Elixir Inc. is a company owned and operated by ***************************** for approximately 3 years. I have been a customer/ retail reseller of her products for about a year. In the last 6 months she has added about a half dozen products, many of them whole food herbal products to her line of Mediterranean sourced oils for the skin, hair and face. When I first started ordering them about 5-6 months ago, they came from the manufacturer with a seal over the s**** on cap. More recently in the last 2-3 months, these products no longer had a seal on them. In fact, none of her products had a manufacturer's date or expiration date. She said that the herbs in them acted like a natural preservative and they would last years on the shelves, much like spice blends that you purchase in the grocery store, so I didn't think much of it. Her topical sealed Hair, Skin and Hair products, were selling faster than the food/ herb based supplements mainly because the labeling was so unprofessional on the food/ herb based products. I s/w her regarding her labeling, which she created on her computer, and several times the labels actually fell off the bottles and I would have to tape them on. About 3 weeks ago, a weird fermentation/ chemical reaction was happening in the bottles of 2 of her whole food/ Herbal products. I took pictures and brought it to her attention. Due to the fact that these products were not SAFETY SEALED for the protection of the public, which is a standard in the supplement and OTC industry since the TYLENOL murders in the 70's. I then got a complaint from a friend of mine, who I had given a couple large bottles of her Maca and Camu-Camu to. My friend opened both bottles and found that they both contained the same product, Camu-Camu, instead of one being Maca. When I brought this to ******************** attention, she said she would send my friend a bottle of the Maca, she never did. Her sloppy manufacturing and mislabeling can cause food born illness and Anaphylaxis.

      Dear BBB representative and customer,

I have been working with ************************* and ******************************************** in *******************, ********** **, for almost a year and we had a nice professional relationship. Regarding this complain I'm glad to get a chance to address these issues for customers.

      1. Before we start, I have processed the refund payment to Healthy Foundations, per **************** request, as you can see in the bank statement attachment confirmation from Healthy Foundations.

According to company policies we do supply full size samples and literature to client and answer any questions the client might have at all times. ************************ had the opportunity to get samples and test them before she decided to buy the products and she has placed more than once orders for the same products she finds problematic. I also want to emphasize that in the last correspondence we had few days ago she wants still to buy from our company. The above mentioned "problematic" products were experimental and she came and pick those up in my home address several times.

      2. In the complaint is mentioned  fermentation. Usually it means beneficial properties are developing such as B vitamins and/or probiotics. These ingredients are whole food and unless the client is  allergic to a specific ingredient, the product is incredibly nutritious and supports the body in a natural way. We all know our food sensibilities. The comparison with tylenol issues in the past is unfounded, precisely because our products do not contain any harsh chemicals, it is food, so this claim is null and void. It doesn't apply.

I am grateful for the complaint because we do get an opportunity to speak directly and address a wide range of customers.

      Thank You

      ************************* at Elixir Inc.
