On or about the beginning of March 2024. I took my 2007 GMC Acadia to Midas so they could tell me some work that needed to be done. They told me I needed new hoses on the vehicle, but it wasnt an urgent matter so I decided to wait later. My car started to overheat and I noticed leaking in the driveway so at that point, I decided I was going to try to fix the hoses myself once I took the hoses off I realize I was not going to have enough time to complete the project on April 16, 2024. I called Midas and I told them my vehicle would be getting towed to them to complete the work once I arrived alongside the tow truck , I told them the vehicle could not be started because the hoses were not connected the front desk ran outside and told the tow truck driver to drop the vehicle in bay 2. The worker then asked me to come outside and show him the work I had done while explaining to him. The technician got very rude and upset so then I told him not to worry about it. I will take my vehicle to a different shop the front desk, then proceeded to tell me he would take care of me, and I would have a different technician working on my vehicle, so I decided to go ahead and let them complete the job they told me I needed to go by transmission fluid power steering fluid and antifreeze so I left the facility to go buy those items upon arriving back to Midas. I noticed that my vehicle was no longer in bay 2 as I was walking up to the building, I noticed a trail of fluid following where the vehicle had now been placed so because of their negligence too much air had gotten into the system, and my power steering completely went out so on top of the money I have already paid them they are saying its going to cost more to fix the problem they caused. The images below are the cost of the first job and the new quote for the now needed RepairsInitial Complaint

Business was given approval of payment by America. Trucks so they completed the work on the truck but would not release the truck after I was called to come pick it up. If they were not going to release the truck it should not have been touched.Customer response

Midas illegally held my vehicle for 26 hours. Midas and American trucks agreed to do the work. I had already paid for the installation so there was zero wrong doing on my part. The employee working had no knowledge of this program or vehicles. I informed American Trucks they should reconsider doing business with this branch and they are discussing that option since this should of never happened. Civil action for my inconvenience and illegally keeping my vehcile is coming. They need to apologize and discipline the employees involved.Customer response

On 11/29/23 I took my ***** Sonic on to be diagnosed and fixed. It was sputtering and the check engine light was on. After paying ************************************ I needed both O2 sensors, a fuel injection flush and new spark plugs. They said the plugs and flush could wait but in order to clear the issue I was having I needed the sensors replaced immediately total: $1017. I asked why they were $200 more than the other Mdas and was told because this one only used OEM parts. I had them do it and after I picked it up I drove 1 mile and the same issue and the check engine light came back on. I took it back the very next morning and they then told me I now needed a Valve cover for $418.99 plus labor. At this point I went home and contacted their part supplier and found the EVERY part they quoted me were not only NOT OEM parts as I was told but were less than 50% what I paid.I then took it to a dealership who diagnosed and fixed problem for $400 parts and labor with actual OEM parts. I was also informed by the dealership that to replace both O2 sensors should have been around $375 for parts and labor. As well as them informing me I did not need a fuel injection flush.Initial Complaint

We will always take care of our customers under warranty, and we are sorry about the issues the customer is experiencing with their vehicle. If we had caused the damage, we would have resolved the customers concern, however, the items claimed by the customer were not caused by us and we are simply unable to accommodate the customers request. We are happy to offer the customer a complimentary oil change and would appreciate the opportunity to work with this customer again.

I took my **** Pontiac bonneville to Midas ********************* 5/18/2022 I had 3 lights on my dash bored the check engine and the ************** control I asked for them to do a diagnostic which they charged me ****** and a inspection of my suspension which they charged me ***** also an oil change. The ************************* called me around 10am that morning and informed me that the wiring had been chewed up by mice and it would need new wiring plus there was a bad wheel bearing and with the oil change the cost would be ****** I agreed and around 320 that afternoon I paid for the repairs and picked the car up. The next day while driving from work I kept smelling something burning but thought nothing of it due to driving in the city passed it off as a Simi going by me. The following day while working I came to a stop while driving my car and the tire was catching Like my car didn't wanna come to a stop properly so again while going home I keep smelling something like burnt rubber and I get home have my dad take my tire off to check my break pads and my whole driver side front strut had been sitting directly on top of my tire the whole time I was smelling rubber it was my tire rubbing the strut. I called midas and spoke to ****** because I had just had my car in there a few days prior and paid them to do an inspection in which they reported on the paper I have "LF wheel bearing noisy" so I asked ****** which one of my wheel bearing was it you guys changed? He responded by saying I'm not sure it was one of the front bearing but could not tell me which one it was. I said so you guys noticed the wheel bearing was noisy and changed a bearing but can't tell me which one and didn't notice the strut sitting directy on my tire rubbing it that could have caused an accident with my child in the car. He just responded by is it a broken spring? I told him I'm not a mechanic that's why I took it to you guys he had an attitude because they didn't do there job.Business response

As the customer Stated. She came in with a couple warning lights on her dash.
as she stated we found wires that had been chewed up and a bad wheel bearing, plus she requested an oil change.
we fixed the wires, replaced the wheel bearing and preformed the oil change as approved by her.
all of the problems she came in for are resolved.
this is a 2005 car with 235,159 miles on it. a few days after she left, she call saying that A strut broke on her car. that she had it at another mechanic and would not bring the car to us to look at and
she wanted all of her money back or she would Contact her close friend who was very high up at the Better Business Bureau.
we can only warrantee the work that we preformed. any additional repairs need to the car. are the owners responsibility.

I am rejecting this response because:
When I took my car in the shop there was a burning smell which I assumed was a wheel bearing and they said they changed it but can not tell me which wheel bearing was changed. So if they don't know which one then how am I supposed to believe it was even changed when they can't tell me which one was changed? Also I paid to have an inspection done of the suspension does that not include struts which is part of the suspension? They noticed there was a leak coming from that wheel bearing but didn't notice a strut sitting directly on top of my tire? Not once did the ************************* say bring it back in so we can look at it anz as far as the work done to it like I said they can't even tell me which wheel bearing it was so if they don't know then how am I to know it was even done? And clearly they can not garentee the work they have done to it because they don't even know what they done to it and they clearly missed what I paid them to inspect.Business response

When the customer came into our shop. As she stated in her first letter. Her concerns were. She had ABS light on and A traction control light on her dash and was getting a noise in front end.
She never mention a burning smell at that time. three weeks later when she called us. was the first time she mention the burning smell.
we asked her to bring the car back and she stated "it was at another repair shop and she just wanted all of her money back or she would contact her close friend at the Better Business Bureau.
we preform Diagnostics and found that the (LEFT) front wheel bearing was bad. We replaced it and the warning lights are out.
She did pay for a front end inspection and at that time we didn't notice any problems. If she would like to bring it back we would be glad to inspect it for free.
if its related to anything we did we will fix it under the warrantee. if not we will give her an estimate on the repairs.
