To Whom it May ********* am filing a complaint against the Smileist Dentists. I went to this office for the first time on June 20, 2022 , I told the Dentist that my insurance would end at the end of the month. I had just quick my job and I also was not willing to pay anything out of pocket. The Dentist suggested a bite guard and x-rays. I told her that I would only move forward if it was completely paid for my insurance. The office staff looked into it and they told me that it was covered and that they would not charge me more than $100. The staff are not well trained and I had to make multiple visits because each time, the mold was not performed correctly. The final time, I asked for the Dentist to check it before I left because. I couldnt believe how sloppy the service was. She checked it, and of course it was still not right. She performed the final mold. I was not billed anything until December, 2022 after I cancelled my appointment since I found a new Dentist as I was not willing to return to this dentist. I then received a bill for $268 which I am disputing because they told me my insurance would pay the amount. I asked to speak to Dr. ********** the Office Manager told me that she would handle the issue. She would not transmit my complaint to Dr. ********** I believe telling a patient they would only be responsible for $100 and then charging a patient $268 after they cancel an appointment is unethical and an abuse of power. I have a choice to go to another Dentist when I believe the office is understaffed, not well trained and multiple visits are a waste of time. I am well educated and will not pay for this retaliatory bill.
