      On 8/31/2024 my car was towed by United Road Towing, **** who incorrectly hooked up the towing equipment causing thousands of dollars worth of damages to my car and making the car undrivable to where I could not even leave the impound lot. The car is totaled. I have called multiple times to speak with the claims department and have not heard a response. I was also in town from **** and incurred additional travel costs as a result of my car being totaled.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The car had to be towed from the impound to the Toyota dealership because it was not drivable. Also I live in Ohio and had to go back so I didn’t miss anymore time at work. Thus, it was not feasible for me to tow my car to 2 other locations ($225 tow fees plus additional nights hotel stays while they inspect my car) so I was only able to get one estimate. Please see attached. The BBB won’t let me attach a last picture which is the service fee of $188 however all of these photos were emailed to the claims email listed which they gave me at the impound. That email was sent on September 14, 2024.

      My car was booted and towed in Nov 2023. I finally paid the fees and got my car out in May 2024. When I got it, I realized that there was substantial damage to the front of the car. It either happened when it was towed or when it was in the lot. I was told to file a claim, so I did. They said theyd get back to me in 4-6 weeks. Its been 13 weeks and no reply. Ive left numerous messages and sent many emails to their claims department and I get ignored. They caused $7,000-$10,000 worth of damage. I retained a lawyer and am contemplating filing a lawsuit. I cant believe the City of Chicago contracts a company that ignores people who file claims.

      Our investigation, as substantiated by the type of towing equipment utilized, motor vehicle inventory report which noted front end and other damages, tow driver and yard personnel concluded the damage reported was not the result of any action or negligence on the part of our company.  We deny any responsibility for the pre-existing damage to the vehicle.
      We cannot respond to the claimants request of repair and replacement of damaged/missing items. The vehicle was not in either the claimants or our possession for a period of time immediately prior to having been towed.  It is unknown what occurred while the vehicle was left parked unattended on the street accruing tickets.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      everything the company said is a lie. There was no front end damage prior to the car being towed. Furthermore, the car received one ticket and then was booted and towed. This company has zero proof of how long the car was parked on the street before it got towed. However, it was parked one night and then got booted, and then towed. The accusatory and malicious nature of the companies response to BBB shows how unprofessional they are. Furthermore, the company told me theyd respond to me in 4-6 weeks after I filed my claim. Its now been 16 weeks and I have heard nothing. I have filed a complaint with the ***, the ********************************, the ****************************** & Consumer Protection for Chicago and ****. Im also in the process of having the police report I filed for damage to my car upgraded to a Class A misdemeanor hit-and-run with the *************************. Finally, my attorney sent a demand letter to this company and their parent company, which was ignored. We are filing a lawsuit with small claims in *********** and your company will be required to appear in court. Good luck!

      My vehicle was towed on June 1st, 2024. Upon recovering it from the auto pound, the vehicle had significant damage from the process of towing, around $2000 based on three separate estimates. I filed a claims complaint within several weeks. As of today's date, August 14th, I have yet to hear back from the company about my claim. The phone number provided for *********** goes unanswered, no matter how many times I call or how many messages I leave. I would like for this matter to be settled expeditiously.

      My car was towed on 7/26/24 while tow truck driver was pulling away my car as not hooked up correctly which resulted in damages. Pictures were taken on property of tow yard by workers who also stated the tow driver *************** truck # *** has a history of damaging cars. My car is a 2024 off the show room floor. All pictures were sent in on Wednesday 7/31/24 It took 3 days to get a call back. Claims was not open over the weekend. Received a letter in the mail dated 8/5/24 that my claim was denied. No one call or came to see the damages.

      The process of towing or repositioning a vehicle is the same when the proper equipment and procedures that we have in place are utilized.  Our specialized wheel lift equipment only engages with the tires of a vehicle during the tow.  We cannot assume any liability for damage to various parts of a vehicle not directly involved with towing procedure.  We again deny any responsibility for the current condition of the vehicle.

