My ca broke down march of this year. the people at Rock island automotive took in the car and were going to replace the engine. i had been taking my car to their location in rock island back and forth the year prior to due to an oil leak that was never actually fixed. Last december they informed me they relocated to a **************. i was ignored many times when i attempted to check on the progress on the car just to receive a text in the month that they said the engine would be there, saying that the manufacturer had closed down and wouldnt be open or able to get me an engine until october. After months of going without a car and getting every excuse in the book for why it wasnt ready, they told me that the engine had come in but it was the incorrect one and that they had to send it back and wait for the right one. i tried going to speak in person to get to the bottom of what was going on and where the correct engine was in august. They never gave me their new location and ignored all of my texts and calls asking for proof. after getting family involved they gave us an address to where my car was and when we went to see it, it was parked outside of some random house on the side of the street next to a car garage with no other cars nearby. We had the car towed to a different mechanic and decided to wait for the engine to come in october like they said it would since it had already been paid for and supposedly ordered. Its now october and im still being ignored , there is no engine, and i have requested a refund for the $4000 that my grandmother spent on the engine. Theyre still giving excuses saying that they need to find the paperwork thats in storage with the name and number of the guy that apparently is sending the correct engine. i have gone through so much stress and anger and anxiety and loss of money because of these people. theres been times i was unable to get to work many times ive had to pay to get rides all because these people are criminals.
