This compliant is concerning a Funeral Services Contract with Forest Lawn Funeral Home, ********* *******. The contract is dated 2/13/2023 for a total net amount due of $3,098.93. This amount was to be paid via two preneed insurance policies. One policy paid $3,098.93 directly to the Funeral Home. Apparently additional funds had accumulated over the years and the insurance company disbursed this residual amount to the estate. The other insurance company disbursed $743.76 directly to Forest Lawn on 2/17/2023. Subsequently I received a revised invoice dated 3/3/0223 from Forest Lawn showing a Balance Due of $0. In checking the invoice I noticed that all the figures matched the contract except for two. The Preneed Discount was $1,752.24 instead of contract amount of $2,496.00 and the Payment Received was $3,842.69 instead of the original contract amount of $3,098.93, for a difference of $743.76. I was not informed that Forest Lawn was making this change to the contract and I did not approve it. I believe that the original contract should prevail and Forest Lawn should refund me the $743.76. My initial request for a refund was denied by the corporate office, StoneMor which is now ******************* stating that ******* code IC 30-2-13-12.5 allowed them to retain the funds. On 5/5/2023 I mailed a letter to the Forest Lawn Funeral Administrator. I also copied the Vice President of Accounting and Corporate Controller. In the letter I included the text of IC 30-2-13-12.5 and pointed out the exception contained in the code. I also outlined additional reasons why I felt they owed me a refund. I received no response to the letter nor any response to other attempts to resolve this issue.Initial Complaint

May 24,2022, I reported my Parent's headstone broken to the office staff. I was told it would be fixed in approximately 8 weeks. I received no notification that this had been done. I went back on July 27, 2022 and I talked to ****, he told me it would probably be another 10 weeks. I checked the headstone on October 26, 2022. It still was not fixed, I talked to the receptionist and asked to speak to ****, she told me he was in another building and she would call for him. When she called she said she was told **** had left for the day, but was familiar with the situation and that the marble was still on back order. I went today February 6, ****, the headstone is still not repaired.
