After purchasing a 5-year extended warranty on my appliances upon purchasing my new home, AIG determined that the warranty period had to be updated because it overlapped the manufacturer's warranty period. However, before the warranty period could be updated, I was told that I had to provide proof of purchase of the appliances. As the appliances came with the new home, I had no separate documentation of purchase. After extensive interaction with different Customer Service Representatives over several weeks, I was informed the Extended Warranty Period had been updated. However, having lost confidence in AIG's performance I have requested a refund of the amount that I paid for the Extended Warranty, $897.12, as I have not used any repair service on the extended warranty. On 10/02/2024, I was informed by the CSR with whom I that a Service Request was initiated which summarizes my request to cancel the Extended Warranty and refund my payment. I was informed that within three (3) days, I should receive an email that updates the Extended Warranty, which by the way, was supposed to already have been updated. I received neither a follow-up email nor telephone call. On 10/09/2024, I called 866.246.4073, explained the situation, and transferred to the Update Department whose connection had a lot of static (sounding like crumbling paper) with no distinguishable communication, after which the individual on the other end of the call hung-up. I called 866.246.4073 again and spoke to a CSR who stated that a follow-up Escalation will be sent to the Contract Update Department. A supervisor will contact me within 1-2 days. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN AIG TO PERFORM THE WARRANTY SERVICE SHOULD THE OCCASION ARISE. JUST REFUND MY MONEY!Review from Benjamin P

Have a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator with an extended warranty plan through Whirlpool / AIG. Temperature inside refrigerator varies by as much as 10 degrees F ranging from 40 to 30 degrees. Whirlpool sent T**** ********* ********* to service the unit. Service tech arrived took several scans and photos, asked no questions and refused to answer any questions or provide a diagnosis. He simply said that I would be hearing from the warranty company within a week. After 2 weeks I contacted AIG. The spineless service tech reported that there were no problems with the refrigerator. AIG informed me that if another service call provided the same results, that I would be billed for the service trip. Some areas on the left side of the refrigerator freeze anything placed there and are unusable. Stay clear of AIG extended warranties and T**** ********* *********. They are only in it for the money.Service Net part of AIG Response

Bought this on my furnace and Lennox replaced under Warranty and this plan was to cover the cost of replacing the furnace, GUESS What, they jerked me around for weeks and finally said replacement was not covered Cost to me was $700’. I would never recommend this company to anyone. As you can see they have a one star rating. Should be no stars.Review from Lakeshia M

DO NOT PURCHASE! This extended warranty was offered to me when I purchased my home. They told me I qualified for the exchange program and they were expediting everything because it’s my refrigerator. The following Saturday I was told that they needed proof of purchase. I informed them verbally and through email I do not have that information the appliances was in the home when I purchased the home. I was told to get the invoice from the builder! Are you serious! So basically you stole money from me because the builder purchase in bulk and I was told the flyer was proof of purchase! Now I have a useless warranty that I cannot use! Hopefully they honest about the refund which I know what happened! This company is very very dishonest please do not use them they will leave you mad and frustrated!Service Net part of AIG Response

They literally cover nothing. Complete waste of money. Total scam. Agents are rude, don’t listen, cut you off, and have zero compassion. Seriously do not buy this warranty. It is pointless.Service Net part of AIG Response

I am so disapointed in this warranty company, I was expecting better service. I have a washer that has been serviced 8 times, I just want compensation for this lemon. One service company they used was unable to fix the noise after 2 attempts as the service man left, he said to me "You just have a noisy machine). When I called AIG again for the noise, I ask that they not send that company again. New repair company young man was very nice and professional. Still unable to fix the machine ordered parts, that fix didn't work either. Ordered some other parts but couldn't get the drum out in fact it broke. Ordered new drum 2 weeks without washing machine, part is on its way called to schedule service was told that those repairmen were on vacation, and it would be another three weeks until they could come to fix my machine. Very angry by now so I called AIG to have a different repair company put in the new drum. I was told that they couldn't send a different company because the other company has all the notes on my machine, I suggested that they send the notes over to the other repair company. Can't do that the other service company would have to start from scratch with coming out to do a diagnostic and start the whole process over. Meaning All the other repairs would not be of record again. This is such poor business; you are there for me!! To not let repair companies talk to each other in today day and age really! I am so done with all of this. KathyService Net part of AIG Response

I purchased the extended warranty for my dishwasher 9/2022. It has been repaired the following dates: 11/22, 2/23, 3/23, and then 6/19/24 AND 6/21/24 (same issue both times this month) and IT IS STILL LEAKING. Their only solution is for me to wait 4 days to schedule the same technician who has failed to repair it twice in a week to come back AGAIN. AIG takes 2 business days to contact a supervisor, and 2-4 WEEKS to SEND ME A COPY OF THE CONTRACT VIA EMAIL. If you’re considering spending the money on an extended warranty from this company, save your money and put it towards a new appliance instead.Review from Seymour K

Dealing with this company has been a nightmare from first day. My appliances are (supposedly) covered by AIG U.S. Warranty Div. When I renewed the contract after 2yrs the Certificate of Coverage had the wrong model nos for my Kitchen Aid Appliances. We brought it to their attention & were told there would be no problem - because the incorrect last 3 letters only indicated color. We have stainless steel & the Service Contract had black listed as the Color . THERE WAS! HOWEVER! A PROBLEM when the refrigerator stopped working & needed repair. To date, 2 of the 4 appliances have not had the model nos updated. No one seems to know how to correct this. I have reached out to them a minimum of 10;times. . Have forward to them umerous times via email the model & serial nos right on the inside of the appliances . I urge everyone not to use this company. They simply are not correct ting the problem. In addition, I mailed proof of purchase, which contains the correct model nos. During my conversation with them today they asked me when I replaced the appliances. Never!!! I purchased these 4 years ago.Review from HS R

Extended Warranty Review and Warning Re: AIG Whirlpool Contract Early Cancellation, Pro-Rated Refund Expected to Card on File, Never Received Warranty Contract was cancelled February 12, 2014. Customer advised same date as cancellation from Whirlpool to expect a pro-rated refund on card on file from original date of warranty (3-6-2020). Customer informed upon cancellation that they cancelled in advance of the future Warranty expiration date and therefore a pro-rated refund would process in approximately 30 days if the card is still open, or be mailed by direct check to Customer if the card happened to be closed. The Customer card is open and upon contacting the card's financial institution, they never received the pro-rated refund to the account. Even tho the pro-rated refund comes to approximately $40.79, the AIG underwriters should have processed that refund within the promised 30-day period range given upon cancellation. Call was initiated second call to Whirlpool re: status of refund on April 10, 2024, wherein Customer was given some contact information for AIG in Jeffersonville and advised to email about the warranty refund and informed the customer that Whirlpool has been instructed never to tell the customer who cancels early that they will ever get a refund, because the underwriter, AIG in this case, may decide not to issue one. Customer advised to email by several individuals, after being given different phone numbers, getting transferred and also disconnected. Customer researched and found other far more reputable and reasonably priced warranty company (SEARS), and is informing other consumers via the BBB portal to avoid Whirlpool / AIG, for any extended warranty. Additionally and worth mentioning, after the pandemic, they raised the same warranty far above and beyond the original warranty price, for the same service. Purchased their warranty when I bought my trash compactor- I have called for the last 2 business days (to make a service appt) and was put on an automated hold for over 40 minutes before I finally hung up. Of course if i hit the "sales" prompt someone immediately answered but they cold not help me. NO reason to purchase this warranty if they do not have the customer service to help you. You can't go on line and schedule an appointment either like you can with a home warranty.Service Net part of AIG Response
