I hired Jent construction in September ‘21 to complete a full exterior renovation on a home i had just purchased. I was required to put 50% down on the job and was advised the roof portion would be completed within 2-3 weeks and the remaining part of the job was 6-8 weeks (siding, gutters, soffit work). It has now been over six months and only 25% of the job has been completed. I have now advised three different employees to refund the remaining portion of my deposit due to the lack of communication and timeline. I was also made aware by another company that I had come out and bid the job recently that they had come onto my property and completed additional work after i already asked for a refund without my consent or knowledge. This was a time sensitive job, and I’m aware of the transportation delays, but nothing is taking over six months. I still have yet to hear anything from the company after my last message asking yet again for a refund. one of the employees claimed someone was going to be reaching out to me to resolve the issue, but i never heard anything from him even after reaching out directly.Business response

We entered into a contract with faith may on September 14, 2021 to complete the following projects, two shingle roofs- one on the house and one on the porch, a flat roof, gutters, facia, soffit, siding, windows, window wrap, and removal of chimneys and satellites. Work began on November 18, 2021, roofing phase 1 was completed on November 22, 2021. Due to weather and temperatures, phase 2 of the roofing was started on December 9, 2021 and completed on December 10, 2021. After numerous attempts to contact faith, we took it upon ourselves to get the next phase completed. Roofing phase 3 was started on March 1, 2022 and completed on March 1, 2022. We communicated to her that the rubber roofs (phase 3)should not be installed under 55 degrees. There may have been two or three days in between throughout the winter that this would’ve been possible, but we were never able to reach her. Faith entered into a binding contract, which we do not plan to release her from. The work that has been completed meets or exceeds standard roofing applications and we look forward to completing the remainder of the job if we can ever get a hold of her. Please see the attached files- The contract which was signed by faith and a screenshot of the owner of the company trying to reach out to her via text message after trying to call her 13 times with no returned calls. You are also able to see that she read the text message over a month later.
