Business was charged mine home insurance for big project: update siding and gutters. Contract was signed 8/27/2022. This year and even now isn't good for me because I born in ******* and mine family partially still in *******. So basically, company send Mexican team were unprofessional. They took off my gutters, but not posted properly how they were. I did make first complaint they resend month letter someone - they supposed posted everything correctly. Since that i have always big water overflow of water every rain. Which never happened before. So, I did call another company. They check and said - my original gutters filters were removed and NOT PLACED back by Strafford ********** (Mexican guys). And they not connected half of mine gutters to roof. I was sending email to Strafford and left messages no reply. Finally, I was able talk to one of managers - 2 week pass no reply back. So finally, I was able hired another company to fix mine gutters and put back filters. I am attaching check here - and I am looking for refund from Strafford.

The insured did not have gutter guards on this house before the claim was filed.  We have photos to prove this.  Therefore, Strafford is not responsible for gutter guards.

On Oct 30,2023 a gentleman by name of ****** came our house to inspect our roof for hail damage. He said we needed to sign a paper giving him permission to talk to our ***************** (State Farm) otherwise our insurance company would not give him any information. We were never given a copy of this form we signed. He failed to tell us what company he works for. We did call our insurance company to speak to our claim adjustor ************************* and left several messages. After not hearing from **************, we proceeded in calling our State Farm agent *****************************. He told us he would look into this for us. He did and told us that we had to deal with Strafford ************** because we signed a contract with them allowing them to do the work. State farm gave us several phone numbers to Strafford adjusting to speak with their public adjustor. All the numbers we were given were either disconnected or mailbox full. Then we called ******************** claim number and were given a phone number to Strafford public adjustor ******. He told us if we do not use them, we had to pay them 35%. We do not want Strafford ************** to do the work. they have Deceived and lied to us. they have failed to give us a copy of form we signed. we do not trust them.

This homeowner was referred to us by his brother. Which we successfully delt with.   The insured wanted us to adjust 3 of his properties.   the inured signed 3 different contracts for 3 of his properties to continue the process with Strafford.  After our Strafford team got the insured Approved for all 3 claims, the insured ignored Strafford.   When we were finally able to get in touch with the insured, he stated that he did not want to continue with us. Per our contract the insured is to pay us 35 percent of each claim if he decides not to go with us. This is presented on our contracts that the insured had signed on 3 of the contracts. So not only did the insured want to initially use us knowing our success rate of getting homeowners approved, he did this with 3 of his properties.   The insured is now refusing to pay us our 35 percent fee, which we are going to be taking legal action for outside the BBB.   The insured has all copies of each contract that he signed.  The insured even was ready to pick our colors to complete the job with Strafford.   He has all of our contact numbers and none of our numbers are disconnected.  We got the insured approved under 3 different policies, and now he wants to drop us.  Everything that the insured is saying in his complaint is false.

In Response to Strafford adjusting INC.
************ did come to my house and yes they did work for my brother.  We told them (the gentleman that came to our home.) we have
3 properties and they said they would see if we would even qualify for roof hail damage. The gentleman that came said we needed to sign these papers to give them permission to talk to our insurance  company otherwise our insurance company would not speak to them. Nothing else except to talk to our insurance
company State Farm.  There was not a contract, it was just to talk to our ********* company. There was not a contract; we never received any copy. ******** *** is lying. We had to call our State Farm ********* claim adjustor and he said he could not speak with us because we signed papers with ********. Which we DO NOT HAVE A COPY OF!  and never given one. We called our State Farm agent *******, and he told us that is what storm chasers do. He gave us a number to Our ********* ************ State Farm Claims phone number ************) to get a copy of the contract. We would have to go online and look at it.
The day the gentleman **** and another came to show us pictures of the roof and siding, we asked what this was for? If we had not made a decision to use them or anyone. We refuse to pick anything.

      - Signed a Public Adjuster Contract with Strafford ********** **** on 5/20/2022 for storm damaged roof - Process was clearly understood by both parties - if initial estimate shows storm damaged roof, process will continue and ultimately be brought to a public adjustor, if not settled with the home insurance company - Assessment was done by Strafford Construction, Inc., result was positively storm damaged roof - estimated cost of replacement ~ $250,000 - Claim was submitted to insurance, - 8/24/2022 - selected color for replacement roof - 9/23/2022 - insurance stated they were only willing to pay ~$1,000 - 9/23/2022 - reached out to Strafford by email to ask what the discrepancy was - no response - 10/5/2022 - followed up with Strafford; mentioned they were still working with the insurance company - 1/21/2023 - followed up again to check status - 1/31/2023 - received response from Strafford asking to sign a homeowners claim document, "per conversation with office manager". No such conversation occurred.- 2/1/2023 - insurance company reiterates it will not pay for damage; reached out to Strafford for explanation; no response - 2/27/2023 - followed up with Strafford for update - 2/28/2023 - received a question from insurance company and forwarded along to Strafford; no response - 3/3/2023 - followed up again; received response that Strafford is going back and forth with insurance company - 3/8/2023 - followed up; no response - 4/3/2023 - followed up; no response - 4/13/2023 - followed up; no response - 6/19/2023- followed up; no response Despite my multiple attempts throughout the process to get more information and my multiple attempts to get a conclusion to the case I was continuously ignored and the business did not live up to their sales promises.

