About April 26, 2022 had gravel delivered to refresh elderly parents driveway. Driver released the gravel while backing down the driveway and drove off the driveway not even avoiding anything. Buried tires almost to top, so deep another dump truck could not pull it out, a semi had to. The driver prior to backing had been urged to use the large level graveled turnaround clearly visible at top of driveway to drive down instead of backing. Driver left 50 feet of 3 feet+ rut, made a new driveway ditch and shredded 50 feet of electrical cable. But we paid full. Now the rut is widening, the cable further degrading, the gravel has moved into the new ditch, were worried the house is going to be in danger of further damage, driveway needing regrading. McGuire Excavating & Trucking has all the infrastructure to fix this and just wont even though we have been very polite. For over 8 weeks I have put myself at their disposal. The owner ***** McGuire said an electrician had been out, but I dont believe it, because ***** never said the persons name/company, or told me when theyd be there or even had them call me in 8 weeks, let alone never had it fixed. The worst part, I didnt see this shredded cable but evidently ***** did and instead of telling us how he would fix the matter, he wanted to talk about if my Mom wanted to sell her house because his daughter had been looking for a place like that. This whole situation was avoidable and they tore up a seniors driveway, now are trying to avoid fixing it. It would be easy for McGuire to repair because all the equipment needed to fix the problem, that they totally caused is already owned by McGuire Excavating and when it happened, they were working on a project only a few miles away. My brother is a witness to the event too and we have pics of the undamaged driveway just days prior, pics day of April damage and June pics of worsened damage (all pics attached.)Business response
