I've used Knot Just Decks for years. They installed a Trex deck for me ****************************** great shape. It involved removing a concrete platform, repairing an area under my sliding door that originally had no flashing, and installing the deck, More recently they refaced the front of my house and chimney box and installed some gutters. This past spring they replaced a porch post and installed new soffits. They do quality work and stand by it. They are responsive and professional. That's why they are my "go to" company!

We contracted with Knot Just Decks in April of 2022 to install deck tile and an outdoor kitchen. The project was poorly managed (NO COMMUNICATION) and several components of the job had to be redone. The pergola that was built was to low so we were unable to install the original ceiling fan that had been agreed upon, at no time did **** offer to fix the height. The electrical installation was also handled by (KJD) contractor. The electrical only worked for about a week. My husband being an technical engineer decided to take a look under the deck only to find that the wiring for the kitchen was not installed properly. The wires were dangling and not secured. The housing for the wiring was regulated for indoor not outdoor. When my husband reached out to the electrician to talk to him directly we found out that he was not actually licensed. He was told that in the state of Ohio if you are working on residential electrical you do not need to be licensed, at which time my husband pointed out that we were in the state of Indiana! When this was brought to the attention of KJD they did not seem to know this person was not licensed. Again just one of many issues. A few weeks later we noticed the weight of the kitchen had started causing a lot of pressure to the existing deck so much so that the deck railing and the actual deck itself was being pulled up out of the ground. When my husband addressed this with **** (KJD) he told my husband that the deck was fine and still level. My husband had to go out with an actual level to show proof what he had been telling him all along that they had not put enough supports under the deck. To which he was told they do this all the time it would be fine. When his crew came back out they agreed that there was an issue. The masonry did a good job although KJD did not give him the correct dimensions for the bar top and that had to be ripped out and replaced as well. All in all our experience with KJD was horrible. I would not recommend them.

******, First off, thank you for bringing your dissatisfaction to our attention again. We really do strive to make sure every customer is happy by the time we are done with their project. As you already know, just before your project started, we had brought in a new project manager. His responsibility included making sure everything on the job flowed as smoothly as possible. We know it did not, and we did everything we could to make it right. We brought in a new licensed in the state of Indiana electrician to make any necessary adjustments/repairs. We made sure the crew that initially installed the deck tiles returned and raised the deck and properly supported it. We had the bar top removed and replaced with one the proper size, and we even had the gas line hooked up for the grill and pizza oven. You did fail to mention that the electrical, gas, and drink trough portion of the project were not in your initial proposal and we never wrote a change order or charged you for those items. You also failed to mention that we did give you a $500 credit for the mishaps that took place but were corrected. We know we are not perfect and that we will not make everyone happy, but that does not keep us from trying. Again, were sorry that you were not completely satisfied with us but please know we did do all we could to try to make you happy!
