at a point ******* the phone call she threatens us with him. And said she needs to make that phone call and get him involved which I dont understand at all. Just a very very very strange experience to say in the least. We did everything at this job the same we do any other job. We didnt damage any metal trim. If there is a small polymer vinyl flake that is still existing there its by static or can easily be picked off. During our process we throw thousands of small polymer vinyl flakes out and it was clearly instructed and to be expected that after the Installation there *** be a few left behind. The floor is 100% adhered and bonded completely to the substrate/ floor beneath it. The structural integrity of the floor is completely in tact. The only thing I will agree with is there *** be a difference in opinion regarding the finished product based off what we were giving to work with. But I dont agree with anything regarding any floor already failing/ peeling / delaminating in anyway. Unless it was negatively impacted by someone else after our installations which one of the companies they had come look at the floor is a direct conflict of interest. TSR concrete coatings of **** is my past employer I worked there 4 years. My brother ***** worked there 4 years as well. He inevitably had to *** them for an amount he was withheld from them where they had this bribery deal where you can work 500 hours and bank it in this bank and give it back to them and become a set salary pay. After he did this he realized he wasnt getting salary pay. He brought it to there attention so they fired him. He decided a to get a lawyer and *** them. The same day/week he wins his settlement with TSR , I get let go fired the same day for speeding in a work truck. Never had any write **** complaints, etc. I was direct collateral damage from my brother suing them and winning so they unlawfully terminated me. So after that I started S S Cocnrete coatings llc.
So for them to have TSR come do anything related to this floor is biased and completely false. I already have complaints being handled where TSR goes to potential leads: job sales and defames our company and says misleading things to potential customers that *** also seek a quote from us. Luckily most of these people dont take kindly to another contractor/ company bashing another company and I usually get those jobs because of it. All this to say this whole situation is very strange and off.
we have very very detailed photos and videos of the entire process from start / middle/ to finish. So if it isnt as we left it in the photos day of installation then its been altered in some way beyond our control.
we do have a attorney ready to deal with any and all is***s regarding this. After the defamation / slander on ******** weve been very patient and understanding to all parties involved. We do great work, offer some of the most competitive pricing in the area for these services and its so unfortunate this is where this has lead. I have reason to believe this is all stemming from the fact that I specifically told ******************* the owner of ****************** that moving forward a ************************* will have zero contract with s s concrete coatings Based off the hour phone call with all the accusations and withholding payment. And weve never ever dealt with her regarding any of the proceedings of this planning for the project other then one time she was involved because they chose her to be the person to decide which Color they were going with. But beyond that every email, appt, text, call, regarding this project was through **** and ********************* the owners. This is merely a power struggle one is having. This doesnt define our give proper representation of our company and what we embody in anyway. We already did a project twice this size for these same people but the only constant that remains as a ************************* was not involved in anyway and there was zero is***s!! But with this newer project involving the same people Ive already did great business with there is a is*** and only thing thats changed between our dealings from then till now is because of a ************************* has inserted herself and created this all.

I am rejecting this response because: Unfortunately, ****, owner of SS Concrete Coating, has not been to our establishment in person to see his completed work. I truly believe if he would schedule an appointment with us to look at his work he would be embarrassed to have this be a showcase of his work. However, due to his false accusations of the way things were discussed and handled, I do not think it would be appropriate to meet with **** without other witnesses present. We trusted his judgement when he said it was fine to go over top tile although we were concerned. According to others in the field they should NOT go over top tile but **** must have done it knowing it would void the warranty. I think that's poor business practice to use your product when the manufacturer does not approve of it, just to make a quick buck. I also don't appreciate people accusing me of being racist when we merely were asking if the owner would be around later in the day to discuss when we could open the business to our members. There was no mention of race in that question. He took a simple question and made an assumption. As for any mention of my husband and his employer; **** brought my husband up and stated he knew my husband was an FBI agent. I asked him to please not involve my husband in this matter. We are ethical business owners and my husband's employer has nothing to do with our operations nor this issue. I am not going to argue with **** about what happened before, during, or after our install because I can see he will just make up his side of the story and because there aren't any witnesses it is a he said, she said debate. However what I do want to address is the poor workmanship. We had ****'s full payment ready the next morning so to say I was withholding it, is false. He expected us to get him $9500.00 after banks had closed for the night which I told him was not possible even after all the harassment on the phone. I finally had to hangup because he continued to argue with me. It appeared he wanted his money before we could see the poor quality of his work and now we are stuck with his shoddy work and no warranty now for a portion of the job. I'm just disappointed we had such a poor experience with this company. We have others coming forward about the poor quality of his work but whenever there is a negative comment on social media they seem to be deleted or block the user and threaten an attorney. As for the statement about our social media post asking for a recommendation of a concrete coating company to fix our floors, that is accurate. I did not state any names and only relayed facts but **** is threatening me with his attorney and even had someone try to contact me as a scare tactic. After spending that kind of money I just want a good quality floor that will last for years and to already have issues only weeks after install I know the work won't hold up and if he's refusing to help us now, I don't foresee anything to change in the future. I'm worried if this is supposedly "non-warranty related" that when we do have a warranty related issue he will come up with any excuse in the book to not cover anything. After all he's already told us he switched suppliers and our warranty card is no good. Our only warranty is offered through his company which I'm sure coverage verse non-coverage will be determined by *********

