Complaint Letter to the Better Business Bureau Regarding Missing Vehicle Title ****** ******* ****** ********************** ************ 10/28/2024 Better Business Bureau Subject: Delay in Receiving Vehicle Title Urgent Resolution Needed To whom it may concern,I am writing to file a complaint against Honda *********, located at ********************************, regarding a significant delay in receiving my vehicle title. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on August 31, 2024, with the *** *****************, and despite my numerous follow-ups, I have still not received the title as of today, October 28, ******* temporary license plate expired on October 19, 2024, which has left me unable to legally drive the vehicle. Since the date of purchase, I have consistently reached out to Honda Hare **** regarding the title status. On September 4, 2024, I called to confirm that I would receive the title in a timely manner, and on September 30, 2024, I called again and was assured I would be updated. I left voicemails requesting a status update and was promised a follow-up call on October 15, 2024, which I did not receive. Each attempt to reach the dealership has resulted in vague assurances but no concrete information or action. This delay has created substantial inconvenience and financial risk, as I am unable to legally register or insure my vehicle without the title. I am reaching out to the Better Business Bureau in the hope of securing assistance in resolving this matter. I request that Honda Hare **** fulfill its responsibility by promptly providing the title to me.Thank you for your attention and assistance in this matter. I look forward to a swift and satisfactory resolution.Sincerely,****** ******* ******

The business has now responded after I had to reach out and follow up multiple times, when asked to be give the title paperwork I was told that it would need to be at least another week to 3 weeks. In the meanwhile I was given a dealer tag, this is after reporting this issue to the BBB and calling their managers then having to go in person. Although the company has responded I still have to wait another week for my title work which occurs me to pay a late fee fine and not being to get my title after 2 months of purchasing my vehicle. The issue is now supposedly being resolved but is clearly not a priority to them. The dealership has not fulfilled their side of the agreement to give me my title documents within 31 days of the vehicle purchase.

Purchased a vehicle on July 12th with a trade in. Dealership took the license plate off my trade in and put it on my car saying I could drive legally for 30 days and to wait for paperwork. This was presented to me as the only option. 28 days later I call to find that I will not get my title paperwork by the 30 day deadline. I was then told by three people that **** would pay for any ticket I receive while driving this way, suggesting this isn't a new practice. I was then told by a Hare employee that the deadline for title paperwork is actually 45 days, which is would be right if I were driving on a temp tag, which I am not. When I contacted the Indiana BMV they told me that the process I just described was an illegal transfer and that I was already driving an unregistered vehicle.

Attached is the guest Title Application.  This was sent to ************** on 8-13-2024.  He will be able to go to his local BMV to complete the registration on his purchase vehicle.

      Better Business Bureau:

For the record, when I was told "I'm sorry that you believe the *** over us" is when I decided to file reports. I'm a government worker and while it might not be as lofty a position as used car salesman, we have our pride too.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me.

I replaced timing belt and water pump on my 2000 Honda Accord at the Hare Honda dealership and ever since the coolant was leaking. The leak was small at the beginning, about 1 quart per 1000 miles but was getting worse over the time leading eventually to another replacement of the water pump and timing belt. When it was done at independent repair shop the mechanic found that Hare Honda installed faulty water pump and didn't install one bolt that holds belt tentioner that could potentially destroy the engine. Unfortunately it happened outside of the warranty period. I haven't complained within the warranty period because the leak was small initially and there was no way to notice the missing bolt without partially disassembling the engine. This was my second negative experience with the dealership out of two total. The first time Hare Honda replaced front wheel bearings and didn't fasten break calipers. I had to come back and wait two hours while Hare Honda was fixing the problem.

The initial start in financing a car through them went well, but after the signing on Saturday, the next day on the way home from the grocery store the under body shielding comes off and drags all the way home; had to purchase new bolts and washers to repair myself on this day. Two weeks later more shielding comes off at work and had to use a bungee cord to hold until I got home. The process of getting a dent repaired that they stated up front with documentation would be fixed has now gone wrong and most likely will not be set right. *************************, the finance manager, forgot to provide the paperwork at signing for my registration and license plate; and as a result of this I was harassed and threatened days later by ********************* if I did not stop everything in my life and immediately come and sign this documentation or they would come and tow my car away even though this was their mistake. This was done after I had set up an appointment with *********************** to come in on 3-18-23 to sign the document. All of this has taken place before my first payment, and now I cannot get in touch with anybody at Hare Honda to address these issues and more, and I am not sure if I will have a registration and a license plate before ****** which is when my temporary plate expires. Besides the obvious, I think that there ought to be some type of substantial compensation for how bad I have been treated by this company, but in today society this is unlikely to happen. Just very very bad customer service!!!
