Beware of This Contractor - Extremely Disappointing Experience I had a very negative experience with this contractor KC Pier. I paid $250 in advance for an assessment of foundation damage for a commercial property. The contractor did visit the property, but after that, I never received the promised assessment. When I requested a refund, they flatly refused. This level of unprofessionalism and dishonesty is unacceptable. I strongly advise against using this contractor’s services. Save yourself the trouble and look for someone more reliable and trustworthy.

Upon first interaction with ** ****, he stated that he was looking to purchase the property and that we would be meeting with the seller.  He explained that he had a couple of rooms that had some heaving and sloped floors.  We were then instructed to speak with ****, the onsite manager.  Upon arrival, we were told that there were 36 rooms that had issues and we made a determination that due to the lack of quality information received by ** **** prior to scheduling the appointment we would be unable to evaluate the property properly to provide an accurate estimate to repair the extensive damages.

The consultant ****** as well as a second consultant Brian spent over an hour onsite at the first appointment in order to at least begin the process of drawing the property and getting exterior dimensions to have a jump start on a second appointment that needed scheduled for both consultants to return for a period of approximately 4 hours (8 hours between the 2).

In a phone conversation shortly after the first consultation explaining to ** **** the requirements that were needed to properly assess the property, he spoke with the manager of the property and we were told we would only have 1 hour to perform the inspection and could only be granted access to 3-4 rooms even though ** **** claimed there were 36+ rooms that were deemed "out of order" by the city due to code violations for structural issues.

After approximately 5-8 more phone calls over 5 days between ** **** and our office staff, it was agreed that arrangements had been made between ** **** and the owner of the property to allow us to have an un-metered amount of time to inspect ALL of the rooms that were "out of order" and make proper assessments for repairs.

At that time we also explained the need for a $250 consultation fee due to the nature of the consultation and the extensive time that would be involved to complete the evaluation.  It was also explained that if he were to move forward with any estimated repairs that he would receive a credit toward the project for the initial $250 consultation fee.

Upon arrival on the new date and time with both scheduled consultants, they were again, denied access to the property.  They waited for approximately 1.5 hours onsite for the manager to make contact with whomever he was trying to reach (we assume the owner).  This resulted in an additional 3 man hours wasted.  At that time, my consultants let the office know that they were moving on and leaving the property.

It was determined that we have had a total of 5 hours onsite with no success in properly estimating the job and therefore will not refund ** **** for his consultation.  We have showed up both times in order to complete our portion of the work and have been met with nothing but resistance when attempting to complete the review of the property due to what appears to be a lack of communication between ** ****, the owner and his onsite manager.

We are actively working this as a standard service call.  Why is there a complaint with the BBB when the customer has been in contact with us for the past few days with a scheduled service?   Please see the attached contact record of calls / messages and responses from customer.
