My wife and I are both in our eighties, and decided it was time to get help keeping up our house. My wife contacted a person thru Angi, who came out and did a great job and agreed to come every two weeks. After waiting all day on the second week, with no contact from the lady, we contacted Cottage Care. They said someone would be out at 8:00. We waited until 10:00, with again no contact from the housekeeping folks, and contacted a local lady who showed up almost immediately. At 10:30 the lady from Cottage Care showed up, and my wife told her we would not be needing her. A couple of days later we received a "Past Due" notice for $117.00 from Cottage Care. I attempted to contact them, but there was no phone number on the invoice. I contacted their corporate offices and spoke with a man who was less than helpful. I went to their local office on several occasions, to pay the charge, to protect my credit, and found the office closed and locked. I have just written a check for $117.00, to keep my credit rating. Being charged $117.00 for nothing isn't right, and I would like a refund.Business response

Thank you for reaching out. I spoke with our local Owner (*****. He reported that on the reminder call the day before the cleaning; he let the customer know we would arrive between 9-10 am. Sean said that when the cleaner arrived at the home at 9:30, there was already another cleaner in the house, and the customer's wife apologized because she forgot to cancel the appointment with us and had asked her old cleaning service to come clean also. She told Sean to charge her half of what the cleaning would have cost for the inconvenience.
This appears to be a miscommunication. Sean reports that he has not received a check for payment from the customer. At this point, the request for a refund is not warranted. We are not pursuing compensation further. We apologize if we contributed to any confusion; we were just as confused based on some of the above circumstances.Initial Complaint

House move clean that occurred on 10-14-22 Promised hand mopped floors, with detailed clean including exterior and interior drawers and fridge interior cleaned Floor showed minimal to no mopping, drawers were not wiped externally or internally...fridge interior not cleaned at all, vacuum was not thorough, cobwebs still on walls Called and spoke to their manager and she dropped $100 to discount mopping Charge is still over $600 for a "move out" clean requesting $200 more off as there is no evidence of any detail that constitutes a move out clean
