A site manager (Alex ************************* contacted my mother in church asking her to speak to me to let the company he works for do a free inspection of the roof to see if it could be replaced. After the roof inspection and the insurance appraising the damage the insurance sent the check for the solar panels to be temporarily removed and the roof replaced. Martin Exteriors wanted to keep all the money, I disagreed and asked for the solar panel work and window screen money, they seemed upset and when their work was 'done' kept pushing to be paid everything right away.I had to ask **** (*********) Martinez to come and pick up some of their tools and debris that was left behind and reject signing that the work was completed and inspected by me because it was dark outside. The next day I noticed that the shingles on the back side of the house where the kitchen roof and the master bedroom meet are bent, popping up. I asked for it to be fixed but it was not. Then about a month and a half after the roof replacement I see water on the basement section where the corner of the ****** meets the drop off of the roof of the garage into the gutter. The previous owners of my house had a leak on the same spot but fixed it before selling it to me. For the last 2 years and 4 months I saw no evidence of water leaking in until Martin Exteriors **** replaced my roof. Martin Exteriors keeps giving reasons why its not their fault. All I want is for Martin Exteriors to finish the job and for not my roof not to leak into the inner sections of the of the wall/corner of my dining room and the garage wall going down into the floor of the dining room and the basement.Business response

We met with this homeowner on Thursday July 18th. He called initially because of a leak he noticed coming into his garage and onto the floor in the house. After an inspection we noticed some rotted wood underneath the carpet in his living room. This leak appears to have been happening for a long time. We replaced the roof in May. During the inspection of the exterior, we removed some siding on the front of the house and discovered there is no house wrap under his siding. This is the cause of the leak in his living room and also causing water to get into his basement. Martin Exteriors did not replace the siding on this home. We let the homeowner know that he will need to replace his siding and have house wrap installed to prevent any further issues.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: The response from the Business seems to be a word for word comment that the roof installer kept making when he (****) came to see why the roof was leaking, which never explained why the leak that appeared after the roof change was not happening every time it happened to rain with the old roof. Until I found **** was the lead for the roof installation. As mentioned before, there was no visible water flow of the volume that appeared after the old roof was ripped off and the new roof was installed BEFORE the roof was replaced. I am not sure who posted on behalf of Martin Exteriors but I did get in contact with ****** who was very understanding of my situation and asked the lead of the crew who seems to have performed the roof installation to patch the side and corner where the garage roof meets the dormer of the large window in the front of the house.
After the two roofing workers patched the side of the dormer that meets the garage roof and the front of the dormer that meets the garage roof as well as creating a small step flashing that curves the water away from the siding of the front of the dormer there was a significant and noticeable reduction of water coming down the corner of the dormer with in the wall, down the wall or down into the basement, So far.
A roofer from the team that came with ****** tried his best to correct the roof sections that were popping up on the back side of the house, he seemed to miss one of the shingles that were popping up against the siding but ****** said that he would contact ****** to stop by and fix that last shingle popping up on the back side of the house. ****** nor ****** has called to let me know when they will stop by to fix the last popping shingle in the back but I'm sure he will stop by when he can. I will contact ****** to see when that roofing shingle can be fixed, after that we should be good.
Sincerely,

We have had SEVERAL issues with our roof. They have had to come out 4 times to fix their mistakes. Now again, our roof is leaking by a vent. The repair guy came out and told us that it was installed incorrectly aroundvthe vent. The same fan they they had to replace because they broke it. It is dripping along the wall and the water leads directly to an electrical outlet. We had **** call this morning telling us that we need to call an hvac guy.... for what? It never leaked before they installed the roof. The repair guy said that they would fix it but **** says different. So why do I need to spend a ton of money to get an HVAC guy out here to fix what they broke? Absolutely terrible company to work with. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes.Business response

The owner lives on our street. We have been contacted 3 times over the past few weeks in an attempt to earn our business. Each time was met with a resounding no. It now borders on harrassment. If this practice does not cease, i will contact the authorities. Thank you.Business response

Good Morning, I am contacting you regarding a complaint filed against Martin Exteriors.
This complaint says that it is regarding "repair issues" We have no record of this person as a client or prospective client. This is not a customer of ours and I believe this complaint to be erroneous. It would be unfair to allow this complaint against us to be made public in my opinion as there is nothing we can do to rectify the situation. We have no idea who this person is.
I would also add that the statements are defamatory and if published would be libel. It is clear this person has a personal issue with one of our employees and this is definitely not a repair issue or an issue with a customer experience. We have consulted with our attorney and he is prepared to file suit for defamation should the statements be made public.
Thank you,
Martin Exteriors

I am rejecting this response because:1) i never was required to list "repair reason" . I have screenshots of the entire complaint process as evidence. One does not need to be a current, disenfranchised customer to formalize a complaint under this platform, and the complaint was accepted by the BBB based on their own complaint standards. Baseless accusations will not rectify this situation, but simply encourage further escalation.
2) events are factual and proven with survelliance cameras.
I am sharing a personal complaint, due to the extraordinary amount of "visits" from this company and requesting no further contact from this business. The owner chooses to double down by threatening legal action, further defaming his own "good character."
Continuing to marginalize my experience, he now is threatening my rights to free speech. I just want your pathetic salespeople to understand "no" means "no." But like a ******, that word r8eally means nothing, right?
