EMPLOYEE HERE. NOT RECEIVING OUR PAY IN A TIMELY MANNER FOR THE 2ND WEEK IN A ROW. NEVER RECEIVE PAYSTUBS WITHOUT PESTERING THE *** ALWAYS ISSUES WITH PAY AT ************, ********* LOCATION! WE ALSO FO NOT RECEIVE 30 MIN LUNCH BREAKS OR 10 MIN BREAKS AS REQUIRED.Review from Charlotte B

On 12/15/22 I visited the location at ******************. I noticed cook chewing something and talking on his cell phone while cooking customers food. I spoke with the asst ******* ******* about it and he insisted that the employee wasnt chewing anything and he was talking on his phone. Why is a cook allowed to chew gum or food and talk on his cell phone while cooking customers food? That is unsanitary and a health hazard. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING IN HIS MOUTH NOR BE TALKING ON THE ***** WHILE COOKING AND WORKING. I requested a refund which I had to wait 5-7 business days to receive which I didnt care for but thats what ******* told me. RIDICULOUS!!! I believe it was done because I complained about the cook. There was also a young lady working there that chimed in on the conversation agreeing with ******* about the chewing and the cook talking on his phone. I want you to take a look at the video and see when the cook put whatever he was chewing into his mouth. I know what I saw. I even saw it in his mouth and he lied and said he didnt have anything in his mouth. I told the cook he must have swallowed it. He just laughed it off. I DONT APPRECIATE THE WAY I WAS MISTREATED AS A CUSTOMER AND I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THAT LOCATION EVER AGAIN!! MY SUGGESTION TO YOU IS TO GET A NEW STAFF BECAUSE THE MANAGER AND ASSISTANT MANAGER AT THIS LOCATION DONT CARE ABOUT SATISFYING CUSTOMERS. *** CONTACTED YOU ALL ABOUT THIS SORRY LOCATION SEVERAL TIMES. GET RID OF SORRY ******* AND THE SORRY MANAGER. YOUVE LOST ALL MY, FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUSINESS. I WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS SITUATION AND THE ENTIRE STAFF AT THAT LOCATION. THEY ALL HAVE SORRY **** POOR WORK ETHICS. NOTHING WAS DONE TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM WITH THE COOK. I ALSO WENT THROUGH H*** TRYING TO CALL ALL YOUR SORRY NON WORKING ***** NUMBERS. We ate at the filthiest restaurant weve ever been in. It was store 110 104 in *********** ********. Our feet stuck to the floor when we walked. Service was good and food was good but the restaurant was a dirty mess. The bathroom had a pile of dirt on the floor. We will never go into that store again. Today merry order was wrong I called and they wanted me to bring the order back. Thats fine! I did. Got there drove back through the drive through and they gave me the correct order and I asked if the order was fresh. The lady said yea maam everything is fresh and shut the window as if I irritated her. I was not finished with my question and I was still clearly looking at her. She shut the window and turned away. I left a review and she called me immediately and said she gets all reviews. I said ok she said she wasnt irritated and Im a Liar and did not give me a chance to speak. She continues talking. She hung up on me I called her back and they wouldnt answer. She kept calling me back and wouldnt say anything. I decided to report her to the ****Review from Jim C

********, ******** location - terrible and extremely rude service. Two employees were fighting the entire time we were in there. Our 3 friends got their food, but my wife and I never did get our order. The manager - after he was finally found - grabbed the receipt from my hand, walked to the drive-through area where I suppose the cash register is located, and came back and handed me the cash. No apology, no nothing. I asked him if he could at least apologize and his toothless response was simply "why should I - you ******* money." The air conditioning didn't work, the place was dirty, and all the windows appear to have lost their seal - all are dirty and covered. Next time I drive through ********, ******** I would be shocked if the doors are still open. Then - try to file a complaint with the local store, a regional manager, the corporate office - ANYONE - phones don't work, calls are not returned, and I get the impression Steak 'n Shake is on its way out.Review from Wayne B.

The Gm at ********* ******* Store personally went into other businesses to try to get former employees not hired. Who in their right mind would try to blacklist a 18 year old kids just because they quit. This is shady and needs to be addressedReview from Matthew W

Went In for an Interview with the district manager ***** at the location in *********** ** for GM position. Even given my experience as a GM said I'm not qualified. Fun thing is He's over the district however from the time I went to interview the bathroom was so filthy and the floor sticky and tables were a messy. He can't even manage one Store none the less 9. He was so rude He made fun of my southern accent and told me how thick it was. Like seriously is this guy for real. I'm so offended and disgusted by *********************************************** management They should be shut down if it's going to treat people like that. I ordered specific food because of my stomach issues and my allergies. I repeat my ****** twice and had them repeat it back. When I received my food it was totally wrong. I went back to the drive thru window and they gets an attitude because they mess up my food. I went into the store and asked for a refund they told me no refunds are allowed and all I could get was food. I could have died because of my allergies. This is the second time I've had a near death experience with them. Last time they used the same spoon or something to make my milk shake and it end up having nuts on it so nuts were in my milk shake. Almost died. Done with Steak and shakeReview from Shekianh R

I bought Me and my son a meal at the steak and shake on **** pkwy. And the ling was long and so was the wait. I was In line for 25 mins. Then as i finally Got my food i went Straight to work. As soon as i got To work i gave my son his food and I ate my fries. The fries was old like they had refried them in old grease. I opened My sandwich ( ****** melt ) and it was burnt. I could smell that it was burnt as soon as i took It out the bag. Then i opened It to double check and it was . I called The store immediately and asked to speak to a manager. The manager told me she was sorry and said i can Get the food remade. She took my name down and told me to just come when i can. So i proceeded To at least try to sandwich cause i figured It mite not taste burnt just dark. As i bit A small corner off , it was a long dark brunette stand of hair in my sandwich. So i immediately Didnt want anything else from there. I brung The sandwich up to the store with my receipt and asked for a refund . I explained That i got It Friday night and that i spoke With a manager and she told me to bring my recipe and they would replace it, but i explained That i did not want a replacement that its best I get a refund and showed that lady the sandwich. She told me i dont know why or how hair got in it because we all have on hair nets. Not once did she apologize. The lady told me that they dont do refunds and told me she cant open the drawer. She told me she can only do it online and asked for my name and phone number and card number. She also explained that it would take a week for my refund to return and its been 2 weeks and i still Have not received my money. This experience caused me to really stop eating there.Steak 'n Shake Response
