The president/CEO is deceitful and he does not care. This started last year when the bank told me my house payment would be X amount of dollars, so I paid X amount of dollars for months.. well MONTHS go by and I get told one day they told me the wrong amount and I’m actually BEHIND 3k in interest. Ok, well I’m furious cause I’m trusting the bank to guide me in an area I’m not educated and trained in like they are.. well I expressed my frustration and the CEO says “well, we’re human you can pay in full or make bigger payments monthly to pay it back” very unempathetic. Ever since that incident there was held resentment. Fast forward and I made a claim on MY home insurance that I pay for, for some damage from the terrible storms back in the beginning of the year. Well the CEO who was “helping” me told me after I made repairs that the rest of the expenses would be going to ME, which is exactly what MY INSURANCE said.. me, the one who pays the home insurance. I thought great I just had a baby, I’m in school we could use that extra money and fix some MUCH needed repairs. Well, we had everything fixed professionally, pictures sent in and my boyfriend started working very hard on other projects that needed done as we thought we were getting the rest of that money we pay into every month.. he had to stop MID projects because the CEO turns and emails me to say “well, things change” when I inquired about the rest of the amount, and took the money and put it towards the house since there was $5,000 left over from the $12,000. I’ve emailed him 3 different times asking for a copy of my contract and it’s been nothing but silence. He PURPOSELY LIED. He is NOT for the client/ customer. He lied to me for what? I truly believe he was holding resentment and purposely lied from the beginning. Now we have projects at a still because he lied. Do NOT trust him with your money as this is the SECOND big issue I’ve had with this bank. Absolutely terrible. Go to a bank you can trust.

    Gale Credit Union Response

Unfortunately, Ms. B****** did not read the loan agreement when she signed, did not read the copy hand delivered, nor read the three copies we have mailed to her. It is easy for a borrower to then make claims that alleged verbal statements by former loan officer overrule what is in the legal loan agreement contract. Things do change with any loan when a borrower does not pay according to the legal loan agreement and becomes delinquent. Ms. B****** fails to acknowledge how we attempted to help her rather than file for Foreclosure due to the delinquency issue. Ms. B****** fails to acknowledge that we have offered to move her loan to a long-term fixed rate to potentially lower her payments due even given the fact that her promotional rate is soon to end and her payments may go up. Credit Unions are known to be more helpful than banks and that we are. However, borrowers must understand and comply with the loan agreements they sign and accept the consequences when they are in default. Filing complaints does not resolve any loan default issue.

    Customer Response

I did read my loan agreement actually, that’s why I questioned the loan officer multiple times as to whether or not she was sure my payment was only X amount of dollars. I know nothing in this department and did not think I would steered wrong by the years of experience I was leaning on to help me. I don’t know about the average Joe but when one doesn’t not already understand how such thing goes on and is reassured over and over by a professional then I believe it most likely the human to listen to one with the years of experience. He’s right, they could have foreclosed, but since the bank was the reason I was in the mess in the first place I find it a little silly for them to tell me wrong and then foreclose on me for wrongful information from a professional. The CEO NEVER tried to “make me happy” he said pay in full or make bigger payments. He never cared to understand the frustration or have any sort of empathy as a human. To be honest, as a result of my anger and frustration he lied to my face telling me I would get the rest of my insurance money and then turned around once it was all done and said “things change”. I was never looking for things to become easier for me, I was looking for a compassionate and empathetic person who cared about me personally. The CEO has only been the opposite. I have everything that I have talked about in email and documented, from the loan officer telling me over and over of the wrong balance up until today. I realized after leaving a review on Facebook that I am not the only one that has been lied to and deceived. I have never felt like this at a bank before, I’m only trying to help others before they get into what I have… which was not my fault, I was lead wrong.
