Hello ********,
I am going to explain why your actual bill was higher than the estimate that was sent out with our technician for your road call. The estimate (which is not a quote) includes the normal billing for a road service call which includes:
2 hour minimum (port to port) billing $290.00
Road service call out fee: $45.00
Tolls when call is located on the toll road: $36.00
Mandatory State tire fee on new tires: $.25
Tire Disposal if you do not take the scrap with you: $15.00
New Black Hawk tire: $700.00
We never know what situation we are getting into with road service calls, so the estimate (not a quote) is what is prepared for our technician to take out on the road with them.
In this particular case, our technician had to spend an additional hour removing the run flat tire from under the trailer and wrapped around the rim. This is the original verbage from the technician on scene:
(Ran call, located unit, found RF ran to destruction only the tread left wrapped around the rim, sidewalls balled up about 30 feet behind trailer, ****ed unit up, blocked it, and repositioned **** and ****ed it up again, noticed auto inflatjon system was off, peeled tread away, put new tire on rim, inflated to 120 psi, turned on auto inflation system but had to remove the destroyed line to the *** pi ked e erything up, loaded old tire pieces, returned to the shop and disposed of scrap......TJ ).
The additional hour labor was $145.00 ************* rates are $145/hour), plus when paying by credit card there is a fee of 3%, which was $37.85.
I do see where our dispatcher did tell the customer that if we had to wait for the payment, then we would need to add additional time to the bill as well. The billing is from the time our technicians leave our shop and then return. Waiting too long for payment is added as billed time to the customer as well.
I apologize if you were not explained to at the time of service as to why the invoice was higher than the estimate. We do appreciate your business and to save some money and time in the future, we do accept EFS, Comchek and other forms of payment that would make the process go quicker and not have additional fees.
I have attached pictures of the condition of the tire that was removed and the estimate.
Thank you for your time in bringing this to our attention,