      My vehicle was towed by this company and the driver did not properly secure my vehicle so by him not doing this he knocked my bumper off on both sides and my head lights are not working properly either I contacted the company several times and sent pictures and a estimate of what happened and all I was told was that they were investigating the situation and would get back to me that was over a month ago I tried to contact them last week to resolve this issue and they are are now not responding to any emails or messages thats being left with their dispatchers

      2017 International Box Truck was illegally towed on 5/25/24 @7:45 PM. Was delivering to an event venue at ********************************************************** had my truck backed up to door and was waiting for party to be over so I can pickup the equipment that I delivered there. Vehicle was broken into and taken by E&R towing. Had people outside that witness this happened and they said it looked suspicious how they did it. **************** Police was called and agreed that Legally there has to be a tow sign up posted or private property sign as well as no parking sign neither was posted. Officer told me there wasn't nothing they can do since this is a civil case. I have a picture of the whole building with no signs posted at all. Towing company said tow was due to property managers request (a lie)Reach out to property manager and the property manager denied that he had the vehicle towed away. Company can't provide proof of calls, name of person who called, nor pictures of vehicle before they towed it. Picked up vehicle and noticed significant damaged to my tires(like they were dragged down the street), truck was towed from the rear, truck look like somebody ran thru it looking thru it, missing my electric cooler, as well as lift gate was damaged and bent up. Explained and showed the damage to the person I paid cash to for the release of my vehicle and he said that I had to call back on Tuesday to file a claim as well as receive the pictures of the vehicle before it was towed which is required. Told him I was calling police to report damage. Called ************** they said that I have to take them to civil court for the damage. Called and asked for pictures and lady by the name of ********************************* told me that she was unable to provide me pictures or videos of my vehicle. I argued with them all day proving that my vehicle was towed on an accident and they still insisted that I had to pay 700$ to get it back. E&R towed my vehicle with the wrong equipment that is why pics can't be provided.

      There were no posted signs in our around building. Legally signs have to be posted on each side of the building. Attached are pics of building with no signs attached on neither side. Like I explained to you all I was delivering to a party venue. Went up front to talk to the owner and came back and you all took my truck like it was up for repo. Not only took my truck illegally, you towed my truck with the wrong equipment and caused damage to it. Towed with a tow truck you move cars with. These trucks require a wrecker to tow the vehicle. Spoke to property manager and he said he never requested a tow. Property manager said he will talk to E&R about the illegal tow since I was delivering to a local business and contracted to deliver and pick up supplies for a party for them.

      Complainant's box truck was properly towed by an appropriately sized medium-duty tow truck utilizing the correct under reach equipment.  We will not consider a refund in this case.  The box truck was correctly identified and towed as a trespassing vehicle.

      I am rejecting this response because:Theyre lying.  They towed my truck with a ****** truck.  Where it was parked there was no way to get a flatbed in front of it.  It also was the heaviest snow day of the season.  My car didnt mysteriously get damaged.  Of course theyll deny it.  They didnt even know it was an all wheel drive car until I requested them to bring it back on a flatbed.  As soon as he dropped the vehicle I noticed the damage. They never patrol in flat **************** ****** trucks. Since *** lived here Ive never seen a flatbed patrol this area.  I inspect cars for a living.  Repossesed vehicles come in with this type of damage all the time because of careless grabbing.

      Hello my Name is ******************************* and i am here to send a complaint about my car impound claim , back in June-July I got my car out the pound and it was scrap with all my wheels and tires and etc things that was taken from my car that was on there before my car got impounded so I made a claim and ever since then I been working with and talking to ******************************* the claim manager that runs over my claim . when I first sent my email in and my claim in for it to go through was in early August , when I made my first phone call to check in on in he told me that he didnt even see it at first and that he just started to work on it that day , and told me the process would take 2-3 months just like the papers told me , its December and the only thing he have told me that he trying to get a meeting for my claim . For the last a couple of months nothing have changed but he trying to get a meeting for it and I have emails to prove. Im making this complaint because if I didnt have outside help to get me new tires it would have been 4 months without my car and I work my car is my daily driver and its still stuff thats wrong with my car that I need fix because of the my car being in the pound and I just need answers and figure out how can I get my money from these people.
