Purchased 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan from Tri State, test drove before purchase with no check engine light and no issues. Second time we drove it after purchasing the check engine light came on. The code was read and it showed P0306 which is cylinder 6 misfire. Called tri state to notify them of the issue and they said that they will send somebody to take a look at it and diagnose the issue. The tech came out and verified that there was something wrong and could not fix it remotely. Tri state asked if they could fix it and assured me that they would take care of the problem. Tri State had the van for 2 days and stated that everything was working appropriately even though the code kept returning after it was cleared. Tri State then stated that they checked compression and it was only 20 lbs low but everything was normal. Tri state stated that they would not do anything else, and that we were sold a warranty for a reason. We were also informed that the warranty company would most likely not cover the issue because we had the car for only 2 days before the issue appeared. Tri State suggested we put in injector cleaner or sea foam to clean things out because that was the most likely issue. We took the van to *************** to have them diagnose the problem and they found the compression to be 50 lbs low, and the cylinder head would need replaced because the valve was not sealing. *************** tried to file the claim with the warranty company. At this point it only cost ** $129 to diagnose the issue, *************** then reach out to the warranty company to start the claim process. The warr company then asked many questions and said they would need to send a auditor out to check out the vehicle. The warranty company told me I would have to have ********* ***** tear down the cylinder head so they could inspect it. That would cost $169.00. The warranty company said they most likely will not cover since it was 2 days after.Customer response

Hello,
I was hoping to talk with someone before this complaint was sent out as the information is not complete. I was not able to write the whole story. I have attached the bill we ended up having to pay to *************** for the needed repairs. Tri State said they would not help with the cost as they would be liable for the vehicle if they put money into it. Tri State said they would buy the van back for for $9700 something. We paid over 10 for it including our trade they sold the next day. I hope this makes sense.
