      On 7/24/2023 we paid a ******* deposit on a steel roof that was going to be cone by Shoemaker Construction llc. We had gotten the deposit from a 401k loan and went to the bank to secure the rest of the ********* that we were quoted for the roof. On 10/8/2023 I messaged him and asked if we have any updates on when he was going to start the roof. He said he would be starting it that week. On November 14 I messaged and asked if we were getting any closer he ignored my message. My husband called him in December and he stated that he was sorry he never ordered materials. That he got swamped and forgot. My husband and ***** had a few more conversations about doing shingles instead of steel and he said he would be out to get measurements and that he could start on it in a few weeks. We have not heard back from him since. Before I started this complaint I tried calling him twice and didn't get an answer at either of his phone numbers. At this point we'd like the roof started and finished. Or to just get a full refund of our deposit.

      I'm not exactly sure how this happened. I'm truly sorry, and a little embarrassed that this happened at all. I would like to make this right as soon as possible. My plan of action is to reach out to the customer directly as soon as possible to make arrangement to complete the work promised. In the future I plan to be more diligent and implicate a new organization system to insure this kind of oversite never happen again. Thank you so much for bring this to my attention.

       I am rejecting this response because: I have talked with **** and he plans to right his error by doing the work we initially paid him for. I will give him the week he asked for but I am not certain he will be here as discussed. He is supposed to show up today (July, 8th) to drop off a brochure so we can discuss the work. I will accept his response as soon as he performs said work.

      Have been in direct contact with the customer. I have discounted the price we originally agreed on do to my oversite. The material is already on sight and the job will be completed within a week.

       I am rejecting this response because: we are in the process of talking and he has stated that he will do the roof at a discounted amount, we have agreed to that. I only have a certain amount of time to answer and respond to the responses of the complaint. He is supposed to be here Saturday to do the job. As long as it is completed I will let this close out.

      I believe, I've done everything in my power in order to make things right given the circumstances. I'm truly sorry for any  inconvenience I myself or we as a business have caused. It's my hope that the ******* are happy and satisfied with their new roof. If there is anything else I can do, or the ******* would like to have done in order to bring this to a close. Please don't hesitate ask.