We have been working with the insurance company to indemnify the insured, unfortunately the insurance company does not want to indemnify the insured fully, and there is only so much we can do to make this happen, and we have gone as far to put this in the appraisal process.  We can release ourselves from this claim if the insured does not want to move forward, but we Have done everything on our end to get the insured indemnified.

I thought that I was just getting an estimate on my roof repairs from Strafford Adjusting/Construction. Mr *** pressured me into believing that my homeowners insurance would not pay for the cost of full replacement of my roof it I didn't contract with his company. He kept stressing that "my insurance was only going to pay for repair or patch and not full replacement" and "he could guarantee that his company would work with my adjuster and homeowners insurance to get me a FULL ROOF REPLACEMENT.Mr. *** never communicated with my insurance adjuster or insurance company. It was determined by my insurance company that "due to my roof shingles not being produce any longer that they had to replace the ENTIRE roof. I feel that Mr. *** new that my roof shingles where no longer being produce and deceived me, when in fact he did nothing but pressure me into a false contract. He stated more than once that they used the same system to determine cost factors. After talking to Mr. *** on 9/12/23, he stated that his adjuster has to crosscheck and itemize my estimate and that it going to be another 6 to 8 weeks before he could even get to my reconciliation and start my project. Mr. *** keeps saying things like "if I don't want the work done I have to pay hime 35% of my insurance payout. Firstly, he hasn't done anything to even earn 35% on anything because he has done nothing. Another instance would be say for instance I didn't want my gutter replace, he threatened to take 35% commission of that. The wording in the contract is very vague and does not have a clause that protects the consumer in this case. He just keeps talking about 35% commission, which makes me feel so defrauded. On another note, my insurance claim is under a "Disaster Code/castastrophe" my county was declared in a Statewide Disaster, which is contracted for NO MORE THAN 10% commission. My project is being held up for Strafford Construction/Adjusting gain.

In June ********* Construction rang my doorbell and stated that they noticed hail damage on my roof and on my siding. They told me that they can file an insurance claim and get them replaced for me and we would only have to pay the deductible. I agreed and the process went forward. We were approved for the siding and denied for the roof. That is fine the company came out in Mid July to complete the siding. Afterwards the siding looked great but there was all of a sudden a leak in my garage. I do now know where the leak was coming from but it was coming down the ceiling and the wall on the side where they were standing and doing the siding on my house and had to turn a downspout gutter as well. I called a roofing company and asked about it. He looked at it and pointed out the downspout and that it looked like something the construction company had done was causing the leak. He advised me to contact them since it had only been a few weeks. I contacted the company and I was at first told someone would be right out to check on it. No one came. I then contacted the initial lady who came to my house originally to suggest we get the siding and after yelling at me telling me there is no where its their companys fault finally tried to push me off on another person. I received a phone call again and was told someone would come out to inspect. A week later I received another phone call telling me that it is no way the fault of the company. After explaining to him that something happened after they were up there and sending pictures he said he would call me back. He never did. I reached out again and was told someone would be out last week. No one came. I reached out again and was told earlier this week. No one came. My garage is still leaking and I just had it re-drywalled and painted last year for $5K with no water damage was visible at all. I just want them to fix whatever they broke and fix the inside of my garage back to how it was before they came out.

At this time, 10/6/2022, the issue and repair to the roof has been resolved which had been completed last week. Although we do not touch wood during any of our builds (please see the attached photo of the claimed damage to their roof), and did not cause this damage/leak, we still fixed the damage to her roof in good faith.

