On 12/02/2021 Homeowner called Roof Masters Plus to get a estimate for a new roof, after completing his neighbors home. At the time he claimed to not have enough funds to cover a new roof, so we closed out his file. didn't have  2 years later, homeowner reached back out to Roof Masters asking if we can do his roof at the same price quoted 2 years prior, but in shingles.  Time goes by and homeowner reaches out once again asking for a metal roof estimate using same alike material we used on his neighbors home, which is a commercial grade standing seam roof system.  Also note, within this 2 year period same homeowner had even recommended Roof Masters to a friend of theirs, which we had completed a year ago, which in return Roof Masters awarded homeowner a referral bonus, as seen on contract, to help fit his budget. Not being made aware, during this course of time of negotiating cost, we later find out he had actually filed an insurance claim for storm damage. This is where homeowners dishonesty began to surface as this was damage seen at the first inspection. However we kept the price we gave him 2 years ago to help out. Not for our benefit but his. On 11/23 Homeowner signed a contract which is also attached, and paid his deposit. He/we checked from time to time on the status as it was winter, and holidays approaching, he stated every time that he understood and was in no hurry just to keep him posted. Prior to us starting the job he had a new tankless water heater installed. The pipes to the water heater were not properly fastened in the attic which would cause any movement to come unattached.  Roof Masters was then blamed of putting debris down the pipe that  blocked the air flow and cut off the hot water. After blaming this on us we proved it was his water heater installers that caused this as the debris was the same cuts they made to cut the hole for the pipe. See attached photo. Roof Masters offered to come back that same day and look at the hot water issue. **** declined and said it could wait. This is when his dishonesty once again came into play.  Homeowner did call his hot water person out same day Roof Masters was delivering more material.  At this time Roof Masters witnessed the plumber on the roof but homeowner denied such thing ever occurred. We then moved passed that and all was well. until homeowner text (see photos) saying he saw dents in the roof. There were no dent upon inspection but in fact oil canning which is common in standing seam. I sent info  on oil canning so homeowner had a better idea of what it is .. Then job took a lil longer as we addressed some issues of a structural dip in his roof. We fix the dip the best we could with roof having 2 layers of plywood decking which is a sign someone tried fixing the issue once before.  Now when speaking about this during the walkthrough, which I made sure to record with all that had occurred up to this point, he stated he was not aware of 2 layers of decking but aware roof had 2 layers of shingles..  The dip was structural and of no fault of RMP's nor was it the fault of the homeowner.  Roof Masters fixed the issue the best they could.  During the recorded walkthrough homeowner states it looked much better and only had concerns of bottom corners having a small gaps, which was present for gutters to slide up underneath.  He also made a comment after receiving the invoice that he was going to hopefully come out even, which kind of threw a red flag on what he was meaning by that.  Further in the conversation he asked about *******, explained to him once again per contract once invoice is paid you get gutters.  He then states I needed to send in the *** to insurance then he would pay once receiving his check but was also leaving for vacation in 2 weeks following walkthrough (recording on flash drive but can submit if needed.)  Against my better judgement I trusted homeowner to keep his word and had his gutters installed. again his dishonesty like everything else through out his project was set in motion.     Had Homeowner not felt the job was satisfactory at the time homeowner should have addressed that prior to sending the info for us to send *** to insurance during the final walk through.  After 2 weeks of waiting Roof Masters contacted **** asking for final payment. Several days went by after emails and texts were sent and left without a reply. Then we finally receive a response that is also attached that he didn't receive but half of what he thought he was. None of which is Roof Masters fault. Once **** lost his discounts and started accruing late fees as per the contract, he then replied stating he has no intentions of paying and that he wants others on the roof to inspect. **** was asked what his issues were and he stated he would let us know (also in texts) once he had it inspected by other roofing companies. We informed him that if someone else is on the roof messing with it without a RMP rep there to supervise his warranty would be void. We can not guarantee a job is not compromised if someone else is on it. He refused to allow RMP there while others were there. So he went against what was asked and states in his letter he had inspections made without us being present to be able hear what issues there are. Sent email per his request, asking for this inspection breakdown, yet with no response.   Again fraud and dishonesty is the main issue here. He claims insurance told him not to pay, also turns out to be another false statement as we've had contact with his insurance company.  With that being said we then served homeowner with a pre lien notice. Email attached shows he actually thanked us for the notice and we would hear something by 8/6/24. Again,  did not hear anything back, so the lien was the filed on the property in ****************. We emailed homeowner asking again what the issues were because we received a letter from him in the mail certified, which is attached as well. Again nothing, just excuse after excuse that has no credibility.  But does happen to state the price to "fix" the roof and replace it is the amount owed to us, not a shocker., but again dishonest. Roof Masters has tried numerous times explaining to homeowner the seriousness the excessive cost this will cost him in the long run as we don't like seeing this happen with anyone but he seems to think this will all go away and he wont owe anything. Each day the fee is increasing, just because he thought he had successfully pulled one on his insurance company doesn't mean its ok to do to others. Sorry its so much to take in but this saves going back and forth with any individual that is in breach of contract and far from being loyal to ones that try to do  what they can for that person. I do have other files but it will not allow me to upload them. Should you like to see them I'd be happy to send them to an email address if need be.

So many statements and recolections I disagree with is why I have pursued additional action. My intention here is to help others avoid the same pitfalls. At this point I have put it into the hands of others to dedcide.