Good evening thanks for swift response. Weve installed over ******* sq ft and have zero warranty related issues/ call backs. In fact the exact opposite we have only blocked or deleted people who mistakenly go on our page and comment stuff meaning to go to TSR page. And we find out they were looking for TSR and not us. This happens weekly. But regarding our company This is false. And *************************. If it really needed to get to the point of getting ahold of us cellular and subpoena the phone call that day would confirm what all took place and what was said. You dont recall things you say. You mentioned needing to involve *** and making that call. And when I mentioned that you just threatened me with your *** husband you in the background asked your parents why are they telling people his employer info/ however. which didnt do anything for the situation on the slightest. You are failing to take accountability in many areas. Weve done business with your family and ***** with out you involved. Do you understand that on those installations the day we installed cedarville church there was a check waiting for us that day. And every other install weve done in two years. PAYMENT IS DUE IN FULL AT INSTALL: Nothing matters about times and banks closing etc, you guys have had this scheduled for months with the contract accepted and agreed to all terms so yes you did breach contract and withhold payment. Because as we require at date of install payment is due in full. ***** standard for TSR, and every other business who does this type of work. And thats how the contract is written. And at any moment you guys never ever expressed any other need for another payment arrangement regarding insurance not cutting the check or whatever excuse was made Initially. Do you not remember suggesting that you dont owe us anything because theres no legal contract etc ??. We have repeat customers thats all our business is. Weve stopped advertising on many different outlets because all our business comes from a job we did / word of mouth. Your not taking accountability in the fact that you slandered and defamed our company over non - warranty related issues / merely at most all we have here is your not satisfied with our workmanship as you mentioned. I agree with that statement. Outside of that: our coating is. Not DELAMINATING, FADING, or PEELING in anyway. It is completely bonded and adhered to Every sq ft we touched. And it will stay that way for years to come unless someone alters it with a chemical not permitted or equipment not premitted. We didnt do any thing different. Any you are speaking from a place with zero knowledge in the industry. This coating we offer IS A MEANS OF ASBESTOS tile ENCAPSULATION. The reason you guys learned we can coat over tile was because you guys mentioned you saw a huge church job we did with tile that we coated/ which by the way is doing amazing over a year now. When doing this , yes we cannot offer the warranty that we offer on concrete. That is all CLEARLY COMMUNICATED with every customer that chooses to coat tile. There was never a debate or concern expressed. You guys changed the date so many times and had every opportunity to remove it prior to our install date.
And even didnt have the entire area scheduled to coat that day cleared as there was the carpet and lockers existing in the mens locker room. Youre lying by saying I have not been willing to come back to job site and walk through the floor. The day before you made your ******** post. Your dad the owner of fitness lifestyles and I the owner of s s came to the agreement that in both door ways where the tile meets the other areas, there can be a door transition strip installed . And it would completely make transition between rooms seem-less. That day. We agreed on this, I offered to stop at Menards and grab the strips and come install. He reassured me that his maintenance man is very capable and will install them. We confirmed before hanging up that this settles the concerns that were at hand. and he hung up. To then text me just talked to ****, everything is good now: which *** already mentioned this and you choose to not acknowledge or respond to this. Why did the owner of fitness lifestyles, and I agree on a resolution and within 12 hours of this, you go on ******** and create a huge problem/ lie about us and inevitably have hindered our company from this. You speak that I have threatened people with lawyers. You need to understand a few things here. You are very close to form of harassing us, and you have already slandered our company and defamed us on a public platform which is all documented.
Im not sure why you are involved at all. You werent apart of this at all other then color selection: youve created a huge ordeal and it seems your having a power struggle.
the very next morning I wake up to the slander / defamation post that you posted, not your father or ***** the owners of the company that we did the work for that we already made a resolution over the phone 12 hours prior . It doesnt madder that you did or didnt post our company named attached to the post or that we did the job because you knowingly posted false info regarding work that we performed that was already publicly broadcasted on our ******** from the install. It was already public knowledge we did the work. The floor isnt failing, you arent having issues with the floor. It is all false.
If you agree that youre not happy with the finished product thats one thing, but the floor is 100% bonded to the substrate beneath it and the structural integrity is 200% there.

I am rejecting this response because: We are not happy with the finished product. You speak of our flooring with such confidence that your job is not faulty yet you have not seen it since you installed it? We have a list of your customers who are unsatisfied with your workmanship so we are not the only ones. I will encourage them to share their jobs/complaints with the BBB as well. As for saying I am not in the industry you are correct which is why I sought experts in the field to get their opinion on the work. These issues of the shoddy workmanship were brought to our attention after members began complaining about parts of the floor which were failing. I would like to publicly ask who you purchased the product from and what kind on warranty the product comes with since our warranty card is no longer applicable according to you? I think that should be something you disclose to your customers before you install the floor, don't you? Would the manufacturer stand behind your work and the statement you made about it being "A means of asbestos tile encapsulation"? Can you please attach/upload our signed contract to this complaint? Also, I did not give permission to use our business as a paid advertisement. Is that something you usually ask for approval on because if not I think it would be the right thing to do next time. After our experience and seeing the final product we would not recommend your company and we have every right to not want to publicly display your work on social media.Sincerely,