I would like to warn everyone. The company should be fined and their ******** Insurance License revoked or suspended. They do no follow the contract terms they have signed with you - by signing the contract with their Public Adjuster/Strafford ************* and by referring their preferred contractor to you they should provide you at least two competitive bids for a contractor BUT none of those was provided to us. READ the Contract Carefully !They are giving you nothing on the paper except their WO with the payment terms - 1st check for 85% of the entire claimed amount + deductible due at the time of material delivery!; actually you do not even know what kind of material they will be delivering because there is no proper paperwork for it . I've asked them twice by sending them an email, to provide us the insurance, roofing licensing , name of the owner and itemized cost of their work they will be doing in my house + proper warranties and have not received anything. Multitype people *****, ****, **** only calling you telling you whatever you want to hear before you release the 1st check to them , in addition you do not even know their position in the company. They do not care about you- the customer and about your repairs, only they do care is the check from your insurance. Based on the legal contract you signed with them you do have a right NOT TO USE THEIR contractor and pay them provision from the claimed amount within a 5 days upon check receipt and cash it BUT in the reality they adding themselves to the check so you are not able to cash it out and pay them their provision! We have sent a checks back to our Insurance since we weren't able to cash it and give them their provision and we asked the Strafford to cancel the whole claim BUT there is no contact with them now. Stay away from them! This type of business shouldn't be licensed in the state of ********!

Our company worked with **************** and Allstate from the begging of this claim.  After We got her approved through her insurance company, and provided her with the insurance estimate as well as our estimate she agreed to start the work order process that she signed.  All the necessary documents were provided to **************** before she signed the work order.  The work order provided the material info that she agreed to.   After we got her approved we were notified by Allstate that she was trying to take us off the claim, which Allstate will not do since she is on a legal binding contract with us.    Bottom line is we worked with **************** since May of 2022, and everything was in order. After we put in all the leg work to get her approved she decided to go a different route.    Per our contract there our certain stipulations to follow before any releases are put into consideration. This is currently being worked on by our lawyer.

I am rejecting this response because:  Do you have any evidence what kind of documents exactly were provided to us by your company except your poor ** which was send already to the proper department? No itemized cost of your work and material description was provided to us, no GL and WC insurance and roofing license were provided to us upon our two email request - instead of that we have *** told over the phone that you are not doing such a thing. I got a copy of text message from ********************* that owner is concern now ( because we have asked second time for a proper papers) and that we have to release  the 1st check and deductible at the material delivery on our driveway . So unprofessional, low procedure with no respect to the client.  I wasn't able to find the roofing license in ******** database  you have listed on your ** even under different company name so I asked you for a copy by sending you an email - you have never provided that copy to me. What kind of evidence you have to prove it that you have provided to us proper papers upon our request??? In addition the legal contract we have it together says that your public adjuster by referring his preferred company ( your company) should present to us not fewer the two competitive bids for a contractor - nothing was presented to us and there is no evidence that you guys have provided such a thing to us.  So the conclusion is that your adjuster did not follow the contract terms . All of this is happening now because of the poor way you guys are treating the client and you unprofessional business. The email you sent us yesterday by one of your company representative it wasn't a good way if you want to reach an agreement with anybody; By threating us? Just to remind you we have right to use a different contractor for our repairs and we do not need your approval for it - that is what your contract says ( I am advising you read it carefully) and no one will be forcing us ( by threating)  to remove our complaints from BBB and ********************* It is our right as a consumer to report a compliant. Just curious - have you guys sued all those people who made a bad review of your company on BBB/Goggle and ******************** ?  I am attaching the ** with no itemized cost of work or material. Beside the contract this is the only form we have received from the Strafford.

      Complaint: 17677367

I am rejecting this response because: The statement is not true. There is no evidence that anything except the poor WO was provided to us, neither itemizing cost of work, details and material specs we have not received anything. We have only received an email from ALLSTATE with their estimate but nothing from Strafford. Upon my two written request to provide us a proper paperwork , insurance, warranty,  etc no one has responded to us . In the good faith we have opened our door for Strafford ************* sales persons ( they are walking door by door offering their services) and in the good faith my husband has signed contract with their Public Adjuster agreeing for his 35% provision since most of the adjusters charge 20%. In the good faith we have signed a WO brought to us by one of their sales representatives ********************* to our house with samples of the roof and siding material but their payment terms on the bottom of the **** over 80% of the claimed amount due in the morning at the material delivery on our driveway)  were the first red flag for us. The second red flag is the roofing licensing - the Strafford is replacing the roofing but they do not have a state licensing and apparently they are using the other contractor when they are applying for a permit - so who exactly will be replacing your roof ? You do not know that - the roofing contractor listed on their WO is a one man company and the roofing license listed was not valid in the ******** Roofing License Database  so I've decided to email to one of their representatives ***************** ( according to her business card) and ask for proper paperwork, insurance, licensing, warranty, the name of the owner of their company and also I have stated that I am not going to release the check until the job will be completed especially that the Strafford is a part of that check so they should not be worry. In exchange of my requests I have received text message from ********************* that owner is now concern and the check must be released at the material delivery on our driveway ( I have included the copy of that text message in my previous statement) THAT WAS ENOUGH FO US. We have asked our  ****************** to cancel the whole process , we have voided and sent back the checks to their proper department.  Allstate has advised us to report them to ******** ******************** what we did already. They should face some consequences and other people should be warn.
