      I boarded my two dogs with Dawg Paradise a couple of weeks ago. While in their care, another dog at the facility attacked one of my dogs. I was not informed of the attack until after my dogs were dropped back off to me a week later. The owner stated that she didn't want to ruin my vacation. After the attack, my dog was given a bath but never taken to the vet because the only vet open was the emergency clinic, which they said would have been too expensive. Instead, the owner gave my dog leftover medication from her dogs. Upon seeing my vet after my dogs were returned to me, they stated unknown medications should never be given to dogs. They also stated that my dog should have been taken to a vet immediately since they were in the care of Dawg Paradise. Moving on, it was reported to my husband and me that the only wound sustained was at the base of my dog's neck, which was a small puncture approximately 1/8" - 1/4" in size and a cut similar to a paper cut on his ear. When I came home to see my dogs after they were delivered back to me, I felt several large lumps on my dog's neck. I was told that the Dawg Paradise groomer stated these were wounds from my dog scratching himself. The vet firmly denied this and stated they were definitely bite wounds. When I showed pictures to the owner, she said, "Oh, we didn't see those." Another issue was that they allowed me to pay over the phone in full and did not tell me about the incident. When I asked about this, the owner stated that the employee who took my payment did not know about the incident. "How?" Dawg Paradise is not very large, and you were treating wounds for a week. If that is the case, there is horrible communication there. In light of all of this, I asked for my injured dog's stay to be refunded, which the owner refused to do. She stated that if I decided to take my dog to the vet, she would apply the amount of the vet bill to a future stay. Why on earth would I want to take my dogs back there?
