I went to an estate sale on 3/24/2023 at ***********************************************************. I made a purchase of patio table with chairs, bench swing, and well pump. I told them I will pickup the next day 3/25/23 due to bringing a bigger vehicle. I live 2 minutes from this estate sale and told them. I went today and the lady there called me a fraud and scam artist. I cant believe the way I was treated. I called the police because I had paid $140 the police informed me to contact better business bureau. Due to being a civil matter.. so that is why Im contacting you, this is unprofessional and will give your company a bad reputation. They have my name listed and what was paid. I also bought a jewelry box and 2 bracelets that I took yesterday. Everything was listed by them. They told me you have no receipt so Im a fraud. They told me when I purchased we have you written down to give my name. This treatment is so unprofessional. I go to estate sales all the time, I buy and resell that is my profession. Ive never been so disrespected in this way in my life. This is extremely bad business.Business response

Yes, **** did attend the estate sale on ******* Drive on Friday March 24th late in the day. He was interested in purchasing outdoor patio items. His interest was in the following items: Table set with chairs $100.00, glider at $*****,umbrella at $45.00, umbrella base at $25.00 and outdoor well pump at *****. We made a list of the items of interest with their prices totaling $290.00. **** was requesting a discount of 50% off all items making that total now $145.00 with the discount he was requesting.
Then he wanted to see the total of the patio table and chairs at $100.00, the glider at $***** and the well pump at $***** totals to $220.00 making his balance due us at $110.00. After seeing that **** changed his mind. He said, Remove the umbrella, remove the umbrella base and I dont need the glider or the well pump. I just want the patio table set and the chairs which was $100.00 and at half he would have paid us $50.00.
**** then stated that he had to get help and a vehicle to be able to haul it back to his home. He said Ok, let me just pay for the jewelry box which he did and then asked us what time do we close? and we told him 3:00pm so let us know if you want the patio table and chairs. He rushed out and said I will be right back and we waited for him until 3:45pm to come back and pay. He never returned, he never paid us and he never owed us $140.00 which he stated was the amount to the officer that he paid. YET when he arrived at the sale on Saturday March 25th for what he thought was the pick-up of his table and chairs, he stated he paid us $130.00. The numbers he is providing to us and the ****************** do not match up. Again, if he would have purchased the table and chairs, he would have only paid $50.00. We have NO receipt of his so-called purchase and **** has no receipt of his so-called purchase and could not produce that paperwork to us or to the ******************.
Kais reported to the police that he was in a hurry due to his children. Now, completely understanding that, we believe **** THOUGHT he paid for the table and chairs but due to the rush of having to get to where he needed to go, he unfortunately did NOT pay because we would have a receipt and so would he. We welcome him to show a receipt, without that, he has not paid. AND he never would have paid $130.00 or $140.00. It was only $50.00 because he declined the other items of interest.
So, the list we have is a tally of the interest in items and it was in no shape or form a receipt or that he paid. Purchases receive a receipt.
In closing, NO ONE EVER said he was a fraud or a scam artist, that was Kais terms, NEVER OURS. What was said was it seems like a scam since he stated he paid $130.00 to us and $140.00 to the ******************, yet the balance due was $50.00 if he decided to purchase just the table and chairs. Also, **** came with a friend on Saturday March 25th, who started yelling that **** paid us yet this friend was never there on Friday to witness payment or non-payment. Honestly, the chaos began when the friend became fired up and had no right doing so. We were calmly explaining to ****, you never paid for the table and chairs, just the jewelry box. **** never decided on what items he really wanted. He was in a hurry and did not make a decision to purchase any of the items on the list, so he left : UNPAID.Customer response
